but they don't know for sure, either way, it's good, need to spook some monkeys.
4. If Iran is hit - what will they do about it?
(05.03.09)
I dont think they will do anything. They are all talk. They are scared of tackling the host of weapons they could only dream about of having , let alone actually knowing how to use. A successful Israeli attack will take out all their air defenses. They will have nothing to stop the next wave. They could start a missile exchange...but if they do there is reason to believe that they will not lose that round too. ..and any successful counter attack on Israel will prompt a massive response. That applies to Iran's proxies - especially. Ultimately, even if Iran was able to respond and hurt Israel - there is no doubt the devastation in Iran will be absolutely massive. Israel is looking for an excuse to do this - they need and want Iran weak. Iran might have some ability - but are half-baked. Wait to see them against a real military. I dont think so.

i agree with you 100%. this needs to be done. it'll also free my country, lebanon. as a matter of fact, the harder the paper tiger howls, the less power he shows he has. iran is faking and israel knows the facts on the ground. israel will never committ to such an attack if they knew they will not be 100% sucessful. vivienne beirut, lebanon
6. Preemption makes sense here
Stat ,   Canada   (05.03.09)
Time has come for Iran to preemptively attack Israel in order to divert any foolish military ambitions.
7. #6 Foolish statement
Wanda ,   Montreal   (05.03.09)
The fact is that Iran, as NPC signatory, is well within its rights to have nuclear energy. So far as many as six agencies and watchdogs, the IAEA included, have reported no illicit activity. Iran has nothing to fear other than Israeli fear (upon which the nation seems to be founded and by which bound together), and your statement would act to reinforce that fear. Keep in mind, the Russian scientists are the gambit here...
8. now i understand why you published the false figures about
arab public in I-L   (05.03.09)
9. Editors -- In June, huh?
Reader ,   Israel   (05.03.09)
"In June, The New York Times quoted US officials as saying Israel carried out a large military exercise that appeared to be a rehearsal for a potential bombing attack on Iran's nuclear facilities... 100 Israeli F-16 and F-15 fighters took part in the maneuvers over the eastern Mediterranean and Greece in the first week of June."
10. Ha!! so... this will be a one way affair..lol
RJBH ,   Methil   (05.03.09)
but by all means .. Please go ahead... The repetitive nonsense that surrounds the Impending" attack has become boring in the extreme. just do it and lets watch the TV on what happens next... Which is much more Interesting.
11. Foolish Wanda
JPS ,   Efrat   (05.03.09)
The fact is that Iranian leaders have repeatedly called for war against Israel and for Israel to be "wiped off the map." The fact is that the Iranian government regularly holds racist rallies that call for illegal genocide against Israel (tens of thousands of Iranians chanting "death to Israel"...which means they want to kill us all). Sorry, Wanda, but Iran is rife with illicit activity, including the illegal imprisonment and murder of your fellow Canadians. Keep in mind, that Iran supports the concept of suicide murder... meaning they do not fear to use nuclear weapons to kill people, including their own. And you also seem to forget that Iranian leaders don't like Canada either. Why? Because the Canadian embassy rescued several American embassy staff members back when the Iranians illegally overran the US embassy and took the Americans prisoner. No illicit activity in Iran? Wow, are you naive!
12. We can’t afford to wait : Time has come for action.
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (05.03.09)
Iranian nuclearization remains an existential threat to Israel, it also remains authentically genocidal in the legal sense. It follows that Israel’s reliance upon its own nuclear strategy and nuclear deterrent will now necessarily expand. Israel shall soon have to make a long-postponed decision on preemption (anticipatory self-defense) against Iranian hard targets. If this decision should continue to be postponed, Israel will likely lose the chance to defend itself conventionally. More concerning the dangers of a nuclear Iran at : http://tinyurl.com/6r4agc
13. need for preemptive action
democritos ,   Macedonia, Greece   (05.03.09)
in fact i am sure the iranians are planning something
14. why risk collateral damage?
Frank Lea ,   London   (05.03.09)
Take out the key leaders only and the régime will collapse. Is it beyond the capabilities of Mossad CIA etc. to pinpoint 6 key targets?
15. to #10 maybe Israel will.
ghostq   (05.03.09)
like in previous times Iran can't and won't be able to seperate the Israely arabs from the jewish comunity, not posible, in cast lead the first civilian who got murdered was an Israely arab(beduin) construction worker who were killed in a direct hit.
16. I hope they are not really foolish enough to bomb Iran
Antonio ,   Haifa   (05.03.09)
That would be just awful for Israel from political and geo-political perspective. There are other options. The backlash would be unacceptable. Israeli government needs to stop thinking short-term. Such short term victories usually turn out to be strategic losses. Just like the failure to kick out all the Arabs after the 1967 war.
17. little iran
Yisraeli   (05.03.09)
Reported recently when Iran wanted to stage their entire air force in a military parade they were holding, they decided woops better not and only had a token 3 planes for the parade. Pity the IAF might have picked them all off. Never mind no doubt they know each 'garage' where these planes may be housed. Im sure the Iranians recall Egypt losing theyre entire air force in the first 15 minutes of the '67 war. I hope if IAF attacks they take out as many of the mullah's and revolutionary guard whilst theyre at it. You have to remove the head of the snake not just their toys. When the IAF attacks you can count on it being huge and precise. Look up is it Mohammed flying on his carpet? No. Or maybe its the 12th Imam coming? No, look at the big Star of David on the wings better start praying quick you may only have 5 seconds when you see them before meeting your allah. Frakk with Israel at your peril!
18. The day is coming, the mullahs will crawl under allied boots
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (05.03.09)
Soon their nuclear ambitions will be as crushed as they themselves will be.
19. Iran didn't attack Israel's nukes, Israel can't attack Iran
Red Wine ,   USA   (05.03.09)
If Israel does launch an attack on the sovereign, UN-member state of Iran, then Israel should be held responsible for what would happen. No one US soldier will get involved, don’t count on it.
20. #19 Israel would held responsible anyway...
(05.03.09)
...for whatever happens. Its all BS and we all know what the headlines will be well in advance. Iran is a sovereign state, a UN member that openly, continually inflames and provokes - threatens another. Not surprisingly - it will find itself at war. Nobody is expecting the USA to do anything but get in the way of Israel doing the job for them. No one in the West can seriously believe that a nuclear Iran will only be for "peaceful" purposes. That is a super joke and we all know it'll only be a matter of time before these lunatics actually do something beyond threatening. If not Israel - then someone else. Its bad enough with North Korea taunting us now. I'm actually quite scared of attacking Iran - its drastic - but I'm also scared of what will be if they are not tackled now. If we let these creeps get the bomb.
21. #10 Iran better hope its a "one way affair"
(05.03.09)
I know you cant bring yourself to contemplate it...but if Iran gets a successful retaliatory strike/s on Israel..... The consequences of - I leave it to your imagination. Believe it - that's where this is heading. They are finished if they hit Israel. The whole lot of them. Hizbullah, Hamas - anybody else who wants to join in. Maybe Syria will try and get the Golan back.:-)
22. to #19
bttnjl ,   Plantation USA   (05.03.09)
You are such a fool, who do you think is going to launch an attack? you better believe the US will be involved and the word sovereign does not apply to caveman like regimes.and also you are not an american, its not too hard to see that you are an iranian
