Leave it to Obama to make a romantic spectacle out of these tired, tautological, moral-equivalency arguments. The US and UK must be taken to task for their own monstrous behavior, so that the hypocrisy may be exposed to scrutiny.
Consider the billions of trust dollars 'lost' by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, or the frequent confiscations of Indian-reservation gaming equipment organized by US marshalls. Or the US Navy's bombing runs that lay waste to Puerto Rican property. Or the US arming of the Afghan Arabs, Pakistan, and Iraq, and its wanton apathy toward prosecuting a war against the state sponsors of Islamic terrorism.
Consider the lasting, festering sores created by the British importation of Tamil peasants to Sri Lanka toward augmenting their "wasteland" policy against the Sinhalese, the creation of Pakistan, the installation of a Saudi monarchy in British-created Transjordan, and the multitudes of Jews shipped back by Britain to German concentration camps and displaced-people camps.
Israel is not to be lectured about the 'advisability' of its policies. If anything, Israel should adopt a flanking strategy against the US, UK, Spain, Ireland, Iran, and Venezuela consisting of show trials for military atrocities, conferences on behalf of 'repressed peoples,' and 'propaganda insurance' that protects any new policy required by the Jewish state.
