The Arabs have never and I repeat never made any offers period. They demand and then say that's not enough.

And it's really not that Erekat is a liar, it's that he's part of the Palestinian mindset that is removed from reality. Under this reality, Hamas simply doesn't exists and Gaza is on some other continent. So Erekat has no problem ignoring the facts and blames Olmert for bombing Gaza. But why did Israel bomb Gaza? Because Hamas kicked out Fatah from Gaza and continues to fire missiles at Israeli civilians - something that Erekat tacitly approves by ignoring the reality. Oh yes, he'll give lip service to opposing "all attacks against civilians", but in truth Erekat simply shows how impotent Fatah is at running the non-existent Palestine. Not just Israel, but the civilized world has for years been calling on the Palestinians to stop attacking Israeli civilians. However, the Palestinians simply can't help themselves and the terrorist attacks continue.

Judging from the article, it seems the PA put an amazing offer on the table and the Hamas agreed (showing it's joy at peace by launching rockets for weeks on civilians). If the PA blames Olmert's action against Hamas due to their on-going war crimes against Israelis, because the PA presented a peace offer - does that mean that Fatah DOES control Hamas? Is Hamas and Fatah a partnership? If so, then the PA should have been a target as well. Erekat considers Pals unity when blaming Israelis, considers Pals divided when Fatah picks up the bodies of those thrown from the buildings and used as target practice. They can't even agree to let their sick citizens travel for medical help, you think they can produce a peace document? Hardly.

it seems JPS is the one who lives in a different reality to everyone else. one in which israeli politicians are not exposed as corrupt, as liers, as rapists, as torturers and as people who do not think twice about unleashing war and destruction on innocent civilians. hamas rockets were fired in the context of an ongoing and brutal siege not just because they do not like israelis. you need to look outside your cocoon of unreality and see how the world now views israel and its corrupt, often racist politicians. i would suggest JPS will not like what he sees. dump your victim mentality - palestinians are no angels but they are the victims in all of this and the rest of world is coming around to recognising that.
