1. What about China?
Frank ,   Canada   (06.05.09)
Israel should seek some kind of alliance with China. This country will become a major power in the next decades and it's the right moment to start building the relationship.

its about time

Unfortunately I do not understand the foreign policy of President Obama. He is already considered as enemy of Israel. Because of a lack of loyalty to Israel, Israel is looking for new allies. Rapprochement between Jerusalem and Moscow do not serve any interest of America. Moscow rather look like they can trigger an actual force on Iran. Of course it won't be free of charge, Moscow wonts Israel high technology, and they will get it for the right price. If you still have any doubt about what it is, look at the following links. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3xOqibQ5qI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHMfViorO1c Results can be very serious to America Especially in the Hi - Tech. 5. Alliance Divergence
Jewish Refugee   (06.05.09)
As I have mentioned in of our previous articles regarding the change of alliances due to the new administration that is what happening right now. Washington is dropping Israel of the alliance list by switching them with Egypt and Saudi Arabia. While Israel might switch U.S. to Russia, China, or India. 6. Makes sense
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (06.05.09)
The United States need crude oil and markets for their products. Israel has neither and the Arabs have both. Russia has crude oil, but needs a base in the Mediterranean, assistance against Saudi sponsored Jihad and technology. Israel can give these and more.
7. High time for better understanding
Damir ,   Russia   (06.05.09)
Russia has growing interests in the Mideast. There is no reason why we shouldn't consider Israel as a partner. Many things are best done with Jewish state than with Arab countries.
8. Too much deep-seated Russ anti-Semitism 4 it to work
shneer   (06.05.09)
9. Improved ties with Russia should include Azerbaijan
Jake   (06.05.09)
A secular Moslem Turkic state already friendly to Israel (and with positive historical track record with its own Jewish population), on the borders of Iran, which Iran is working day and night to turn into another backward Islamic theocracy in its own image.
10. very very smart on Lieberman's part
avramele   (06.05.09)
the russians can give Lieberman asylum after he's indicted in Israel for corruption!

Plenty of deep-seated anti-Semitism in the US State Department as well. Interests are interests. If the US is no longer cognizant of the contributions Israel has made, than perhaps we should take our expertise elsewhere. Just sayin'...
12. Smart to engage Russia
GHook93 ,   Chicago   (06.05.09)
Russia has a Muslim problem with a 25% disenchanted Muslim minority that is rapidly growing, while the white Russian population is decreasing. Ethnic Russians are marked as some of the most racist on the planet so their is a cultural clahs a brewing. However, Russia is deeply rooted in antisemitism. Remember the Proctor of Elders of Zion, many in Russia still hold it as true. Proceed with caution Israel, but remember America is Israel only true friend!
13. Bla, bla, bla..., in fact America is Nr 2!
Gavriel ,   Budapest, Hungary   (06.05.09)
The officials can say what ever they want... The fact is that the US is becoming a second partner and Russia will probably take the "empty" seat! Good! Sposibo, Mr Obama Husseini! The interests of Israel and of the Jewish people is not equal to the interests of "Obama America".
14. Jake 9, that will put Jews at odds with their natural allies
Historian ,   USA   (06.05.09)
the Armenians, the Kurds, and the Assyrians/Chaldeans. This will also have the added benefit of allowing them to improve ties with Lebanese and Palestinian Christians and further drive a wedge between them and their Muslim counterparts. What it boils down to is that indigenous peoples have a moral obligation to support other indigenous peoples. The Jewish people must make every effort to reverse the tide of the current political rhetoric to portray the Arab/Muslim hordes as the "occupiers" and "colonists" they truly are. This means sacrificing short-term political gains.
