Mike, under tradtitional Jewish law a person is Jewish if their mother is Jewish or if they convert to Judaism. Under the most extreme reform view a person a Jewish if one parent is and they identify as Jewish; since neither if the case with the terrorist under discussion, he is not Jewish but has some Jewish ancestry - a further argument for Jews to marry only Jews.
