2. MORE UN ANTI-ISRAEL BASHING...
stude ham   (05.15.09)
UN UN UN HHHHH.... IS THERE NOTHING THEY CAN DO OTHER THAN COME UP WITH NEW ANTI-ISRAEL BASHINGS??? WHERE ARE THEIR SECRET FACILITIES HIDDEN FOR TORTURING THE STATE OF ISRAEL???
3. and while the UN is at it...
Lior ,   Israel   (05.15.09)
how about looking into using Crusifiction in Gaza as a means of punishment under Sharia law. (so-called Islamic Justice) Then they might wonder off to Egypt which ranks as one of the highest when it comes to human rights abuses. Matter of fact as long as the pot is calling the kettle black it might behoove the great UN with their less than perfect highly biased human rights council to speak out on the horrific suffering of all who live under oppressive Islamic law from stoning to female mutilation all across the entire ME and far beyond. Certainly while the UN wants to 'look into' our supposed secret detention centers I would ask why they say nothing about the West outsourcing of interrogations to Egypt and Jordan who makes weatherboarding look like a day at the pool. We must begin to really push the UN publicly with honest to goodness pressure as to their obvious agenda of Anti-Semitic behavior toward Israel. We know they are anti-Israel/anti-Semitic for at the same time they continue to non-stop harass us they completely look the other way with a broad brush stokes laden with excuses at the rest of the Islamic world where torture, abuse and the sacred rights of their people are both denied and exploited to the fullest.
4. Secret Detention
Alison ,   New York, US   (05.15.09)
Since no Arab entity has ever seen fit to allow any information on captured Israelis, why should Israel be required to allow red cross visits, modern detension facilities, family visits (families are often even given money so they can make the trip). Let's ask Hamas for the location of Shalit. Let's have the red cross visit him. Until then the UN can stick it.
5. Then probe Hezbollah and Hamas torture cntrs - if you dare

6. It must be really boring
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.15.09)
working at the United Nations. All they ever do is focus on Israel. Have they insisted on inspecting detention centers in, oh, say, China? Russia? Venezuela? Sudan? Iran? Libya? Or any other country, for that matter?
7. detention centre
Tom   (05.15.09)
while few people seriously believe the fact that there is no detention centre or that there is no prisoners etc.... I think the USA is hardly in a position to recommend or dictate anything to anybody- after Guantanamo, who is going to listen to anything they have to say. Sweep up your own dirt first, big brother!
8. Fortunately there are no other countries
jason white ,   afula,israel   (05.15.09)
in the world torturing people.Just little Israel. We should open a place to torture our enemies and to torture the leaders of n.g.o.s. Let us find out who is behind and who is funding these groups.

Pal Pal ,   The M E   (05.15.09)
It must be so boring being an ambulance chaser! On your next commute to "the land", why not visit Camp 1391 (which doesn't exist now, shhhhhhh!), to see GS. I am sure he is there, as Israel does not permit Red Cross visits there. Then go out for a pizza!
10. How typical of the UN ...
EST ,   Miami USA   (05.15.09)
So how come we don't hear any so called UN experts complaining about Gilad Shalit's imprisonment in an "undetermined location within Gaza which is not accessible to the International Committee of the Red Cross or the kidnapped Israeli's lawyers or relatives." Hamas, elected officials of the Gazan people, hold him... How typical of the anti-Semites' double standards ...
11. Oh really? When will UN show concern for Shalit!
Cynic ,   USA   (05.15.09)
12. Gilad Shalit
Joanna ,   London, UK   (05.15.09)
The UN is concerned with the possibility that Palestinian prisoners were kept in isolation and is worried that they were denied access to the Red Cross? Why then don't they concern themselves with a prisoner who we know is suffering these conditions?
13. OK, will do, after China, Egypt, Jordan, Spain, Chile, Nicar
diamond   (05.15.09)
Sudan, Yemen, Ethopia, Croatia...... when you get done investigating THEIR detention facilities, be sure and give us a call.
14. #13 Concentrate!
Pal Pal ,   The M E   (05.15.09)
Diamond-Israel, jews, torture, Camp 1391. Don't worry about other countries-we are talking about I S R A E L.........OK?
15. What About Arab Public Torture Sites?
emanon ,   USA   (05.15.09)
I guess those are OK as no one inside the UN has spoken out about the public stoning of people, especially women. Or the killings of their women for such things as walking outside alone. Or the public mutilation for other issues, primarily for disagreeing with the local militia.
16. #13 Pal Pal ... no NOT OK. UN is Arab dung heap
GZLives   (05.15.09)
Do you understand the concept of "double standards" ? Apparently you don't. Go and look it up so as not to embarrass yourself.
17. Pal Pal
Michael ,   New York   (05.15.09)
Hey Pal Pal... how about we talk about HAMAS and PA? Any thought about what your LEADERS to to people they don't like, including other PALIS? Not to mention Shalit. You hypocrit.
18. ATTN: Pal Pal
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (05.15.09)
Due to the world's selective moral outrage(International bigotry), Israel has a huge amount of journalists, investigators, and all around curious people inside of her borders. If there was torture and if this facility was still operational, you better believe people would know by now. You can keep yelling about "secret this" and "secret that," it's just obnoxious because you can say EVERY country or every entity has something secret. Where is the intelligence? Where are the photographs? Where are actual written testimonies that are CONSISTENT and accurate? C'mon, we know the Al Queda handbook: No matter what happens, claim you were tortured.
19. Investigate Israel's "Peace Partners" first!
Darren ,   Oakland, CA   (05.15.09)
20. The UN even handed approach
Joanna ,   California   (05.15.09)
I guess the UN is done already with investigating the "detention centers" in Muslim countries (Yes, Turkey included), in South America, China, other Far East countries, Russia, and Africa, and of course found them all being nothing but pristine and tranquil places of rest and enjoyment. What is left is to find out whether terrorists in Israel receive the same nice treatment.

If you have the guts, ladies, give me your emails, and I will send you some interesting pics. We will talk about jewish double standards (3000 years old), Lekud and orthodox (c...ts), and some beauties for you aaaaaaron!
22. Pal Pal...why do Hamas and Fatah
Maria ,   MD   (05.15.09)
kill one another? Both of them want to destroy Israel. Why don't you leave Israel alone? Don't send suicide bombers and don't fire rockets at Israel also.
23. In defense of Pal Pal
Sidney ,   USA   (05.15.09)
All the comments miss the point about Pal Pal, he is an idiot. You don't blame a diabetic for having diabetes or a cancer patient for having cancer, poor Pal Pal like the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz needs a brain.
24. UN
Roy ,   USA   (05.15.09)
One word: NO!
25. I was held there for three weeks and I did not crack.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.16.09)
They tried every kind of trick they could. Manicures, pedicures, massages, fresh gefiltifish, expensive wine and nothing could break me, I still have my secret recipe for lemon apple chicken intact and I will never share it with anyone.
26. Obviously NOBODY else is committing human rights abuses
Steve   (05.16.09)
Instead of worrying about a 'secret detention center' in Israel, the existence of which is unproven, how about dealing with real human rights abuses? How does that sound Mr. Secretary General? How about stopping the genocide in Darfur? Or is 400,000 dead civilians not enough? Why has the UN not done anything about China murdering civilians in Tibet, and taking over a country which belongs to someone else? How about investigating the prisons in Egypt, Iran, Burma, China or Russia? What about the CIA's secret rendition facilities? The UN has a lot of chutzpah attacking Israel for alleged 'human rights abuses' when so many others are doing far worse. Ban Ki Moon can go f--- himself.
27. to PAL PAL
Michael ,   New York   (05.16.09)
As usual a Pal or an Arab doesn't seem to miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity.. this has NOTHING to do with email addresses.. you didn't respond appropriately to the question... so Pal Pal, it isn't about guts, it's about truth. you have no truth to speak of.. there is NO PALESTINIAN PEOPLE. you did NOT exist before the early 70's. You are Jordanian or Egyptian or Syrian or whatever you are, but you are NOT PALESTINIAN. There are no Palestinians.... it is a 20th century invention... so r u.
28. Chinese don't like returning Christian escapees to N Korea
Dave ,   USA   (05.16.09)
The North Koreans use a pointed steel cable to string them together under the collar bones.
29. My email, Pal Pal
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (05.16.09)
Klover44@gmail.com (Not going to give you my university email ;-) Keep in mind that in the past, some pictures of "Palestinians" bloodied and beaten were actually Jewish Israelis. Keep in mind people die in every war, Hamas shoots from behind women and children, and that biblical texts are not historically valid proof of "evil Jewry"
30. #21 We've seen the pics
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.16.09)
Of Israeli victims of Palestinian terror. The men, women and children brutally tortured, murdered and left to die in the name of jihad. Spare your empty accusations. The UN has become one big abusive organization and needs to be disbanded.
