3. Israeli Mullahs
Alon K. ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.03.09)
What an insult to all normal Israelis. These people remind me too much of the freaks in Tehran. They should receive no benefits from my hard-earned taxes. What an embarrassment to the country.

eddie ,   london UK   (05.03.09)
rabbi
5. The words of the sages must be followed
Steve   (05.03.09)
If these wise men are our guides and their words are to be taken seriously, then everything they say is noteworthy. We cannot pick and choose what we like and we don't like, just as we cannot close our ears to things we may not agree with. A man is only as good as his word. If his word is rubbish...

Vicky ,   Ashkelon   (05.03.09)
What a plonka? 20 is too young to get married, and there is nothing so uncultured and trustworthy than a Yeshiva Broker who shirks his family duty by looking AFTER his wife and family. How primitive can you get?
11. Dosent sound like ....
ben ,   singapore   (05.03.09)
The Council of Torah Sages ! You are suppose to call the jews back there not TELL THEM TO GO AWAY !

15. Well, if they plan to work and not just take welfare...
dorothy friend ,   tel aviv   (05.03.09)
...they can go anywhere they want. Jerusalem is as much a state of mind and spirit as a physical place.
16. not your concern
Ellen ,   Israel/USA   (05.03.09)
So single Chareidi boys over 20 have been told not to live in Jerusalem. Why should anyone who is not Chareidi care???? It doesn't effect any of the talkbackers except to have those who hate Chareidi and need to write their ongoing drivil. ( and YNET to again publish its' anti-Chareidi story of the day) Before anyone attacks me. I am NOT Charedi and I feel that ALL should have jobs. I just don't see the need for this type of article and the resultant responses. This one, in particular is a non-story.
17. This is their culture...
Ari   (05.03.09)
...anyone who doesn't like it can just ignore it, since his words are not directed at you. So you can stop with all the idiotic, bigoted statements.
18. At 19 they should be serving in the Army
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.03.09)
At 19 they should be serving in the Army and defending people like these Rabbis not getting married.
19. They should not leave Jerusalem - they should be in the Army
Eric ,   Tel Aviv   (05.03.09)
At 19 these boys are not "over the hill" or beyond marriage age. They should be serving in defending the country. Then they should study and settle down. This forcing them out is based on an old rule from back when the life expectancy was 40 years. So they would have been middle aged at 20, now they will live to 60 - 80 so they should not be subject to old rules.
20. How about moving older spinsters in?
David ,   Shilo Israel   (05.03.09)
Where there's a demand there's just gotta be a solution...nu?
21. Mike
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (05.03.09)
Exept for the cold and rainy days , it was great .
22. enraged
Hezi ,   Israel   (05.03.09)
Why are these draft dodgers allowed to get away with this? Age 20? Why aren't they in the army or in jail?
23. #17 - problem is....
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (05.03.09)
...I'm being asked to foot the bills!!!!
24. #22
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (05.03.09)
Because their parties are necessary to form a coaliton, that's why.
25. #16 Ellen - Oh but it is our concern
Avi ,   Israel   (05.03.09)
The fact is , its our tax money that pays for the life style of such religious parasites. Its our children that serve in army to protect these people. So when they go get a job , pay taxes and serve their country its no longer our concern!
26. airing idiocy
Nathan Cherny ,   Maccabim   (05.03.09)
Whey publish every bit of inane idiocy form fools who undermine the credibility of Judaism? This sort of nonsesne makes our faith look ridiculous, orthodoxy a sad comedy and it encourage fight to saner (and yetunrecognized) ways to express ones judaism. Give us a break!
27. This Rabbi no doubt despises Christians!! What an Imbecile!
ASMq ,   Australia   (05.03.09)
A total Cretin! This jerk will be another "Sympathizer for the Devil". Another "Give up Jerusalem for Peace"! I suggest dropping him (via Parachute) over Baghdad or Teheran where his soul and his heart lie!! A disgrace to Judaism, but mostly, a DISGRACE to G-D!!
28. democracy!
m ,   m   (05.03.09)
you are a fool, currently the law in the democratic state EXEMPTS theses students. so who are you to suggest they go to jail? and whats more, there are more non-religious ILLEGAL army-dodgers than yeshiva boys but somehow that doesnt bother you. because as i said, you are a fool
29. These Are The People That Rule Your Nation?
World Citizen ,   the world   (05.03.09)
Have a family and support it? I was under the impression that these orthodox males didn't work even if they had families? I thought they lived off government stipends? I thought they didn't serve in the military because they had to spend all their time praying and studying holy books? What is the truth here?
30. Half baked halacha
D Fault   (05.03.09)
The Halacha states that one should not marry until after he has established a parnasah so that he can support a wife and family. Living off hand outs is not considered a parnasa.
