Israel threatened Iran only after Iran not only made numerous threats and continues to do so, but are backing both Hamas and Hezbollah on Israeli borders training and supplying them both with weaponry. It would seem if anyone is justified it would Israel for just that singular reason alone. It becomes obvious that a country like Iran which uses proxies to do its dirty work will of course use one of these groups to deliver a nuke into an Israeli city leaving Israel with no clear justification (in an already hostile anti Israel world) to strike back at Iran but only able to strike where there'd be extensive civilian casualties.
