6. 2014?
al ,   canada   (06.16.09)
How do Israel's leaders expect the world community to believe them, and to listen to their warnings when they keep changing. Before they said Iran would have the bomb by 2009, then 2010, then 2012 , now 2014? what's going on, really.

10. Reaction and reform
John ,   Boise, Idaho, USA   (06.16.09)
There is a big difference between 'reaction' and 'revolution" and "revival" and "reform," and what we are seeing is Iran is change within and the form it will take. The common people will not stand for what has taken place under the authoritarian rule of Khamenei. Iran's change will be within, and they will rid themselves of "inside" threats.
11. Al, they're a bunch of worthless losers...
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.16.09)
who know that the world doesnt give to piles of cow manure about them anymore. The world knows that Israel is full of lies and deciet. If Israel wishes to take military action against iran, I assure you it will be unilateral, for NO country will take part in such a catastrophic mistake. That's for sure. Why do you think Israel hasn't done anything about it? BECAUSE IT IS IN FEAR! Iran will have nuclear energy whether the Israelis like it or not!
12. DT, disarm your country first before...
Noor ,   Palestine   (06.16.09)
placing your rear in someone else's business. Your country is the only one with nukes in the region. Iran's enrichment rate is at 5%; to be considered developing a weapon, the rate has to be at or above 90%. This has been confirmed by IAEA and UN weapons inspectors. Israel was demanded by both the UN (which Israel is a member of whether it pleases you or not) and the IAEA to have weapons inspectors enter the country and inspect its nuclear sites. Israel rejected. On the other hand, Iran welcomed them. Why did Israel refuse? Something to hide? Iran is a signatory of the NPT; Israel is not. Israel is the threat, not Iran. Get real, bozo.

hi you are intelligant and full f fire. i would enjoy very much a quiet and serious converstation with you. israel is not butting into its sourrounding neighboors buisness, israel would love to not have to babysit its neighboors who simply cannot be trusted to behave themselfs. I think that israel cannot afford to lose it identity as a jewish nation by agreeing to absorb arab refuges. you are, i suspect, an arab christian. do you think that Islam is capable of co existing with israel as a jewish state?
14. Mosad's twisted view of the World
Mani Nahavandi ,   Tehran   (06.16.09)
The demonstrations are limited to Tehran and one other province??? Mosad, as a top-rated intelligence service, is well aware that the demonstrations are on going right now in EVEY major city of Iran; Tehran, Shiraz, Esfahan, Tabriz, Zanjan, Babol, Ahwaz, etc. All in Iran know full well that Mosad is against tje freedom movement in Iran. They WANT Ahmadinejad in power. An isolated Iran led by a far right holocoust-denying religous zelot makes the arguement for bombing Iran that much easier. But the people of Iran are smart to Israel's policy and will continue their fight for freedom and Iran's re-integration with the World, no matter what lies and mis-information Mosad propogates. True followers of Moses and Yahve will support and pray for the freedom loving demonstrators being beaten and shot at in Iran.

Are you kidding? Israel is THRILLED that Ahmadinejad won the election. That way all the sanctions imposed against Iran by the West remain in place! Mousavi is no "moderate," but he is perceived as such in the West. An Ahmadinejad victory is a victory for Israel and continued sanctions against Iran. Don't like it? Like I care what you like and don't like .....

The sanctions are having a big effect on Iran's nuclear ambitions. They cannot get the high-tensile parts they need for their centrifuges (what they got from North Korea isn't very good, and will not allow them to enrich at the rate they had hoped). Despite the trumpeting coming out of Iran several months ago, the fact is that the Bushehr facility has not come on line. Neither has the much smaller facility in Isfahan. And that is why they keep pushing back the date. Their oil revenues are not what they once were, the country is in turmoil and disarray and with nearly 60% of the population under the age of 40 -- might even be 30; I'd have to look it up -- and with a staggering unemployment rate and discontented masses, with widespread resentment among the people for those well-fed and well-to-do mullahs and ayatollahs, Iran is not in a good place.
17. Interesting news item ....
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (06.17.09)
From the Stratfor Intelligencer "U.S. President Barack Obama on June 16 held a joint news conference with South Korean President Lee Myung Bak after meeting at the White House, media reported. Obama said, “We have not come to a conclusion that North Korea will or should be a nuclear power.” He said North Korea had “belligerently” threatened neighboring countries, and that a nuclear North “would be a destabilizing situation that would be a profound threat.” So belligerent threats made by North Korea to South Korea allows Obama to come to the conclusion that North Korea should not be a nuclear power, but more direct belligerent threats made by Iran to Israel ("Zionist entity," of course, this being Iran) do not trouble Obama in the least. What a hypocrite. Not an ounce of credibility in him.

There is only one country in the world that is like a newborn baby with wild wolves all around it and that is Israel. You may not be old enough but almost all of the Arab nations have at one point or another threatened to destroy Israel. In 1948 seven arab armies attacked the new Jewish state with the only goal: its destruction. This was less than 5 years after the world conspired to eradicate teh entire Jewish population of Europe and even the world. In 1966, after Jordan and Egypt signed a treaty to join forces, Umm Kalthoum composed a song, with the following lyrics: we are going back by force of arms. We are going back like morning after the dark night Army of Arabsim, may Allah be with you. Oh how great splendid and brave you are. Contingency plans were drawn up to convert Tel aviv's Meir Park to a giant cemetery. A lot has changed since then and Israel has committed many many mistakes since then but the development of a nuclear weapon is not one of them. Perhaps things have changed and perhaps Israel no longer needs such weapons but when the weapon was developed it was done so for one purpose only: to ensure the survival of the Jewish people. To compare Israel to Iran, who has NO natual enemies is not only unfair, it ignores the history of the last 75 years.
19. #12, Israel has not threatened any country
Steve   (06.17.09)
Israel has never threatened to wipe another country off the map. Israel developed nuclear weapons as a deterrent, because it was surrounded by hostile Arab countries with Islamofacist governments, whose leaders openly declared that they would destroy Israel. In contrast, Iranian President & Chief Holocaust denier Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has clearly stated the following: - "as the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map." - "The Zionists are crooks. A small handful of Zionists, with a very intricate organization, have taken over the power centers of the world" That is why Iran cannot and will not be allowed to develop nuclear weapons.
20. #19 Stop pressing <snooze> and WAKE UP
Nour ,   Palestine   (06.17.09)
Of course Israel hasn't threatened anyone in the region. It has gone BEYOND words and bommbed thousands of innocent civilians to smithereens in the past 40 years. Actions speek louder than words. Savage conduct is not tolerated this is exactly why I expect sanctions to be imposed on the apartheid regime very soon.

So now you're crying poor, poor pitiful Palestinians. Your wars haven't worked, your terror hasn't worked and now you really think that the world will fix your problems in light of the fact that you have rejected EVERY two-state offer and you have been your own worst enemies. No one will reward you because that would entail flouting every known recognized international convention. Your future is in Jordan. Go willingly ... go unwillingly. Makes no never mind to me. We are so, so sick of you!

Too bad you lost! Your Likudnik prime ministe even spelled it: 2-states darling, and that excludes Jordan. Jerusalem is ours (The old city not ugly Modern buildings to the west), R of R shoved down your throat and you WILL pay up baby, 60 years of disposession, and it will be a real state meaning we'll arm ourselves to the teeth to make sure you don't embark on anymore Zionist adventures. That's right Sarah, times up. People like you are now round up, except the job's already done as I see you prefer the vibrancy of Nooo York. Now beat it.

I remember when Ehud Barak said the same thing. I remember when Ehud Olmert said the same thing. Gosh, going back 10, 15 years. Just because Bibi said it does not mean he's going to do it. Haven't you figured it out yet? We're playing you for the fools you are. Until you beat it to Jordan or wherever hellhole in the world you would like us to despatch you! How about in the Taliban-controlled areas of Afghanistan or Pakistan? I'm sure you'd look simply fetching in a burkha, and you probably wouldn't want to hold a profession or educate your daughters. Arabs, Moslems -- both primitive. You people are the biggest threat to civilization going. Everything you touch you defile and despoil. On the bright side --- you won't be doing it in Eretz Israel for very much longer! I'll distribute candies on that fine day!
24. #23 You're such a bore

So predictable....I mean come on you expect me to reply to the same rhetorical and racist crap you keep regurgitating? Honey I have a life, you don't.

As long as you keep spouting your nonsensical and inaccurate interpretations of historical fact, yes, I have to keep posting. Believe me, I get extremely bored repeating myself all the time -- I just figure you aren't quite smart enough to grasp some pretty simple concepts. A physician friend of mine has told me that genetic defects in Arab populations are staggeringly high (it is SUCH a bad idea to marry your uncle or your first cousin). I chalked your inability to learn up to that. That said, I do get so tired of reading the tripe you post. Saddest part is -- you've actually come to believe it yourself. How sad. I do have a life. I'm glad to learn that you do, too. Too bad you won't get to spend the rest of it in Eretz Israel. I will. Cheeribye. Don't let the door hit you in the backside on your way out.
