1. Iran
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (06.13.09)
What kind of a Democracy is it ?,nobody had run against Khaminey, there were elections under Stalin too,and Stalin always won,as Stalin said:it's not important how many people vote, what's important ,is who counts the votes,Stalin and Khaminey are right, the people don't know what is good for them, therefore they have big brother who knows what's best.
2. Ynet news is much better than the American media.
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.13.09)
Rather than provide footage showing the Ahmadinejad supporters of Iran celebrating this historic election, the American media shows clashes and demonstrations in Iran, fooling the American people into thinking that all of Iran is in outrage. At leat Ynet shows some pictures showing supporters of Iran celebrating.
3. No matter what
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.13.09)
No matter what America and Israel think about Iran and Ahmadinejad, they will fail in destabilizing the country and attacking it with weapons. Iran will prevail against all evils, including imperialism.
4. #3 Kiss Palestinian statehood goodbye
Cynthia ,   USA   (06.13.09)
The regional destabilizer is the Iranian Regime. Eyes wide open Noor? See how the Regime occupiers of Iran treat their own people. The Palestinians are nothing more than disposable shahids for Iran.
5. #3 Noor from "Palestine"
shmulke ,   w coast, USA   (06.13.09)
Noor you're an idiot. Who's behaving more evil and imperialistic than Iran these days? (N. Korea maybe) The majority of the mideast does NOT want to see Iran get nukes, which they are hellbent on achieving, not just to attack/deter Israel, but also to extend Iranian power throughout the mideast, including controlling Syria, Lebanon and, yes, even that mythical country you call "Palestine".

J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (06.13.09)
Noor ! If Achmadjenoon won the election fairly, one vonders, the reason, high inflation, high unemployment, so,one must conclude, that the majority of the Iranian people share his view about big and little satan, and it is really heartening to see all those women covered in black, like a flock of crows cheering the Messiah, and they are willing to pay any price in order to destroy the 2 satans,so,see you at the duel at high noon.

10. Noor, iran democracy is FAR from perfect
Nour ,   Palestine   (06.13.09)
Adulterers are routinely stoned, and teenagers hung for the most ridiculous of reasons (homosexuality, etc.). Despite this I sincerely was hoping for peaceful elections, which was the case. Israel now can eat its heart, it's dealing with a very, very determined rival in the region. We no longer have one pole in the region but 2. Iran should smarten up and realize it's not in their interest to fuel Palestinian division and at least stop inciting/undermining the PA and PLO. If it wants more respect from Arabs it should stop arming Hamas and other outcast militias in Palestine. It's killing our cause. The Palestinian question is nearing a fair resolution, inshallah!

17. iranian police beating citizens
edward ,   las vegas   (06.13.09)
if the reports are true that the police are beating the citizens protesting, it can at least be said that the idf and they both have something in common. well, the idf uses live ammunition against palestinians, but essentially the same policy of the unnecessary use of force against unarmed civilians
18. lol @ #5 shmulke
edward ,   las vegas   (06.13.09)
you are the idiot, typical american just throws rhetoric out there. u said, "Who's behaving more evil and imperialistic than Iran these days?" lets see, what does "imperialistic" mean: the policy of extending the rule or authority of an empire or nation over foreign countries, or of acquiring and holding colonies and dependencies. let's see, who does THAT??? the united states and israel are the two most imperialistic nations on the planet. the us invades other countries more than any other country besides israel. israel steals land that nobody in the world thinks is theirs. when is the last time iran invaded a country? not in the past 1000 years. iran has a lot of problems, and this "election" exposes their tyrannical regime as nothing close to a democracy. but to call them imperialistic is idiotic.
19. J.K. you know NOTHING about Iran
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.13.09)
The Iranian people are more concerned about Amercian Imperialism as well as its and Israel's constant threats that are directed at the country daily. The Iranian people know that Moussavi is a pro-western candidate whose interests share the approach of the west than the Iranians. Ahmadinejad so far has protected his country from American influence and imperialism as well as any attacks from the two countries. Ahmadinejad went on the platform that he would fight against corruption, and he did so successfully. The fact that the Iranians as a whole support their country's legitimate right for its nuclear program and Ahmadinejad has protected this kind of aspiration shows that the people have anything but negative feelings for ahmadinejad. Even the reformists mentioned nothing about Iran's current economic situation. Their main complaints were directed at how Ahmadinejad supposedly gave Iran a "bad image" in the face of the international world and that they wanted more freedoms. Nothing about the economy! To be honest, Iran has always had problems with the economy, but the Iranians care more about defending their country form any attacks and imperialism than the economy. And this election has proven that. Don't forget that during Moussavi's role as PM during the Iran/ Iraq war, Iranians were being slaughtered by weapons, including chemical ones. No war during ahmadinejad's time and even though Iran was sanctioned, it failed to weaken the country. Iran will prevail!
20. #9, Is that what your dada told you?
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.13.09)
21. ah Iranian "democracy", vote early vote often!!
Danny   (06.13.09)
22. #18, so South Lebanon and Gaza have nothing to do with Iran?
Danny   (06.13.09)
No dependency there at all. Just like Syria is entirely independent. Just like in 1982 after stopping Iraq they didn't spend the next 6 years trying to conquer bits of it. Just like the Shia militia were all 100% independent of Iran. Just because the Iranians haven't been competent in their direct fighting doesn't make them innocent bystanders.
