1. When does the UN investigation of Sri Lanka begin?

2. Israel's War Crimes
Jack Olson ,   USA   (06.01.09)
I guess the U.N. was useful for resolution 181, after that they are just biased anti-semites, oh except for Goldstone who of course is a self-hating Jew. Ironically it was Jews who were instrumental in the creation of the modern day international war crimes tribunal. When Israel is guilty of violations of international law suddenly anyone who wants a hearing becomes an anti-semite. Palestinians are Semites. So in this case it would be Pro-Semite, Palestine for Palestinians.
3. First the UN finds Israel guilty, then it looks for evidence
Gelua ,   Bar Giora, Israel   (06.01.09)
Do you really think we in Israel are idiots? Why would be cooperate with such people. Furthermore, the UN "inquires" about the thousands of shells fired by Israel during a single offensive to defend our civilian population... But the UN chooses not to "inquire" about the thousands of mortars, mortar shells and roadside explosives used against our civilian population during a course of years... The UN has done one single positive thing during its entire existence: It voted on 29 Nov 1947 for the establishment of Israel, and that is it.
4. Barak is correct: It will be a farce
Scott ,   Australia   (06.02.09)
"Speaking with reporters after the meeting, Barak explained that Israel would not cooperate with the UN investigation because by its very nature it cannot be objective. "The mandate that the Goldstone Committee got is to look into war crimes in regard to the operation in Gaza and from our experience, we well know that they will never be able to talk to the other side and to penetrate or to interrogate the series of terrorist operations along years, including thousands of rockets and missiles fell upon the heads of Israeli citizens in order to get an unbiased conclusion. This is what many people fear - but obviously not shared by Israel detractors who insist one way or another that this is just a one-sided affair. Shame on the UN. A complete waste of time , money, resources . wasted on the world's greatest complainers , murderers, cut throat bludgers. THIS is the reason why nobody has EVER been able to convince a workable majority of people to act against Israel.
5. Where was the un when the missiles were falling on Sderot.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.02.09)
Was that not a war crime? The un has no concern for truth, for honesty for honest reporting. Simply ignore the un inquiry and let them write their biased report, it will amount to nothing.
6. #2...
War Bird ,   Skies   (06.02.09)
JEWS created the modern day tribunal... Not Israeli's. Last time I checked no massacers by the hands of Jews was commited. But you say we cry anti-semite? Ovbiously when fleas like you cast all Jews in one lot. Plus your whole bit at the end about Palestinians raises no specter of a doubt that your support from the start (a bias) is thrown in with the "poor misbegotten Palestinians". Afterall the saint Arafat and his Gazan "successor" Haniyeh are paradigms of peace. The Geezer Mahmoodi is a close second to dumb (Arafat) and dumber (Haniyeh). Maybe I should be quiet Jack and just shine my horns... Or perhaps we can write a book together on how Henry Ford was right, that we Jews are the harbringers of all wars, blah blah blah. You know the sad part of this write up, Americans like you are the neo-haters who use more sophisticated language to mask the simple age old hatred. So nah, I'm not accusing you of being an anti-semite, your just a dim wit (by the way, the two go hand-in-hand).
7. no cooperation
Israel zwick ,   nyc   (06.02.09)
that's the way to go. There are wars in Africa that have been going on for years with real atrocities and humanitarian crises but the UN says nothing. It would rather condemn Israel for a 3-week limited war that ended 5 months ago. The best thing is to ignore them.
8. Guilty Of War Crimes Against Humanity
Jake ,   Zion   (06.02.09)
from the very beginning of the campaign to rip off the Palestinians until now. Payback is very near.
9. To #2: It is so easy to judge from where you
Vardina   (06.02.09)
are. I suggest that you lift your behind out of your comfortable armchair and come stay here, in Israel, for a few months, in those places where rockets from Gaza ruin the lives of Israeli citizens living within our internationally recognized borders and then tell us how would you react had anyone ruined the lives of you children and loved ones. It is so easy to preach from long distance not being confronted with facts. You are just a small prejudiced anti Israeli Jew hater. You are not antisemite as long as the semites are not Jews.
10. Why do we never hear calls for Hamas leaders to be ...
dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (06.02.09)
Why do we never hear calls for Hamas leaders to be charged with war crimes? Why, for example, do we hear no calls for human rights investigations into Hamas gunmen using Palestinian children as human shields? Why so few stories on the reports of Hamas assassins going to hospitals to hunt down their fellow Palestinians? And where are the international human rights groups demanding that Hamas stop blurring the most fundamental line in warfare: the distinction between civilian and combatant? Did the West surrender to Islam or does anti-Semitism prevail over justice? As to what Islam means for all of us consult : http://xrl.us/beja9g
11. UN
SMelmoth   (06.02.09)
The Gaza Strip? What about Darfur, Sri Lanka, Georgia, Iraq, and the others I can't think of, to say nothing of Gitmo. Or maybe, the UN knows that if it does go to those places, its "investigators" will never come out alive, so better to decide that Israel committed war crimes and then go looking for evidence.

one clueles jewish, it's a no brainer, the results already predetermind.
13. Israel expects the same old stuff from the UN
JO   (06.02.09)
The UN has proven it's moral duplicity long ago. It only has the comtempt of many. And Israel, the UN has no respect at all for it's judgements and probes. The conclusions of this probe can be already spelled out verbatim.
