May these numbers grow, and may many more come to enjoy the many wonders of the region. May they enjoy the many unique sounds, tastes and sights. May the merchants, guides, restaurants, transport and hotels all smile at the end of the day. Peace.

Went to Petra two weeks ago. Tour guide met us at the border and took care of everything, the paperwork, the hotel, jeep ride, travel to and from Petra and helped with our Kosher dietary restrictions. You can reach them at info@jordantours-travel.com Very reasonable price. A trip you'll never forget!

Unfortunately, I've heard far too many horror stories of Jordanians trying to visit relatives in Israel: 7 hour stops at the border, humiliating and unnecessary searches of people, Israeli border police taking passports for hours for no apparent reason. The list goes on and on! I've had far too many friends tell me these stories!
9. Canadian English?

As an inhabitant of Canada one/half the year, I beg to be informed in what way we differ in the speaking of English other than the occasional "eh" at the end of a sentence unless you mean the English spoken by Newfoundlanders in which case the language should be referred to as "Newfounese", eh!

Some of you twist your mouth into a prune shape when you say "about" making the last syllable it sound Scottish. Quite refreshing I think, so much more CIVILISED than those primitive Yanks who own guns, watch Fox News and blow their noses onto the ground.

There are very strict security controls at the borders with Jordan ( and other points of entry into Israel) I am an Israeli and have been held up for 30-45 minutes at the border coming back from visits to Jordan. And by the way , there are thousands of Jordanian citizens illegally working in Israel ( people that came as tourists and stayed). Have you visited the USA and European countries lately?, security checks are very strict. !!!

well, im sure you know that one can not know your true intentions unless being checked. im aware of the sometimes problematic border crossing. as an israeli entering the usa, ive had lots of problems. it took me lots of time to get a visa, even thought i have family in usa. i assume as long as there is terror and war, we will all not benefit from it. bottom line - i understand your frustration but i also understand why the strict security is needed.
