There is a whole lot more wrong with the system. People who are sincere, educated, and have tried to follow the non-existent rules have waited for years. The system is corrupt and in the past few years since the establishment of a "conversion committee" it has gone beyond insane. Why indeed do people want to convert--and why when they spend years are they denied without reason?

I would love to live in Israel. I have money, and a business, don't need your welfare, and would take nothing from the state. I am far, far, far more observant than 90% of my Israeli friends. I dearly love Israel and spend signifcant efforts to support her, so why am I not making aliyah? Because I have no intention of moving to Israel based upon a lie by faking an Orthodox conversion just to play pretend a lie to the Rabbinate. That is wrong on several levels! I am Conservative and I cannot stonmach the Reform movement. It is time the leaders of the Conservative movement helped us make aliyah w/o any attachment to Reformism. It is time the nation of Israel used it's greatest tool for securing the Jewish identity in Israel--allow us the become full citizens with all rights, just like the Orthodox! We are waiting on you! We want to be Israelis!

I am 3rd generation JEWISH AMERICAN. My mother is jewish, my grandmother is jewish, my great grandmother is jewish and my great great grandmother is jewish. my brothers both married israeli women in israel. i married an israeli man in israel. my brothers and i were all married by a orthodox rabbi. we were all raised in a CONSERATIVE JEWISH HOME. MY NEPHEW JUST GOT OUT OF GAZA, MY NIECE ALSO SERVED IN THE IDF. MY CHILDREN WILL ALSO SERVE IN THE IDF. I DO NOT GET ANY OF YOU. I HAVE NO PROBLEM LIVING IN ISRAEL AS A CONSERVATIVE JEW. BY CHILDREN WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM MARRYING IN ISRAEL. I THINK WHAT YOU ARE SAY IS AN EXCUSE NOT TO LEAVE AMERICA.

Isn't this a sin? Even God has not revoked the requirement of Torah/ How can one take on the requirements of Torah and then have a man who is not even a prophet revoke it. Rabbis as usual are pulling sin on the souls of the nation of Israel. Anyone who revokes what he has no jurisdiction to do so (even heaven won't do this), should be arrested and jailed, don't you think?

Yep, we have all kinds of varieties of Jews. We don't agree and many can't stand other varieties. So what. You want to join our tribe? Which variety? You can do so but not in Israel. In the USA, anything is possible and probable. Look at the goyem. Catholic, Protestant, Baptist, Greek Orthothox and on and on. They don't get along either. Nobody likes the pope, even the Catholics find him to not to their liking. Islam has only two varieties, they don't exactly get along with each other either. Killing the other variety, doesn't seem to be any kind of catastrophe. Personally, I have no interest in converting. I am what I am, a simple Jew and will remain so for the balance of my years. You want fight what's best for you; enjoy.
