1. Palestinians are not the topic
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (06.17.09)
The topic will be the situation in Iran which is rapidly spiraling out of control, and the inevitable repercussions upon Syria, Hizbullah, Hamas and all the other client states and terrorist organizations that depend upon Iran to sustain and maintain them. And the concurrent threat to Iraq, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. No, the Palestinians have been relegated to yesterday's news. Look for news pieces on "settlements" to appear just after advertisements offering psychic advice and just before ads promising sexual enhancement. There are enough REAL threats to global security -- Iran, North Korea, to name but two -- that even Obama has consigned Palestinian "issues" to the trash heap of history. Precisely where they belong.

4. The “Mandate for Palestine” is Valid to This Day.
Dave Ronen ,   Haifa   (06.18.09)
The Mandate survived the demise of the League of Nations. Article 80 of the UN Charter implicitly recognizes the “Mandate for Palestine” of the League of Nations. This Mandate granted Jews the irrevocable right to settle anywhere in Palestine, the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea, a right unaltered in international law and valid to this day. Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria (i.e. the West Bank), Gaza and the whole of Jerusalem are legal. The International Court of Justice reaffirmed the meaning and validity of Article 80 in three separate cases...July 11, 1950...June 21, 1971...[and] July 9, 2004... More at : http://xrl.us/bewv9i
5. RE. Sarah the racist Jew
I lika da Swine ,   Los Angeles   (06.18.09)
Hey Sarah, Its me the bacon lover again. Do you honestly think Americans give a crap that Iran will become a nuclear power? If you do your an idiot. Most americans dont give a damn about Israel. I bet most would rather have Israel disapper If it will bring gas down to $1.50 again. So tell your Israeli friends to stop building apartments in the West Bank that will eventually be housing Palestinians anyways. Shalom.
6. If the world really cared about the Israeli/Palestinian
Erastus CoupeDeVille ,   Ong's Hat, NJ USA   (06.18.09)
issue, UN peacekeepers would have displaced IDF troops in the west bank a long time ago. For the situation to remain as it is now is preferrable because it provides employment to NGOs, other UN beauracracies and Israel gets to collect shylock interest on taxes it collects on UN goods that transit through Israel. Such a deal!!!
7. To: No. 5

Are you so deluded that you think that if Israel only "goes away," all the problems in the Middle East will magically disappear and the price of oil will be reduced to $6 a barrel by the grateful Saudi oil-rich princes? Go back on your meds, little piggie. Besides which, Israel is here to stay. Deal with it as best you can.
