31. Is this part the Israeli American attempt
David ,   Milwaukee   (05.24.09)
to create a Sunni Shii conflict?
32. Hizbollah to suffer from the revelations
Lebanese American ,   San Francisco   (05.24.09)
this is timely revelation that will help people who just think about supporting the "resistance" understand that its objective is domination. they live by the sword, maybe Nasrallah will soon die by the sword.
33. #7 - no more timely than a sudden Israel spy ring?
William ,   Israel   (05.24.09)
Perhaps the release was close to the election time - though not released in the ME - it was information in possession of the UN for some time, apparently. The real question is this - will the Arabs, and specifically Lebanon, allow a blood-thirsty Shiite with loyalties elsewhere and a passion for using his weapon on Leb citizens to hold a major part of the govt? It's Leb's future and their decision, not your's. I hope they make the right decision - the opposite of their past.
34. #9 - how's that economy going, Noor?
William ,   Israel   (05.24.09)
Funny, your comments are the very poison spouted by Hamas and the late Arafat. If it's good for Israel, even if it will save the Pals, it MUST be bad and thus should be rejected. Many Pal leaders have come and were rejected because their views of compromise and peace meant an end to "the resistance". It also meant the dawn of a new Palestinian age, a great economy, a strong infrastructure, and real education - not the BS on Pal TV. So, in short - Pals would shoot themselves in the foot if they thought it would hurt an Israeli. What has the 9 years of Intifada gotten you? Nothing! If you think it will continue to work in the ME, by all means, continue. But I think the rest of the ME really wants peace and to move on...except Arabs leaders who will lose power, and self-entitled Palestinians. Shame.
35. Mahmood - "All ordinary Lebanese will not buy this"
William ,   Israel   (05.24.09)
"And, once again, there was evidence of involvement by the Hezbollah commando unit, just as there has been in each of more than a dozen attacks against prominent Lebanese in the last four years." Taken from Ya Libnan, a Lebanese newspaper.... Yes, the ordinary Lebanese are waking up....to the devil inside their midst.

Birdi ,   Israel   (05.24.09)
Israel did not assassinate Harari, who was a moderate, who wanted to get Lebanon back to what it once was, before Nasrallah & his henchmen took over power. Harari wanted peace whereas Nasrallah wants war & destruction. Open your eyes will you.It is well known that Israel had no part in the Harari assassination.

Nasrallah is a hateful little man - he isnt fit to lead a country, not even fit to lead the boy scouts.Gd help Lebanon if he wins the elections.

I guess that would be the best solution !! for Lebanon & Israel. Inshallah.

I have been reeding your comments for a while ... more than a month I guess. May I suggest the following websites to visit, if you don' mind. http://www.haaretz.com/ and www.presstv.ir for other pespectives I promise you'll mke a lot of friends there. Perhaps Ynet is a bit "right wing" for you.
40. #9 Stop this...
Soeren ,   Cologne/Germany   (05.24.09)
... "resistance"-bullshit and resist your own stupidity. Your situation is all home-made. You believe in extremist right-wing groups – and therefore you believe in Hisbollah and Hamas. By the way, your approach didn't even work in the 1930s and 40s when the "Muslim brotherhood" and Arafats uncle al-Husseini were in intimate love with national socialism. People like you are the coffin nails of the Palestinian dreams and any rational solution. And too much money from the generous West – feeding you folks – allows that...
41. A folk that allows a terror group kill their prime minister
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (05.24.09)
The lebanese people don't seem to care. It's a normal thing in their culture - apparently. It's no wonder countries and people like these produce nothing but napkins and fruit-tobacco. Depraved is what they are. Sodom and Gomorrah in todays world.
42. it stopted
hmm   (05.24.09)
it stoped right after bashar assad met with sarkozy in Paris with kinda deal. imad they killed him themselves , i mean syrians and shiites ..
43. Hezbullah+Syria+Hamas=IRAN
Jewish Refugee   (05.24.09)
That said, Syria was not blamed for no reason. On the contrary Iran is now being blamed in the murder of Hariri. For more please visit: http://israelactnow.blogspot.com/
44. Who else..
Observer   (05.24.09)
Iranian shias clerics gang and Hezb are the direct heirs of the hachicahyin the "assassins" of the XII century. They belonge dalso to that heretic branch of islam. As them they practice muder and crime in trying to fulfill their political game. Harriri was murderer by nasralrtabecause he had that service to do to Syria to reward them for the arms supply the Damascus regim elet transit trough them. By teh way assad is a alawite, also a marginal branch relate dto shiism. Got the picture ?
45. I could have told them that,
ghostq   (05.24.09)
it's a nobrainer situation.
46. It wouldn't surpise me: Syria and Hizbullah are murderers
Samuel Prime ,   Canada   (05.24.09)
The complexion of the Lebanese people will be clear in this election (if it doesn't get rigged). Ditto Iran's election. Will their people vote for peace or for war? We'll soon find out.
47. Hezbollah are Genuinely Popular in Lebanon
Nour ,   Palestine   (05.24.09)
The more Israel and the other powers that be attempt to smear their image, the more popular they get. Remember what happened to Abbas' popularity when Olmert and Livni gave him a stamp of approval? It then follows that if Israel was serious about undermining Hezbollah, they would simply leave it alone and stop their ridiculous backroom PR campaign policy against Nasrallah. But the current situation points to a deep and acutely sharp uneasiness in Israel that Hezbollah will indeed win the elections and a new chapter started in Middle East politics. Hamas will be laughing all the way to Iran. If you ask me, Israel could have avoided all this mess since 1991 had it engaged its neighbors in real negotiations and in good faith. Of course, it preferred wars and more West Bank land-acquisition expeditions.

You are wrong. The Lebanese people care very much.Harari was respected and loved by many Lebanese citizens,They are a very cultured intelligent people.Depraved they are not.
49. MUCH TO THE CONTRARY...........#35
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (05.24.09)
Of you expectations,if you were to refer to local press in Beirut since this 'disclosure',exactly what one would logically predict has occured.Hizbullahs have been targeted and this comes as a 'back-fire' to those desiring to cause them harm before the elections.I don't know nor keen to predict the outcome of the Parliament elections on the 7th.June, one thing is for certain.............the plan did not work.Sorry,William
50. NOTHING AT ALL.....................#25

Look at the result of Hariri assassination then judge who killed him. 1.Syria out off Lebanon 2.Pro American Lebanese govt 3.2006 LEBANON War 4.More pressure on syria, iran and lebanon. What an Israel spy doing with 20 kg TNT in his home. Guys.. This is Cheny, Bandar bin Sultan, and Musad. OPERATION
53. to #47 lol but it was Arafat
ghostq   (05.24.09)
who refused Ehud Barak offer to the 67 borders idea in the 90's, you just got short memory. the one who missed was the palestinians, once again, and all this mess cause also be avoided if the palestinians had agreed to the the divition plan in 1947, get the pic, the more palestinian insist on not compromising the less they get.
54. #53 Baloney
Nour ,   Palestine   (05.24.09)
"who refused Ehud Barak offer to the 67 borders idea in the 90's, you just got short memory. the one who missed was the palestinians" Listen to yourself man. Arafat refused Barack's "offer" because under that "offer" Jews would get sovereignty over the entire temple mount, inluding underground. Apparently, you're uninformed and uneducated. Do yourself a favor and let it sink in: No Jerusalem do deal. Oh and we mind your threats of time "cheating us" as you put it because believe me it is Israel who already lost, both strategically and demographically. Again, the same thing could be said about your lousy leaders. Had they stopped their land greed and land-grab expeditions at the time of Oslo and its aftermath, we would have had peace by now. But apparently, Jews are determined to be forced out of this region...And history might just repeat itself. It's not too late though, just repent from land theft, withdraw to 1967, and return East Jerusalem to its rightful owners: Palestinian Arabs.

Jim ! Nasaralla Moral ? How moral can he be,firing missiles on civilians,in the service of an aspiring empire, and concerning arabs,10% of muslims are evil, and plan the destruction of this planet, while the rest of the Muslims, are sitting on the fence, wait and see, they too would like to enjoy the goodies on Allah's lap.How come ? No Mullah,Kadi,Imam, issued a Fatwa against Bin Laden,Hezbolla,Hamas,Ali Haminai, for killing innocent people on purpose,is it because they are cowards,or they themselves are terrorists.Islam today is where Christianity was a 1000 years ago, amoral, evil,i am right, you are wrong,go to hell.
56. #54 Baloney is right, Nour
Cynthia ,   USA   (05.24.09)
The Palestinians have sabotaged every attempt to negotiate a peace agreement with Israel. They pursued the armed struggle which has left them in chaos and stateless while Israel has every right to develop disputed territory. But tell me Nour, why would any Lebanese in their right mind vote for Nasrallah? Now implicated in Hariri's death and most likely responsible for Mughniyah's death. His 2006 blunder turned Lebanon into a graveyard while damaging Lebanon's already struggling economy. This cancer has only harmed Lebanon and like Iran, Nasrallah tries to win the election by scare tactics that he will protect Lebanon from big bad Israel. We cannot forget Nasrallah attacked Israeli soldiers patroling a peaceful border on Israel's side for self-promotion that now relegates Nasrallah to a hiding place where he shakes in his boots at the prospect of the IAF hovering overhead. It's about time the Lebanese took back their country!! Wouldn't you agree?

Noor ! Since when are you the righful owner of Jerusalem ? to you,Jerusalem is important, just because, Jerusalem is important to the Jews,:Monkey see ,monkey do,Even Mohamed recognized Jerusalem as a Jewish holy place, where the Jewish Tempel stood ,therefore ,he chose that place to ascend to haven,at the time of Mohamed,Jerusalem was already a holy Jewish city for 24 centuries.Reason and History are not compatible with Muslims of today.
