The Iranian people might like the idea of revolution & more freedom but thats as far as regional stability and the best interests of the west it would be a disaster. However unlikely lets assume that there was a revolution and the the mullas were overthrown & Iran became pro west. What happens when the arabs living under dictaitors and royalty look up and say if Iran can have a revolution that leads to democracy & freedom then maybe we can to so lets rise up and overthrow our leaders. So they have their revolutions but that doesn't mean its going to lead to the right people taking over the country or stability. We could find ourselves in a situation where the revolution leads to a civil war. That increases the possibility of wars If it happened in a Gulf state like Saudi Arabia it would mean the future of the worlds largest oil fields was in the hands of an unknown regime and would almost certainly lead to a huge increase of oil. Bush had a dream of spreading democracy to the world especially the Middle East, he got rid of the strongman who persecuted his own people but hadn't been a threat to any of his naighbors for about 15 years.
