1. Poor woman
daniel   (06.17.09)
What a life.
2. Why does Israel not just go get her or make peace talks
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (06.17.09)
dependent on her release? Why don't they free her like Pollard? OOPS, maybe she will be in jail forever if Israel cares as much about her as they do for Jonathon Pollard. Excuse me, did Bibi ever ask o-bum-a how Pollard is doing and how soon would he like the "peace talks" to star?.
3. Poor Woman.
Paul ,   UK   (06.17.09)
Lets see how they treat her according to Islam.
4. What is wrong...
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem of course!   (06.17.09)
....with them that instead of assisting her they left her to become a prostitute and are now punishing her for deciding to become an informer. ....what is wrong with us that instead of assisting her we left her to become a prisoner in the Palestinian Authority is this how we repay people who help us?
5. Everything they hold sacred
Shira   (06.17.09)
Give me a break! Certainly not human life, and certainly not the lives and well-being of women. Ms. Ashrawi, where were you when this woman's husband forced her into prostitution? Where were you when she became an outcast in your society through no fault of her own? What did you do to prevent her from falling into the vulnerability that caused her to commit this crime (as you see it)?
6. these are the same "Human Rights Activists" who :
rebecca ,   Modiin   (06.17.09)
condem Israel for holding their murderers in prisons, where they are well fed and educated. the same "human rights activists" who say nothing when a Palistinian child is beaten to death for waving at an Isralie soldier. It appears that Human Rights has a different meaning to them than to us. But then we see that when Arabs want to swap 1000 of well fed and educated arab prisoners for 1 Isralie Soldier.
7. no humans so no rights.

8. Savages
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (06.17.09)
"The crime, in the popular imagination, is the most unconscionable crime. It is a betrayal of everything that people hold sacred." Really? So prostituting one's wife is not a betrayal of a sacred trust? Do you think her husband, who forced her into a life of prostitution, will receive the same type of Draconian justice? He won't. He should -- but he won't. He was the genesis of the whole sordid affair, but he will not be held into accoung. That is not what Moslems do. A sentence of life in prison at hard labor, for a 22 year old woman with limited options who wished not to whored by her husband (I use the term "husband" advisedly). No family to visit her in prison. Nothing but a bleak and dismal non-future living in complete isolation. These people are savages.
9. Contrast to how we treat Yossi Beilin
Ilan ,   Ariel   (06.17.09)
I guess we treat our prostitutes and collaborators quite a bit differently.
10. Israel did the same thing to Mordechai Vanunu!
Moise   (06.17.09)
