1. yeah right, blame Israel for Syria's
ghostq   (05.20.09)
shortage of green papers. just as I thought you want to stop Iran you turn to Russia, USA is useless and won't do a damn thing.
2. Israeli response
(05.20.09)
Israel should respond by becoming allies with the Russians. Russian raw materials and military might in exchange for technology and development will benefit both sides. Unlike the Americans, the Russians are not dependent on Saudi oil, understand the threat of Jihad and will not sell out Israel.
3. Thank Tehran for this one
marc ,   israel   (05.20.09)
The Iranians stopped the funding as a warning to Syria to stop playing footsie with the Americans.
4. To #2 DO NOT TRUST RUSSIA

5. Jerks and Jets
John ,   Boise, Idaho, USA   (05.20.09)
If the Russians were real smart, they would sell them the jets complete with junk parts, take the money and run. Then whoever is in line for the next set of weapons, who wants to use them to "wipe Israel off the map" can get the same junk equipment. This way their economies can be depleted while they try to fix their presents, and the people who want to just raise their families and have a normal life, will complement their dictators (like A Mad Ninja) on their wise use of resources.
6. Coded Message
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (05.20.09)
Methinks Bibi send Putin the following message: "Your Mig 31s will not even get unpacked before becoming scrap metal on the tarmac of whatever Syrian airfield to which you deliver them. Russia does not wish any further humiliations in the middle east. Putin remembers 1981 Bekaa Valley. Ergo...no fighters to Syria!
7. GOODWILL, MAYBE ISRAEL SHOULD BUY THEM
