1. "childish": pathetic answer
Y ,   Nitzan   (05.20.09)
Better to speak the truth than use words like "childish". A second arab state (Jordan is one) in the Land of Israel endangers our security, gives away our G-d given Land and will make homeless tens of thousands of Jews at a cost of hundreds of billions of shekels.
2. seniors!; children are world majority, not Israeli minority
observer   (05.20.09)
childish is a generalized abusive term for children, you anti-pedos.
3. Bibi came home without breaking the trust of the voters who
Rivkah   (05.20.09)
elected him...at least, not so far. John Hagee on tv is telling viewers to oppose the two State solution for the Palestinians in Israel since that can only lead to war.
4. GOOD WORK Bibi
George ,   Haifa, Israel   (05.20.09)
Now get rid of Peres and Barak and we might have a fighting chance to survive
5. 2-State Solution Evil Not Childish
Lawrence ,   Safed Israel   (05.20.09)
Childish is more apt to describe the people who came up with this stupid term.Obama,Hillary and Kelly are malicious and ill-meaning regarding Israel, and Netanyahu is a Putz for not telling them to take a running jump.
6. why does Israel run to children to lead them ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (05.20.09)
The failed agenda of the U.S.Road Map is only fit to throw in the garbage. Does Israel need a trash can ?
7. A critical approuch over political delusions is right!
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (05.20.09)
Light must be thrown over this repetitive obsession of" two states for two people". There are other solutions to be put on the table on this matter.Transfer is the sanest and for sure fits real people, those who live in the ground and who for sure are looking to better their lives far for eternal fights. Money spend on this matter can be used much more wisely..
8. To Lawerence at #5
Matt ,   US   (05.20.09)
Please get your facts right before spouting off at the mouth. The two state solution was not invented by the Obama administration, it came before them. They are just advancing the Bush administrations policy. In fact, your countries best friend G.W. Bush, was the first US president to call for a Palestinian state and advanced several policies to advance the idea, aka the Road (2003) Map and the Annapolis Summit (2007). Why not call them evil, malicious and ill meaning? Your blind hatred for Obama has impared your judgement of this issue. To try to blame Obama/Clinton/Kerry for the concept and terminology of two states for two people, is both childish and stupid. The two state solution is not the best solution, i agree. But until someone comes up with a better idea (besdies banishing all the palis to Jordan or keeping the status quo forever), it will have to do.
9. childish
Obama ,   palestine usa   (05.20.09)
i obama says let the jews be homeless my good arabs not homeless need state in usa
10. "Two Sate Solution"? Two already exist!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (05.20.09)
Jordan is one and Israel is the other. This might sound extremely right wing but since most of the Arab/Muslim World and many countries highly critical of Israel constantly demand a "return to the June 1967" borders, is it not the most practical solution? The "Occupied" or "Liberated" territories would then be returned to Jordan and Israel can then enter into a lease agreement with Jordan as we did in the Peace Agreement with that country in 1993. In this situation the Palestinians would return to their roots under Jordan and the "Settlers" would also be happy as they can continue to live in the G-d given "Land of Israel". Peace Now! and B'tzelem could then monitor the way the Jordanians treat their poor Palestinian friends who would stick a knife in their Jewish backs without any hesitation! The only ones who would not be happy are a few Palestinians who are so desperate to create a totally fictitious state for a totally fictitious people. Gaza too should be returned to Egypt and this could be accomplished with the stroke of a pen as there are no naughty die hard settlers to remove from that hell hole. Ariel Sharon did us that favor! Of course, once done Israel could then be recognized by the Arab/Muslim world and life would be good for all. For all except Abu Mazen and his minions, including Hamas, as they would be out of a job!
11. #to observer the blind
Michael ,   Observer   (05.20.09)
as you probably know, Jewish people have already 5769 years history and even being a minority, we don't need a majority to be the main stream. You and the world think that Israel land doesn't belong to Israel people, or more exactly knows that this country belongs to jews but you can't accept that. So, if you have other friends in the world that think like you, tell them that Israel - the Nation doesn't care about minority or majority. Even if there are 1000 jews against billion "world" it still represent a minority to us.
12. Don't forget
(05.20.09)
this is your beloved George Bush's idea not Obama's !!!!!
13. Bibi we Love You!! Enough Crap!! Israel must Stand!!
Alastair ,   Australia   (05.20.09)
By herself! There will NEVER be peace with the Muslims! Hell Bent on the destruction of Israel from infancy!! But most Muslims will spend their eternity with their "Allah" or Lucifer, in Hell! We are so proud of you Bibi! You are THE MAN!! Obama is but an infantile Wolf in Sheeps Clothing!! He is the toolf of Satan, and the Man of Perdition (well, his fore-runner anyway!). May G-d Bless all the wonderful Evangelical Christians throughout the World that stand for G-d's LAND for HIS People!! Amen and Amen! Israel We LOVE You!! And we are WITH You!! Obama - you are not dealing with Bibi, with Israel, but G-d Almighty!! So Punk - do You Feel Lucky!!! Bye Bye Obama and your fellow Demons - sorry, I meant Democrats - sorry again - YES - One and the SAME!!
14. 2 states would mean 1 state for terrorists and 1 state for
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (05.20.09)
Jews. IF and when the terrorists want to be peaceful neighbors, they couldn't find a better neighbor than Israel. Until then they can continue teaching hatred in their schools and living as miserable failures.
15. The prime minister ill-advised to feel "contented"
Steve   (05.20.09)
President Obama has only begun to deal with the Jews. Mr. Obama fired his first salvo at Israel during his White House press briefing (with PM Netanyahu at his side) Monday when he told reporters, it is his intention to provide Israel's enemies "hope." Mr. Obama likes slogans. Obama: "the fact is, is that if the people of Gaza have no hope, if they can’t even get clean water at this point, if the border closures are so tight that it is impossible for reconstruction and humanitarian efforts to take place, then that is not going to be a recipe for Israel's long-term security......I have said before and I will repeat again that it is I believe in the interest ....of the United States and the international community to achieve a two-state solution in which Israelis and Palestinians are living side by side....", etc. "We have seen progress stalled on this front, and I suggested to the Prime Minister that he has an historic opportunity to get a serious movement on this issue... " This is only the beginning of Obama's push to dismantle and destroy Israel.
16. Matt #8 is right about one thing
Steve   (05.20.09)
Former President George W. Bush boasted that he was the first U.S. president to make a Muslim (enemy) state in Israel a formal goal of U.S. policy. Bush codified this "vision," this abomination (for the first time in the history of the GOP) in the 2004 national Republican party platform where it remains to this day. Barack Hussein Obama is pursuing Bush's "vision" with a vengeance. This is, in large part why Republican leaders are mute even as President Obama and the Democrats wage war on Israel; on the land of Israel. There is essentially no difference in vision or ideology between these two political parties. Both political parties share a commitment to Israel's dismemberment and destruction.
17. fools at bibi's right hand
avramele   (05.20.09)
ok, so let's call the very popular government of Israel's only friend childish and let's tell the President of Egypt to go to hell.... get a reality check! I'm afraid Israeli policy is too dominated by dillusional messianists wanting to die as shaheed's for a doubtfully Jewish cause (greater Israel and not the realistic zionist dream)... even Jabotinsky would be rolling over in his grave at this point!
18. 2 states for 2 people sounds great in an obama speech only
zionist forever   (05.20.09)
The US fixation of 2 states no more settlements, dividing Jerusalem is all very nice when your living like a king in the White House but Netanyahu has to consider the Knesset & public a little more. They might not be popular amongst the cosmopolotan Tel Avic sect but the settlement program still has a alot of muscle and can be the deciding factor between an election win or loss. Jerusalem again still raises alot of emotions and unlike Obama Bibi can be kicked out and an electon forced onto him if there is a succesfull no confidence vote in the Knesset and if there is an election then Bibi can't keep those promises. What looks great and easy on paper is easy but ones we start trying to put it inito reality problems start to occur and some of them can torpedo everything. Any deals require the majority of the public and majority of the Knesset and even then having the courage to stand up to all the people who are demonstrating against along with thei allies in other parts of the world like the US who are also against the concessions. That creates an extra worry for the US they have American jews with a vote and there are hundreds of thousands of US voters who made alliyah. The palestinians also have their farir share of people who will fight against the 2 state - 2 people.
19. fallacy and fantasy and amantra
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (05.20.09)
it is fantasy/fallacy /mantra that the two state solution will bring peace in fact the history since the oslo proceess proves that the peace process brings war and terrorism not only to israel but the whole of the world two examples the day before 9/11 the saudi ambassador agreed to impose a palestinian state on Israel and on 7/7 occurred when the G8 agreed to give billions to the palestinians the reason for this is that G-d does not want a palestinian state and making peace with them causes war as it says in deuteronomy ch7 v16 thy eye shall not have mercy on them ....since they will be an explosive mine to you .the Alshich comments that the word eye is seemingly innappropriate as the source of mercy is the heart the Alshich explains in line with quantum mechanic that how you view the enemy determines whether they are empowered or not having mercy makes them strong being tough on them makes them easy prey
20. The alternative new Government in Israel
Miguel Rodriguez ,   Isabela, Puerto Rico   (05.20.09)
If the israeli leadership can not deliver peace and Two state for two people they will have economic problems and lack of foreign (USA) tax payer money! Israel will have no stability, no peace and lack of well being of their own citizen. Israeli need to learn to listen to the people of the world...
21. NETANYAHU'S SECRET STRATEGY
Marcella   (05.20.09)
He will be ambiguous with Obama promising very little, obfuscating a lot. All that so as not to rock the boat at home. People are already praising him for standing "firm". But in the meantime.... He will continue to create facts on the ground to favor the Arabs. Look at Jerusalem, how it is all but divided now. There are sections where Jews are not allowed to enter except with military escort. The PA is active in education and other organizations in eastern Jerusalem, with the full approval of the government. And the US will continue to train the PA "special forces", and Israel will allow them increased areas for policing. Although the settlers may get a token here and there, so as to keep them wondering, the government will continue to decrease IDF and Israeli police protection for settlements and discourage any growth whatsoever. This is much more effective than making the division of the country and Jerusalem official. The Likud would not go along with it, and the political storm could cost Bibi his job. This way it's much easier. He can fool the right wingers while giving a wink at the PA. You'll hear a lot of grumbling by the PA but they know what's really going on.
22. Israel can learn from Sri Lanka outa all places
Yisraeli   (05.20.09)
Look at what a little country like Sri Lanka has done to its terrorists. She fought to the last terrorist in spite of calls of ceasefire by the International Community. But guess what? They are now no longer plagued by these terrorists. Their war is finally over. When will our war with those that want to destroy us be over? Little Sri Lanka has shown - when you have the will to finally vanquish your enemy so they no longer can wage war. The UN now calls for investigations of war crimes....sounds familiar? Israel would do well to learn from them.
23. Leftist press for 2 states.Likud wants to avoid heat.
Sam ,   Canada   (05.20.09)
The leftist Israeli press would like to see a 2 state solution so it keeps raising the issue. The Likud wants to avoid the heat from the USA and EU so it would prefer if the Israeli press kept quiet. Before fighting their fellow countrymen on the issue, the Israeli press would do well to push the Palestinians into admitting whether they accept a genuine 2 state solution as opposed to 2 Palestinian states.
24. To David: The Allon Modified is the Only Answer
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (05.20.09)
To David: Let's not be naive. Jordan has said consistently that it doesn't want 3m more Palis..and Egypt doesn't take kindly to 1.2m Palis (Strip). No country wants the Pales..not even the Palis (Fatah vs Hamas). Look, the Palis are more a threat to Jordan than Israel..and Hez is making inroads in the Sinai. Soooo, is there an alternative to 3 plans: one state, two states, a state Judenrein? Yes: Bibi's approach. Autonomy for the Palis under Israeli security OR the Allon Plan modified. Israel cannot rule in any way over the Palis indefinitely. It needs Arab support (at least neighboring states). Iran is the fly in this ointment. It's nukes will change balance of power..and force Egypt/Syria/Turkey to make their own nukes. A MAD situation will develop. But no my friend, Gaza and Ramallh must not be turned over to Egypt and Jordan. I have to disagree with that remedy.
25. To David (cont): Destroy the Head
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (05.20.09)
To David (cont): I have followed this conflict since 1967 and noted Israel's gross mistakes: One: not taking out Nasser's govt then. Two: not destroying Egypts 2nd and 3rd armies and Egypt's leadership in 73 (Sharon was near Cairo). Three: leaving Lebanon twice before destroying Arafat/Hezbollah. Four: not destroying Hamas recently in the Strip. Five: not occupying the Philadelpi Corridor (border) to stop the smuggling. Six: Olmert/Livni approving Annapolis. Seven: Not giving Iran a timeline (remember timelines?) of lets say 6m to comply with 3 UNSC resolutions per UN article allowing for self-defense. Hamas, Hez, the Palis ambitions and aggressiveness, Iran's playing with fire..has to be eroded seriously. A good offense is better than a mediocre defense. Israel needs a Shamir, Gurion, Dayan, Meir, Begin approach....as a leader (USA) said: destroy the head, and you kill the serpent (Gulf War). Saddam wasn't killed..and we got Iraq 2.
26. WHO IS BURIED AT THE TOMB OF THE PATRIARCHS?
andrew ,   miami,fl   (05.20.09)
HINT.. THEY ARE NOT PHILLISTINES, OR MOSLEMS
27. #21Marcella
Keren ,   Israel-SP   (05.21.09)
I don't doubt what you are saying since Netanyahu has been consistently proven to be a big cheater. It is a shame and it is sad...
28. #23 - Sam, Try more like 3 and a half Pal states!
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (05.21.09)
Jordan, the West Bank, Gaza and half of Israel!
29. #27 Keren
Marcella   (05.21.09)
It's good you agree with me, but on the other hand I wish things were different. I wish Bibi were thinking of his legacy and had changed his ways. However, I read the reports during the electoral campaign and I was quite disgusted at his treatment of Feiglin and his insistent courting of the left. That's why I don't trust him now. Netanyahu will have to be watched VERY closely and never trusted again. The anti-Two-State majority should not allow any more deception from him or anyone in government. You'll win, Karen. You'll need to fight many battles between now and the next elections, but you'll win.
30. I AGREE- SO GIVE APLESTINIANS FULL RIGHTS AND ONE VOTE
