How transparent are you guys anyway? Can the IAEF come and inspect you anytime? How many nukes have you actually got Israel? Huh?
2. Yes, because 200 ACTUAL nukes...
Terry ,   Chicago, IL   (06.06.09)
in Israel are not worthy of being reprimanded. Just those of its neighbors. It's their fault they weren't chosen by God. And may NY's Sarah please put a sock in it. I'm sick of your pity party.

4. Syria!, Leave
observer   (06.06.09)
Article X of the NNPT allows a state to leave the treaty if "extraordinary events, related to the subject matter of this Treaty, have jeopardized the supreme interests of its country", giving three months' (ninety days') notice. Israel used bunker busters bombs containing depleted uranium against civilian targets in Lebanon, and then against targets in Syria. So, any country who have depleted or enriched uranium can just drop them on Syria, then cry wolf.

It's the IAEA not IAEF Israel didn't sign the NPT so has no obligation to disclose how many Nukes she has or hasn't. Terry in Chicago Your right about 'not worthy of being reprimanded' for the above reason. As for Nukes in the wrong hands...well use your common sense......prefer Iran to have them? Btw, If you have problem with NY Sarah, maybe you're just sick period
6. #1, #2 For the thousanth time, Israel didn't sign the NPA.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (06.06.09)
And Syria *did*! Syria is in violation of a treaty it signed, and which has benefited it economically and diplomatically worldwide.

9. Hey, Israel, you have ILLEGALLY-HELD nukes!
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.07.09)
Who are you to tell what other states can do when you're doing something illegal? Are you trying to divert attention from your mysterious nuclear program? You arent a signatory of the NPT or any nuclear organization/treaty for that matter, and you denied the IAEA and UN weapons inspectors from going in and inspecting your sites! HYPOCRITES, I tell you, HYPOCRITES!!!
10. Mark, you have a problem.
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.07.09)
"Israel didn't sign the NPT so has no obligation to disclose how many Nukes she has or hasn't. " Yes, which also means it has to disarm itself from these nukes since it's not a member. Iran has a much more right to develop nukes than Israel because it is a signatory of the NPT. Israel is NOT, which means it cannot possess nukes. "As for Nukes in the wrong hands...well use your common sense......prefer Iran to have them? " Iran doesnt have nukes and never will. Iran, unlike Israel, has proudly invited the IAEA and UN weapons inspectors to go in and inspect their sites and every single time, these two entities have concluded that iran is enriching at a normal rate, enough to provide nuclear energy for peaceful pruposes and NOT enough to build nukes. Israel has kept its nukes secret until just recently. Gee, Mark, which country has committed policies of ethnic cleansing and territorial expansion because of either political motives or because God "said so?" Not Iran. Is Iran occupying and controlling a people by use of military force and collective punishment? No! So, YOU use your common sense, please.
11. #9 Israel have nukes to protect idiots like you
Zohan ,   Tel Aviv   (06.07.09)
You think Iran would even consider you in Palistine if they decide to nuke Israel? I was just wondering what was the reason Damascus was to be destroyed in Isaiah 17:1. I am very sure nuke is used, though
12. The Syria-Iran axis
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (06.07.09)
Irrespective of the Arab-Israeli conflict and Israel’s existence, the ties with Iran constitutes – for the ruthless Assad regime – an indispensable financial, diplomatic and military means of survival. The Syria-Iran axis bolsters Assad’s policies on the most critical fronts: Domestic, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Turkey, Russia and the USA. Assad’s fundamental interests conflict with fundamental US values and interests. More about the Assad family at : http://xrl.us/bjcsd

14. Israel has no right to talk
Jerry Haas ,   Amsterdam   (06.07.09)
Get rid of your own covert nucleair weapon program, sign the the NPT and you get the moral right to lecture others. But before that nobody is listening.

Stephen ,   Tijuana, B.C. Mexico   (06.07.09)
How can Israel, the all time king of covert nuclear weapons programs, make statements like that? I guess it's just to be expected in the post-bush world
17. Israel, like Pakistan and India, is not subject to IAEA.
Jgarbuz ,   Queens, NY   (06.07.09)
Only countries that signed the NPT are subject to inspection. Countries that did not sign the UN treaty , such as Israel, Pakistan and India are not subject to UN inspections. But they are also not allowed to purchase reactors or other nuclear materiel in legal open markets, as are the signatories to the treaty. Also, the declared nuclear states, such as the US, UK, Russia, France and China also do not have to open up for international inspection. It's a convoluted treaty.
18. They should NOT have signed the treaty!
jgarbuz ,   Queens, NY   (06.07.09)
India, Pakistan and Israel did NOT sign the 1969 NP treaty and so are NOT subject to UN inspections by the IAEA. But, as a result, none of them may legally buy any reactors or nuclear materiel from commercial vendors. They must produce everything indigenously. No one forced Iran or North Korea to sign the treaty. They only did so back then to be able to buy knowledge and technology on the legal open nuclear industry marketplace.
19. Any country that did not sign the treaty
jgarbuz@netzsero.com ,   Queens, NY   (06.07.09)
has the right to produce atomic bombs, as long as they do not acquire anything from abroad. It must be indigenous. But Israel, France and the old nuclear powers (US, UK, Russia, CHina) all developed BEFORE 1969 when the treaty was drafted. So they are immune. Those countries that sought weapons after 1969 may do so if they DID NOT sign the treaty. The treaty is the key to what is legal or illegal in international law.

israel IS NOT A MEMBER OF THE NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION TREATY. thus, no one has the legal or international right to investigate what israel has. it is not a signatory to the npt doccument. however, syria and iran ARE SIGNATORIES OF THE NPT and therefore answerable to its laws and demands for complete transparency. the nuclear watch dog can't demand the same of israel because israel simply neversigned the doccument requiring complete transparency. hence, the difference. additionally, i would never be afraid to see nuclear weapons in israeli hands. but, in iran and syria with an unstable and crazy violent despotic and insanely dangerous government with a jihadi terrorist mind set, i will be very very worried if they get their filthy hands on such nuclear devices. big difference between israel and the mullah crazy regimes. hameed aboughaze

it was syria who claimed to the nuclear watch dog that the traces of enriched uranium found at the bombed site in syria came from the israeli bombs. the nuclear commision after inspecting the site and finding massive traces of enriched uranium in syria told syria that it IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE FOR THE ISRAELI BOMBS TO HAVE BEEN RELEASING SUCH CHEMICALS. NOT POSSIBLE, IS WHAT THEY SAID. syria was caught red handed by the the nuclear investigators and tried to cover the result by laying blame on the israeli bobs. it didn't work! syria, a signatory to the npt has gone beyond the international community and the npt's back and created, with the help of the iranians (money) and north koreans (the building of the nuclear reactor in syria) a clandestine nuclear reactor to process enough enricjed uranium for the iranians to get a bomb. israel caught them and bombed it!!! by the way, no bunker buster bombs have any trace of depleted uranium to speak of. read jane magazine. you are an uniformed fool who likes to lie and agitate. hameed aboughaze

noor, i have news for you. you yourself stated that ISRAEL IS NOT A SIFNATORY TO THE NPT DOCCUMENT. you are right in this case. what you forgot to mention though is that by not being a signatory, israel is 100% legal in denying anyone from inspecting its nuclear sites. there is no legal matter which israel has not respected here. on the other hand, both syria and iran ARE SIGNATORIES TO THIS NPT AND SO, THEY MUST CLAIM ALL NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION OR BUILDING ACTIVITIES TO THE NUCLEAR WATCHDOG COMMISION. they didn't, and clandestinely developed reactors in which traces of enriched uranium were found. this is against the npt understanding. israel has nothing to do with this npt doccument and is not legally bound to disclose any of its activities in nuclear matters. however, iran and syria do have to do so legally. they didn't and secretly betrayed this treaty. hence, the legal accusations by the nuclear watch dog and by israel. israel didn't do one wrong thing here. iran and syria did! yes, it upsets you. but these are the international laws and rules both syria and iran signed and are obliged to respect legally.
23. #21 why would Syria bother dispersing Israel's allegation
(06.09.09)
that its bunker buster bombs didn't contain Uranium. N. Korea has lready left the treaty.
