As an Israeli living abroad, this idea of firefighters not doing their duty really bothers and disgusts me. I have been seeing it for a long time now but this is more evidence of Israeli society getting more and more rotten from within. The loss of basic morality and decency is a terrible thing and we have allowed ourselves to lose it. The situation is tough and for the sake of ourselves and our children we need to find a way out of this mess with the Palestinians. If we continue as is we lose ourselves completely. It shows itself in our delusion of electing an insane government (unfortunately we do not have any 'good' options) and hoping that things will get better and our perpetual individualism and corrupt society. We are in serious societal decline and have been for decades. We need to wake up, grow up and get out of our teenage years as a nation.

B"H In fact I ignored this aspect because I don't believe the story as it is given. Many times in the past ynet reported so called settlers, read Jews, doing things the Torah specifically prohibits us to do, so basically I don't buy the story as it is. Looks more like a propaganda piece.

To all Haters of the "settlements" in the "West Bank" Do you think for a second that if Israel gave in to Arabs and gave up Judea and Samaria, the Old City, half of Jerusalem and everything else that demand for their State, that they will be satisfied???? Arabs have made no secrect that they don't want to negotiate they want all of Israel, that includes you in Haifa and Tel Aviv. If you got your wish and the West Bank was free of Jews, it wouldn't take long for them to decide that they need the Ports of Haifa for trade, why should they suffer. And if you don't give up your house then they'll start start bombing you, until the World starts to feel bad for them and you get kicked out. You don't have to look to far in History to see that giving up land to the Arabs didn't work out to well for Israel.

How can there be "2 states for 2 people" if one side has to rely on the other to take care of something as basic as putting out a fire? Racism is what YOU exhibit in Italy when Albanian refugees arrive on your shores in makeshift boats. Racism is what Arabs exhibit when they called for exterminated Israel and the JEWS (not ALL Israelis, just the Jews). Arabs made themselves a separate group from the beginning, and exhorted their supremacy over others, including Christians. Well, what the Arabs are asking for right now is a lot like this situation.... They want complete autonomy to collect taxes, make intl trips, import weapons, and decide who to arrest...but they want Israeli utilities, intl donor money, and the right to kill whomever they want. Ergo, they want Israel to put out the fires and handle issues as if they are an occupying power, but not to arrest anyone for breaking the law or terrorism.

Arabs will not squat on Jewish Land. No arab can own, work, or use Jewish Land in any way. Land will burn under arabs. Firefighters' trucks will burn too, IDF escort or not. Nobody shall put out fires from under arabs!!!

It is a sad day for all Israelis when even those whose very job is to save lives and protect property have been polluted with such prejudice and hatred. The settlements simply come at too high a cost to the moral fabric of our society to justify their continuation.
