1. Pack of liars!
Jayjay ,   ISrael   (05.13.09)
The real Nakba was perpetuated by Syria before the state of ISrael was created!
2. Israel Beiteinu
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron-Israel   (05.13.09)
I don't like Lieberman very much, but he is bloody right! All those who feel that there is such thing as Nakba should leave this country at once, so they can really long for something, we should make it clear for the that you don't bite the hand that's feeding you, unless you are massochist!
3. Happy Nakba Day, then
Dave ,   Natanya, IL   (05.13.09)
4. I'm gonna be there, taking names
Avigdor Lieberman ,   The Knesset   (05.13.09)
These people are trash. They get all the services of the state and don't have to do a damn thing. Lieberman is right, and ne'emanut, ain ezrachut. Send 'em to Lebanon already!

7. Nakba deniers are inhumane
Indigenous ,   Akko- Palestine   (05.13.09)
Nakba is only 5 years younger than the Holocaust, and it is well documented, you cannot deny it...they are not asking for anything but to live in their land in dignity...this my land and I have memories...
8. Hmmm
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.13.09)
If they're not happy, they can leave, right? I mean, it's not like they are Jews in Syria or Iran, who CANNOT LEAVE. Why don't they just get the hell out of Israel if they are so unhappy there?
9. Older Family Member Grew Up In Alexandria-Speaks Arabic
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (05.13.09)
After getting kicked out and robbed of the family business and real estate, he moved to Israel in 49 and he speaks fluent Arabic. He always likes to speak with Arab Israelis and he always asks them if they prefer living in a Jewish country or prefer moving to an Arab country or West Bank/Gaza. They all love living in israel with democracy, health care, opportunities but feel that publicly it's not acceptable within the Arab community to say these things. Show me ONE Arab Israeli that wants to move to the West Bank, Gaza, Egypt etc (Israel is not preventing them from leaving) and I'll show you Santa Claus. Just one.
10. to #7 the riots in the 30's were very
ghostq   (05.13.09)
dignified (cynical), they killed innocents padestrians in Jaffa. even the british saw what arabs r doing to others and put sand bags in the streets. use violence and that's the results. KARMA MAXIMUS.
11. Akko, Arabs and Nakba
DT ,   TA Israel   (05.13.09)
These arabs don't know when to quit. They could be in for a another licking if they arn't careful . Time Leiberman's policy of "allegiance or out" becomes Law.
12. Nakba march
israeli ,   israel   (05.13.09)
I wish they would march right out of Israel and stay there! Nobody is forcing them to stay if they don't like it here. The door is open, and don;t let it hit you in the back!!!!!
13. Rings a bit hollow, #7
Cameron ,   USA   (05.13.09)
One can only imagine the mighty howl, and the size of Arab protests, if those "evil Nakba Jews" were to begin downscaling govt. aid & benefits to the Arab population. it is not for sour parasites to speak on matters of "dignity", #7.
14. #7, Akko? Really?
Actually Akko   (05.13.09)
The actual number of English speakers in Akko can be counted on one hand. We don't need instigators like you to fuel the flames. Especially not under your BS posting claim to be from Akko.
15. To #7
(05.13.09)
Indeed. There were about 600,000 Arabs who left Israel during the War of Independence, most of them never saw a Jewish soldier, they left because their "brothers" told them, that they should leave, so it would be easier for them to fight the Jews, and when they kill all the Jews, they will come back, having the whole land for themselves (which never happened). If we are already talking about massive deportations, why won't you talk about the fact that Arab countries threw away almost a million Jews in the same time, while these Jews had land properties which are equivalent to whole "Palestine" (Israel & Jordan) But of course, you are uncomfortable with the truth...
16. Go home and teach your children
Maria ,   MD   (05.13.09)
that you don't own Israel. It's not yours.Think of Kurds and some stateless people, you have the Palestinian territory, improve it and go on with your lives.Past is already past. You sow violence you reap violence.Too late, Israel can't trust you anymore. You blew a lot of oppurtunities.Sorry!!!!Learn from Holocaust survivors, they learned a lot from being persecuted and they went on with their lives.
17. You Don't Like Israel?
Bill Foonman ,   Jacksonville USA   (05.13.09)
Do us all a favor and leave.
18. nakba rallies make jew & arab coexistence harder
zionist forever   (05.13.09)
Things like not dropping the nakba issue is one of the things that keeps this country divided. Arabs are saying we have no right to move more jews to the Negev and Galilee, they are going to court to try and stop the cojnstruction of new homes in Jaffa which are aimed although not spesificly reserved for jewsish couples on the grounds its an attempt to judaise the area. Akko, Haifa, Jaffa, the Galilee they all seem to be areas which arabs see as off limits to jews the want to live in little ghettos. Divide the country up into cantons where you have areas which are for arabs only, areas for jews only and a few places where both are allowed to live. Either they want to be Israeli citizens in which case they will live side by side with jews anywhere in the country and they will stop calling the independence of the country they are citizens a catastrophe and stop defining themselves as palestinians. If they want to continue to live like outsiders then lets strip them off their citizenship and they can be outsiders legally but they can't have it both ways.
19. Nakba Parade
Barry Bass ,   USA   (05.13.09)
If certain occupants are unhappy living in a country other then their own, then they should consider moving and rescinding any benefits they receive from their host.
20. #7Do you really think they were no indigenous jews?
indigenous jew ,   right here   (05.13.09)
from time immemorial .....
21. To: No. 7
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.13.09)
The Jews who perished in the Holocaust -- all six million of them -- were pure victims. The "Nakba" was purely of your own making. The Arabs who did not heed the call to leave the area to make way for the conquering Arab armies live in Israel to this day. The Arabs that did heed the call to make way for the conquering Arab armies have been refugees for sixty-one years. It is not Israel's fault that the Palestinians Arab brethren have failed to resettle the refugees and have left them to rot in sordid refugee camps. Place the blame where it lies: squarely upon yourselves.
22. #7 - Holocaust and Nakba - different causes
William ,   Israel   (05.13.09)
The Holocaust was a systematic genocide against Jews and others, the Nakba was a result of several decades of Arab racism and hit-and-run attacks on Jews. "They just want to live in their land with dignity" - You're from Akko, apparently you DO live in your home because 1) your family heeded the call by Jews not to run and you had no reason to run, 2) your family more than likely owned the house they were in, 3) your family accepted the UNR181 calling for an end to violence against Jews. However, there is no Palestine, never was. It was a region but nothing else. You're welcome to stay and live in peace, but act like a murderous thug and you're marked! You can't deny those who claim to want to "live in the land with dignity" - many were illegal immigrants from the 1930s - it's very well-documented, you cannot deny it. Prior to WWI, only 5% of the land was in private hands - again, very well-documented. If you call for justice, expect to be blind-sided by the truth.
23. The real Nakba happened to Jews in Arab lands
Doron ,   Israel   (05.13.09)
900 000 Jews kicked out from Arab lands is a higher number than 700 000 Palestinians that were asked to leave by their Arab leaders, so they could stay out of harms way while the Arabs planned to bombard and slaughter every Jew in Israel. And since there's 70 Arabs for every Jew, 900 000 is also a much, much higher number percentage wise. How many Arab nations would allow demonstrations with Jews who spit on their very existence? Nakba my a$$.
24. #4 I think you are a bit confused
Avi ,   Israel   (05.13.09)
"These people are trash. They get all the services of the state and don't have to do a damn thing" sounds like a pretty good description of the ultra orthdox i would say !
25. 7 - you want some nakba facts you wont hear on Al Jazeera
zionist forever   (05.13.09)
The UN offered partition in 1947 to create a jewish & arab state the jews said yes the arabs said no parition. There was about 500,000 - 750,000 refugees and for all other groups in the world refugee status is not inherited only for palestinians it is so we now have millions because of this idea that palestinians are special. Not all but most of whom left voulenatrily on the advice of the invading arab countries who believed the war would all be over in a couple of weeks and then the arabs could all return to their homes and enjoy the spoils of war. Naturally the jews took advantage of the situation and didn't want the arabs back but the majority of the REAL refugees didn't want to return and live under the jews they wanted to emigrate to arab states but they were refused. The Arab League strictly forbid any arab state granting citizenship to palestinian refugees or their descendants on the grounds of "To avoid dissolution of their identity and protect their right to return to their homeland" Basicly to keep them as pawns in the arab / Israel conflict. Today the palestinians who really suffer are living in Lebanon, Syria and the other arab states where they have no rights outside the refugee camp and are even prevented from most jobs outside the camp Everything from barbering - medicine is off limits outside the camps. In the 70s Israel wanted to slowly replace the Gaza camps with modern arab only settlements at Israeli taxpayer expense. Israel would build the infastructure and subsidise the cost of an individual building a home which he would be registered as legally owner of under the Israel Land Aurthority. In exchange they would let their home in the camp be be demolished. Eventually there would be no camps just modern arab settlements. The PLO threatened to execute anybody who took up the offer and the UN later passed a resolution condeming Israel and to move all the people who had taken up the offer send them back to the camps. Arabs in Israel today make themselves outcasts by wanting the country to become a giant set of arab or jewish ghettos each off limit to the other. Nakba rallies only encourage that ideology and as long as that thinking exists arabs will always be outsiders. The enemy of the arabs is not Israel or the jews its the arabs & UNRWA.
26. Israel should be grateful.
(05.13.09)
Israel should be grateful that Israeli Arabs do not apply terror in masses. If they do, Israel would end up like Bosnia. Instead of alienating and demonising Israeli Arabs just for the fact that they are Arabs, respect and be grateful that they do not apply terror in masses and they are proper obedient citizens.
27. To: No. 26
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.13.09)
"Should be grateful?" Are you on drugs? Israeli Arabs should be grateful that they are citizens of Israel. Of course, there's always Gaza and the Palestine Authority. How many Arabs do you see leaving Israel to go build a state in Gaza? Or in the territory controlled by the Palestine Authority? None. Right. You've got the gratitude thing backwards.
28. Jewish Acco
Steven Rosenfeld ,   L.A. USA   (05.13.09)
Israel should start acting like a country where Jews are the majority, not the minority. If the Arabs of Acco don't want to live in Israel or in a city that is majority Jewish, they could and should leave.
29. Take pictures
Lioness ,   Israel   (05.13.09)
of all the people who demonstrate against the state of Israel. Stop the benefits of whoever is receiving them that includes child allowances, old age pensions, unemployment pensions. Dont admit them to hospitals and health clinics where the Israelis have to pay taxes to keep these traitors living here.
