While in theory loving peace is great, there will always be bullies on the block who need a punch on the nose once in a while. Any perceived weakness and wavering by dreamers without a grip on reality, will be used and taken advantage of by tirants and dictators. Making peace can only be done, with readiness of an iron fist, just to make it clear, that there will be consequences, when basic rules are not followed.Obama and his weak European partners are making the same historic mistakes, we have seen before and caused two worldwars already.

unfortunately, Obama is a first-term prez. This means that his motivation is going to be overwhelmingly influenced by making sure he is able to secure a re-election. Since his constituency is a liberal base, that means he is going to be a peace-first, talk and sound good president. Clearly his strong suit. My prediction, Obama will present a sternly worded statement, presented in a way that enhances perception of him as a strong leader, but nothing of substance will come of it, other than US perception of Obama as a messiah being confirmed, and DPRK gives up nothing, and everyone sees the US has no real power at the moment.
