While German made diesel-electric submarines can be extremely quiet they are not the Rolls Royce of submarines. You would have to look at the nuclear powered attack class American and Russian subs for that. What do you think the operating range of a diesel-electric sub? Maybe 3000 miles round trip if they stay on top of the water. Nothing stealthy about that. Where are the Israel oil tenders for long range missions? You'd probably have to rely on the Americans to help you out. If not for them Israel would be helpless. Basically the Israeli navy is feeble by world standards. And the Americans don't trust Israel. As I stated before they are German made diesel-electric powered submarines. For the layman like you, that means that use diesel fuel to generate electricity to charge batteries that in turn power electric motors. On the other hand, world class submarines .... you know like the ones the US, UK, France, Russia, and China have? Well they have nuclear reactors driving their motors. They never refuel. That means they can go as long as the crew and the food last. They can stay underwater for longer than humans can stand to go without sunlight. Huge difference between Israeli subs and a world class submarine.
