1. the problem is that the PM has to much power
zionist forever   (05.05.09)
When it comes to doing deals with arab leaders it seems that the only red lines are the ones that they set themselves and nonthing more. If a PM wants to give up the Golan he says you got a deal and anything else is just small details. Barak is the man who put Jerusalem onto the table. At Camp David without even consulting the cabinet let alone the Knesset he unilaterally took the decision to offer Arafat E Jerusalem along with the Old City & Temple Mount. Both Clinton and Arafat were amazed he had promised it and once you make a promise you cant't take it back. If Arafat had accepted the palestinians would have Jerusalem by now. The system itself gives to much power to individuals who are sometimes more interested in their place in the history bools and nobel prizes than whats god for Israel. Bibi was never going to be good for Israel its just because the alternative were so bad he was best of a bad bunch and not to be trusted. The Knesset itself is just a little 120 member club based on you scratch my back I scratch yours. As the coalitions are based on small single issue parties whose members are apointed not elected its easy enough to buy Knesset votes. Only need 61 out of 120 individuals to support the passing of a bill and it passes. There is no second chamber to regulate and tell the government this is bad we insist you change things. Politicly Israel is not much better than your average banana republic where 61 individuals who were not directly elected can make laws and there isn't even a constitution to tell them where to draw the line. Even the basic laws like right or return for jews or even the idea israel stays a jewish state can be changed through a Knesset vote it just needs a higher threshold of votes needed. Considering the way the system works Israel can't boast to much about how democratic it is.
2. mistakes
Iyad ,   Syria, Latakia   (05.05.09)
oh and besides the historical mistake that Syria EVER agreed to an Israeli presence in the Golan (UN detemined Israeli-occupied Syrian territory blah blah). Like father like son, it will not happen.. Peace will prevail, in this day and age, when Syria gets all of its land back and Israel will then get its security and peace.. we will become ok-ish neighbours then (but not tooo pally thanks) Oh yeah and non of that 'where ever you dig in the Golan you will found Jewish history buried'..Give that idea up ...unless you really want the Golan to be where the 'jewish future will be buried' Think peace think Salam Think Shalom

and the subject resources are israeli ! so funny you guys, you write lies, and then act as these lies are facts !!! anyway, the subject in our area is far more than a 67 or 48 or 200? border ! the fact that there are so many fundimantalists in israel as well as in the surrounding.. and israelies know this very well, a country with borders and peace and with no hate to the surrounding is not a choice ! imagine israelis and palestinians stop hating each other ?! or a rabi and a sheikh living in the same building and everyone respecting other one beliefs ! hehe, the core of the jewish israel will be dead. thats why peace in not a choice in the upcoming 100000 year.

It was clear, the " core of your Jewish state " depends on a steady level of tension and hatred to your surrounding, wether it was a jordanian or an egyption, lebanese or syrian, you believe that you are in constant threat .. you just can't live in peace because ur afraid to be in peace. Arabic- jews had lived for thousands of years amoung people of this area, In Iraq, Jordan, Pal, lebanon, and egypt, Yeman, and it was never like europe, they were a part of the community, living side by side, with muslims and christians. and of course they have the right not only in Palestine, but in all the surrounding, but not on the basis of Israel zionist Jewish state.
