Why has shalit not returned home -THE DEFENCE MINISTER IS A COWARD AND AFAFRAID OF HAMAS. nO OTHER EXCUSES !!!!!dIPLOMATIC WANGLES,LIES AND DELAYS ARE A COWRADS TRADEMARK. Israel can get Shalit any time but politics do not want to return the soldier.
2. Terrorist prisoners.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.13.09)
In the war against terror, Human rights, a Judeo-Christian value, should be considered differently. Israel would do well to cancel the visits of Palestinian prisoners’ families, no longer allow detainees to complete their studies, and worsen their upgraded imprisonment conditions. Pressure on the part of Palestinian prisoners’ families would greatly assist in presenting Hamas as failing to do enough to free its prisoners. This could prompt the group to soften its positions on kidnapped Israeli soldiers. Israel should adapt to the new war as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi3q3
3. "ABBAS, SPEAK UP" !
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (07.13.09)
HE CLAIMS TO BE PRESIDENT OF A HAMAS/FATEH COUNTRY.IF SO,HE IS CURIOUSLY SILENT ON THE GILAD SHALIT ISSUE.SO MUCH SO THAT HIS SYMPATHETIC DISPLAY OF SOLIDARITY ON THISMORAL ISSUE IS LACKING.WHY DOESN"T HE MEET THE SHALLIT FAMILY DISPLAY FATEH"S DISAPROVAL AS POLICY? HIS DISAVOWAL TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT,SHOWS THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH A MAN THAT IS NO BETTER THAN ANY HAMAS LEADER.IF HE WANTS TO MAKE HEADWAY ON MIDDLE EASTERN ISSUES,HE SHOULD FIRST START TO DISILLUSION US BY DOING SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY ON THE GILAD ISSUE. BUT I BET HE WON"T !
4. Gilad Shalit
Tip ,   Dubai   (07.13.09)
Maybe if you give up less than 1% of the 11,000 prisoners you have in your Israeli jails , you might see Gilad. or else he will end up like another Ron Arad...
5. Gilad is still captive because since Entebbe Israel ha ONLY
sergio HaDaR tezza   (07.13.09)
LIBERATED ARAB TERRORISTS, causin the death, injurying and maiming of thousands of Jews.
6. Insanity
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (07.13.09)
My favorite definition of insanity is continuing to repeatedly engage in the same activity when the results never differ. We have danced this dance with Hamas several times previously. We released a lot of very dreadful terrorists. Did Shalit come home? No. Hamas got to have its cake and eat it, too. No more deals. Hamas does not negotiate in good faith (which makes perfect sense; they are, after all, terrorist scum who wouldn't know or understand decency if it got up and kicked them). I am truly sorry for the Shalit family, but not so sorry that I would trade several hundred monsters with blood on their hands for a corpse.

No negotiations until this is ascertained. Anything else is madness and political suicide for any government that agrees to this swap.
8. 6 Sarah, NYC: It is difficult to see the value of a corpse
Rivkah   (07.14.09)
until one considers that the body is the temple of the Lord for each person and it will be resurrected to eternal life or eternal death. The value of the corpse of Moses was unimaginable because it could have been used by the devil to get the people to worship an idol (the body of Moses instead of the Lord). So the Lord Himself buried the body of Moses which is still valuable. Gilad Shalit is a descendant of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in all likelihood unless his ancestors were Khazar converts and not actual physical descendants of the Patriarchs. But he may well be a spiritual and physical descendant and heir of Abraham the Patriarch which makes his corpse valuable to the Lord and to his family.
9. Link "Two-State" solution to Gilad's release
Barry Berger ,   Qiryat Tivon ISRAEL   (07.14.09)
Benjamin Netanyahu should have, and still could, link all discussions of a "two state" solution and all implementation of the settlement freeze on the release of Gilad Shalit.... rather than to the conditions he raised in his Bar Ilan speech. The world would then see that we are willing to make massive concessions in return for one individual. Should the Hamas refuse, the world (and us) would see what their real priorities and conflicts are. This is a "win-win" situation.

Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (07.14.09)
Is it SO valuable a corpse that you are willing to risk creating hundreds or even thousands more corpses (also the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) by freeing several hundred known murderers? Your comment lacks common sense and proportion. What you are suggesting is that we obtain one corpse while giving up potentially hundreds or thousands in return.
