1. Lebanon joins Iran
Jackie ,   Florida   (06.27.09)
One of the good things about the Internet is it allows free access to information to everyone. Lebanon has now joined Iran in trying to shut it down.

Nadine ,   Beirut, LB & DC   (06.27.09)
Are you blind? Where does it say Lebanon is shutting down the internet? People like you just expand misunderstandings about the Middle East. Why don't you read before you comment. If a Lebanese wants to respond, they will. We're freer than you think.
3. SAME PROTEST MOVEMENT AS IN SHALLIT CASE REQUIRED
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (06.27.09)
THE TENDENCY IS FOR US TO FOCUS ON GILLAD SHALLIT AT THE MOMENT .WE MUST ALSO INTENSIFY OUR EFFORTS ON AN EQUAL BASIS TO FREE OTHERS HELD IN ARAB HANDS .THEY SEEM TO BE THE FORESAKEN ONES.THERE IS ALSO A CASE OF POLLARD "S INCARCERATION TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNT BY THE U.S.A.WHO WE HAVE " AN UNBREAKABLE BOND OF FRIENDSHIP"( IS THIS JUST DIPLOMATIC TALK,OR MY SARCASM ,WHICH STILL LEADS TO NOWHERE ?)AND WHY HIS SERVING EXCESSIVE TIME AFTER SUBMITTING AN ACCEPTABLE PLEA BARGAIN SHOULD HE BE STILL HELD PRISONER .SOMETHING SEEMS WRONG SOMEWHERE EVEN WITH "FRIENDS" !AND OBAMA IS THE NUMBER ONE FRIEND WHO SHOULD BE PRESSED TO COMMENT.WE CANNOT AFFORD TO MISS POINTS IN OUR FAVOUR.

6. To Nadine
Allan Gold ,   London, England   (06.28.09)
Nadine, I am a 32 yr old Jewish guy from London and I have been blogging and talking to people in Lebanon for years now as I want to know both sides of everything and i agree with you completely in your post. Lebanon is not Iran, there are some people / groups who wish they were in Iran, but the Maronites / Druze / Sunni's are changing Lebanon for the better of their country and please g-d one day the whole region. Israel and Lebanon are not natural enemies, in history they never were and the unfortune error of politics and religion has made us that right now. Let us both hope for our future that things will change. I have been to Israel but unfortunetly cannot visit Lebanon, and i so want to see the country, from the castles to Beirut to the coasts. maybe one day...

what about the Palestinian children in Israeli prisons? Is this country civilised? Stop attacking the children
8. Dear Allan,
Youssef ,   Beirut   (06.30.09)
In your enterprise to listen to both sides of the story, you have unfortunately been exposed to the trunacted lebanese narrative. It is presumptuous and unfair to exlude Shiaa from the group of Lebanese who are trying to make their country a better place.Shia'a are no less Lebanese than any other sect. They share all the attributes held by other sects ,whether positive or negative. The fact that majority of the Shia'a support parties that are politically affiliated with Iran does not make them any less patriotic, given the political affiliation with the USA and Saudi Arabia of the other political camp in Lebanon. On the other hand, the animosity against israel does solely characterize the Shia'a .There are other political forces that clearly label israel as an enemy. These forces include religious sunni ,secular leftist and secular natiolalist parties who comprise militants from various Lebanese sects in addition to certain parties from the pro-western March 14 coalition. You might want to include those in your little group of lebanese who don't wan't to make their country a better place.

Allan the next time you visit Israel with your NEW passport just ask the passport control (in Israel) not to stamp your passport so you will be able to visit Lebanon.
