The lack of neutrality is not due to the committee's ethnic origins. Even if it were the other way around (10 Jews, one Arab) would you really expect the UN to appoint Jews who are not of the self-loathing kind? These Jews like Richard Goldstein (misspelling is intentional) make the perfect case for the UN.

So, after eight years of daily missile barrages fired by an enemy committed to the destruction of the State of Israel, Israel finally retaliates. Hamas hides among civilians, in hospitals, schools and mosques. Significant weapons caches were found in all three supposedly noncombatant types of structures. To hell with everyone who accuses Israel of war crimes. There is far worse goings-on in the world today. There are places on this planet where the civilian death tolls are in the hundreds of thousands, and even millions. I hope Israel has learned its lesson -- next time (and there will be a next time, because Hamas are terrorist animals not interested in peaceful co-existence) Israel should carpet bomb Gaza to hell and gone. In the meantime, the United Nations should busy itself in the Congo, Somalia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Chechnya, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan. If they are serious about investigating war crimes, those are very good places to investigate.

Israel seems to be the only nation in the world that needs to answer to the UN for every bomb it drops and every bullet it fires. No other nation is subject to such scrutiny.

goldstone's mission was clearly biased, to investigate ISRAELI war crimes, so it's obvious why he's "facing obstacles" - israel should not cooperate with such a blatant propaganda exercise. it would seem that he is oblivious to the obvious war crimes committed by hamas - the use of civilians as human shields, and the cynical abuse of homes, hospitals, mosques, and schools to conduct military operations. what difficulties does he have documenting the 10,000+ kassams fired at israeli civilians, every one of which is a war crime? and his lack of progress didn't stop the associated press from repeating every possible false accusation against israel.

Point one: There are many Nazi war criminals living quite nicely in any number of Western countries -- and some others -- who have never been held accountable. Point two: Through euthanasia, death camps, bombing and war (particularly the Russian campaign), the Nazis were responsible for over 50 million deaths. If you add to that number the German civilians who perished in the relentless Allied bombing of Germany, the number goes up another 3 to 4 million. If that's your standard of measure, there is nothing to hold Israel accountable for. Hamas, on the other hand, is accountable for quite a bit. So shut your mouth, you ignorant fool.
