More like mouth wide open. Every meaningless word indicates weakness to Tehran. Meanwhile they continue to build their nukes, with the help of our "friends" from Russia. When it comes to foreign policy, there is not a y chromosome in this administration.

Once more and yet again, Israel goes it alone. No worries. The United States will not give Israel an air corridor over Iraq, but I'll bet the farm that the Saudis will ......

For a while and knows that an opportunity exists means....'that Iran might soften up when it comes to enrichment'.Mr Gates must know that there is very less likelihood of Iran agreeing to it.So, one would wonder what that window of opportunity does Gates see? That window of opportunity is to do MORE with USA abondoning its carrot and stick policy rather than anything to do with Iran. So far as Egypt and Saudi Arabia are concerned, their skepticism and worries are self disclosing policy of keeping themselves secure when it comes anything to do with the Middle East. The Eguptians and the Saudi people should make note of this remark by Mr.Gates.

i wouldn't be surprised sarah. you know what the arabs' motto is in the middle east: "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". i won't be in the least surprised if israel, egypt, jordan and the gulf states pull together with israel to confront iran thereby giving your country a heads up and a palce to take off from and land....on arab territory, nonetheless. years ago, i believe, saudi arabia met with israeli defense and military officials as they speculated iran to be a problem to their countries' security in the region, and i believe, have proposed such a deal to israel. vivienne, beirut, lebanon
