1. It's simple
David ,   Rhode Island   (05.19.09)
Let the palestinians in the west bank vote and see if they vote for peace.
2. Control of the the west bank
David ,   New England   (05.19.09)
Control of the west bank was being given to the PA according to the Oslo accords when the people- under Arafat- he couldn't do it alone- decided to wage war against Israel. The PA's Abbas Zaki said he doesn't want a peace deal with Israel and said that establishing a state in Judea and Samaria with eastern Jerusalem as its capital will be a step toward Israel's destruction. Are Hillary and Barak the only people in the world who don't know the palestinians really don't want peace?
3. um....DUH?
Aaron ,   SF, USA   (05.19.09)
"The government is committed to the peace process with the Palestinians, not based on two states for two peoples, but on the Palestinian recognition of Israel as the state of the Jewish people." Why the hell would Israel cut a piece of itself away to a group of people that have done countless attacks on Israel's people if they do not even recognize Israel's historic basis? YOU CAN NOT DENY HISTORY!!!! OUR TEMPLE IS UNDER YOURS! WE HAVE VAST AMOUNT OF HISTORY ON THIS LAND PREDATING ANY OTHER OBJECTIVE FACTS/ARCHEOLOGY. THIS STUBBORNNESS IS KEEPING THE PALESTINIANS FROM STATEHOOD.
4. Yes he does
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.19.09)
All Jews everywhere want peace. They just don't want it on your terms, asshole. You don't get to set the terms, understand? You lost six wars. You brought terror on an unparalleled scale. You don't say word one -- you get what Israel is generous enough and kind enough to give you. You deserve nothing. Shut your fricken' mouth, loser.
5. The peace of Islam ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.19.09)
Any sane dhimmi would not want the peace of Islam. I think you moslems have squeezed about all you are going to squeeze out of the Jews and so now you do as expected ,threaten Israel with war. We know your game dear followers of allah,haSatan.
6. Bibi can negotiate with a murderer, but he should wear
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.19.09)
body armor.
7. what did he expected cookies and tea
ghostq   (05.19.09)
it's right wing gov, he won't get anything, maybe the boot.
8. Why do you report this drivel?
Jonathan ,   Hashmonaim Israel   (05.19.09)
This is not news. It's not even genuine opinion. This is the propaganda of a terrorist organisation that has no interest in peace, bolstered by the posturings of our own fifth-columnists.
9. Seen Better Days huh? Cry Abbas, Cry...
Nour ,   Palestine   (05.19.09)
How repugnant and defeatist, to await "positive" remarks from your occupier and foreign leaders to free your people from despair and occupation. Well, Hamas might be religious fanatics but at least they don't have your lousy attitude and bankrupt leadership. Besides your term as president has expired, why not join your son in Montreal I hear he has a successful business. A bientot Monsieur Abbas. Rendez-vous at a Palestinian High Court very soon. 20 years of your "negotiations" and Ocupation Authority have brought nothing but settlements and wars. You will be held accountable - inshallah.
10. Howdy Sarah, reminder...
Nour ,   Palestine   (05.19.09)
Have you taken your meds today? You know it's ill-advised to engage in diatribe so late at night. I wonder what fairy tales have you been reading? Settler states and settlers have no rights, indigenous populations do. Particulary, NY-based aliens who so arrogantly demand that we "accept" whatever your settler establishment throws at us - can go to hell, indeed. You see Sarah, we're not dogs. Furthermore, we exist, and shall continue to exist and even prosper, despite all the garbage fed into your mind by habitual liars like Herzl, Ben Gurion, Netanyahu, and everyone after them. Just stay tuned to The History Channel, Sarah. I'll send you flowers when I see you finally escaping trhough Jaffa's ports, where you managed to enter illegally our lands.
11. Abbas and peace
NYC Girl   (05.19.09)
It's time to start asking this bastard the tough questions like, since he played a role in it, what contribution to peace did he think the murder of the Israeli Olympic athletes would make?
12. At least Bibi wants to build up your economy
Sam ,   Canada   (05.19.09)
No Israeli government, right or left, can accept the Palestinian demands of a state and right of return. Palestinians can sulk or cooperate towards building themselves better lives. It's only because their conflict is with Jews that so many people are interested in their conflict and ready to help them.
13. The Palestinians want a state. Really?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.19.09)
If the Palestinians get their own country they will have to look after their own people and will have to stop blaming Israel for all their woes! All the Palestinians, Fatah, Hamas, Jihad and their merry men will have to recognize Israel and our right to exist. I am sure that President Mahmoud Abbas envisages that in his "Palestinian State" the people will live there but work in Israel. No ways! We have enough Palestinians taking jobs from Israelis and he will have to realize that in an independent state he will have to provide services and jobs for his people. Mahmoud Abbas and insists on the "Right of Return". Is he prepared to persuade those Arab countries which kicked the Jews out in the 1950's to return the property and rights taken from the Jews in North Africa? The "Right of Return" story is only to try and force those Muslim countries who "host" the so-called refuges to grant them citizenship and stop treating them like dirt! President Abbas, you can't fool all the people all the time. Actually, you can't even fool your own people who view you as a total weakling! By the way, what is this "President Mahmoud Abbas" thing? Isn't he the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority? Who made him President?
14. Yuli Tamir
Nurit ,   Beersheva   (05.19.09)
Yuli Tamir is sabotaging the State of Israel - in more ways than one. Thank G-d that she is not our Prime Minister. She would give the Arabs all of Israel and we'd be thrown into the sea.
15. Abbas and others
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron-Israel   (05.19.09)
Seems to me that there is an important point to be make clear before talking about anything: Negotiation is NOT we saying yes to all your demands, that IMPOSITION of rules. We are talking about negotiating and that means you ALWAYS get less than what you asked for, if you don't understand that, you are not only stupid, but cheating on everybody!
16. Yes he does, it's you who don't want peace; holocaust denier
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (05.19.09)
Abbas who spent his time in the Russian university writing a paper on the theme of denying that the holocaust never happened. Just imagne how messed up that is. And now he is the leader of the Arabs in Judea and Samaria. Go figure. He is somewhat polished, and has some manners when it comes to media and foreign relations. But it's just a facade; underneath his ehe is no better than any of the brown-shirts that ended up hanging in a rope in 1945.
17. Abbas what push or pressure
Sam ,   Nigeria   (05.19.09)
do you want America to stage on Israel and how far are you able to push Hammas ? You are already thinking on how to unite your forces with Hammas so that you could use the weapons given to you by Olmert to kill the Jews once again. Go and hide your face ambitious man.
18. Bibi does want peace
Yehudi ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.19.09)
The title of this article is nonsense. Of course Bibi wants peace. However experience has finally taught the Israelis that land for peace doesn't work. The Palestinian Arabs had an election and whom did they elect? Hamas none other. Israel pulled out of Gaza and what did the Palestinian in Gaza do? They turned Gaza into a launching pad for rockets against Israel. Again and again our experience has shown that whenever Israel make a peaceful gesture to the Palestinian Arabs they turn it against Israel. Let us not forget that the Government that they elected, Hamas, continually calls for the destruction of Israel. Hamas repeats over and over that they will never recognize the State of Israel. So why oh why should Bibi be enthusiastic about establishing a Palestinian state in the Land of Israel.
19. israel wont peace????
ale ,   Italia   (05.19.09)
israel doesn't want Peace. it's no a new. only Y.Rabin worked 4 Peace and his history describe us what israel really wont. israel is building THOUSANDS of illegals settlements.... israel is working for himself...not for peace.. or for goims peace.
20. #17 Sam, how about freedom for Ogoni Land?
Nour ,   Palestine   (05.19.09)
How about some freedom for the Ibos, and other oppressed masses in Nigeria? Of course, you're too busy building the world's largest churches in Lagos rather than tackle the corruption of your elite. You see Sam, just as the Nigerians got their independence and freedom from the settler colonists, so are Palestinians determined to free their lands from the racist Zionists. That's right Sam, keep on building your evangelical churches while corpses are left to rot on the streets of Lagos. Beg a little from Israel and their agric companies, won't change the fact that most Nigerians are friends of Palestine and freedom.
21. What did Mr abbas de hemar bring ?
Mike Van Harris ,   Antwerp Belgium   (05.19.09)
What did the so called President bring to the Palestinian people? setelments , distruction and misery. So president hemar get lost.
22. PA
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (05.19.09)
Give the Gaza strip to Egypt and the West Bank to Jordan and let them take care of their brothers (this includes retaliation if the terrorist attacks continue). Anything else won't work.
23. To: No. 22
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (05.19.09)
Coming from Germany, you should know better. Appeasement never works. Giving Germany Sudetenland did not work. Why should Israel give back any territory that serves as a buffer. The better solution is to keep the land; send the people to Jordan.
24. Nour, the "indigenous"
Chatich   (05.19.09)
You need to consult a dictionary (preferably an English one) before attempting to use words like indigenous. The only illegal presence in this land, Eretz Israel, the undeniable homeland of the Jews since long before the existence of Islam, is being perpetrated by the arab squatters/usurpers calling themselves 'palestinians'. You seem somewhat intelligent, if I was you (chas v'challilah) I'd worry less about sarah and more about your own flawed sources of information. Good luck...
25. To Nour...
Jonathan ,   Israel   (05.19.09)
I'm impressed by your use of the English language, and the fact you use your real name on the posts. Every time I see one of your posts, I read it, because I know I will discover another embedded lie of whatever history book you have read. We could all debate these matters all day, but here are some points you should chew on: 1.Your people are not dogs, they just choose to live in 6th century tribal mentality, and because of that have developed a low self esteem that makes them believe they are dogs. 2. The fact that Israel is willing to give anything to people that lost their land in war is beyond generous. 3. You may want to stop spewing hate online, especially when it's derived from some Muslim propaganda book. Get over it. Your people lost, and as much we would all like peace and quiet, it will not be on the terms you set. 4. No hates the Pali's more than their Arab brethren....That is a historical fact. 5. You are an uneducated moron, and obviously your hatred has turned you into a piece of cow dung.
26. Arab Initiative ambiguous. So is Netanhyahu.
Sam ,   Canada   (05.19.09)
The Arab Initiative is ambiguous on whether the Arabs demand an unlimited return of refugees into Israel. The impact is on whether Arabs support a genuine 2 state solution or 2 Palestinian states. The aim of the ambiguity by Arabs is getting the West to pressure Israel while mollifying their own people. Netanyahu shows great enthusiasm for peace talks while also being ambiguous on 2 states. He wants to please the West and mollify his supporters. It is Israel that controls the territory. It is for the Palestinians to make their intentions clear if they wish to have a state by peaceful means. Trying to "sell" Israel on 2 dubious states by threats of war,as King Abdullah of Jordan did, will not work. Israel has heard those threats many times before.
27. bibi ´´doesn´t want peace´´
moron ,   galut   (05.19.09)
bibi doesn´t want dhimmi status or worse---the peace of the grave is all the arabs offer....why call ´peace now´a peace group--it gives peace a bad name and delays it
28. But their own brothers don't want them in their
Maria ,   MD   (05.19.09)
countries: Jordan and Egypt I guess the Palestinians are the black sheep of the Arab world. They can't be trusted.
