31. #18 - Terry - Leftists can't laugh until utopia is created
William ,   Israel   (07.12.09)
In other words, Leftists won't ever laugh. The utopian dream is the only thing that keeps their ideology going.... though they might be slightly happier when they get the Global Umma.
32. #21 - Moise - Wow, another laugh-less Leftist
William ,   Israel   (07.12.09)
(try saying that 3 times fast). You see, Moise - it's anti-semetism when you decry ALL Jews as bad because of Israeli actions, or try to revise their history, or target them for war crimes when ignoring a party who commits worse crimes. Anti-semetism is a lot like racism - when you single one group out. Laughing at ridiculous Pal statements - their blatant twisting of the truth (like no Jewish temple existed in Jerusalem, or all 1400 dead in Gaza were civilians, or Jesus was Palestinian) - is perfectly normal. Neither are the laughs made at expense of a racial group (which Pals are not) nor call for violent action against them. If you can't see the difference, I pity you.
33. #24 - Feel free to read the rest of his post
William ,   Israel   (07.12.09)
Seeing how you stopped at the UN partition part, feel free to read further to where the Arabs lost more land due to a genocidal war on Jews. You see - LOST THE GENOCIDAL WAR is the important part here. It's also repeated over the next 60 years. So, feel free to make yourself comfortable on existing land, but Right of Return....not in the cards, baby.
34. Right of return
Ben ,   Monroe USA   (07.12.09)
It's about time that an Israeli PM had the guts to tell Abass there is no right of return. If they want an independent state, they will have to accept certain conditions as the Israelis have done. The real question is not the "right of return". The real question is whether they want an independent state. They have had the opportunity since 1947 to have one and have always found a way to turn their backs on it while blaming the Jew for preventing it by stealing their land. Abass is a carbon copy of his predecessor Arafat, a liar and a fraud. Arafat was handed a state, but turned it down in favor of Jihad. Typical doubledealing arab leaders.
35. #13 Right of Return
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.12.09)
WE DID NOT leave our homes because the Arab armies told us they would finish off the jews, nor because we wanted to have a picnick in Lebanon. We were expelled on May 4, 1948 following the Irgun's attack on Tarsheeha. Our village was soon warned and accepted the advice to flee for safety. This is not to say that all Palestinians left under these circumstances. Some left on their accord (the rich ones who couldn't bear the instability leading to '48). Some of them fled Haifa and some parts of the Galilee after severe water shortages. Others were simply directly assaulted (Deir Yassin and its effects on Arab exodus from central Palestine). Nomatter how much you try to skew history to favor your narrative, it won't change the fact that Palestinian refugees have an inalienable right to return home regardless of: 1- Who started/finished/won the war. 2- Ethnicity, religion, or politcal rights. 3- How much time they spent in refugee camps. What matters is their ongoing classification as war refugees according to all international conventions. You can't sweep us under the rug. We DO have a right to return, and you WILL negotiate. Abbas will only get a bullet in his skull if he waivers this final status issue.
36. Marco, re: Abbas
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.12.09)
I don't doubt his intentions. He wants to improve the lot of his people, and he believes a pragmatic state would immediately impact Palestinians positively. Not only inside, but also the diaspora. Palestinians are sick and tired of being treated like 2nd class citizens everywhere (even on their own lands, mind you). The only way out is a viable state which would also absorb whoever wishes to return (Myself included). I say this despite being a descendant of 1948 living refugees from Galilee. Abbas has a huge problem though. He's illegitimate. His term expired in early Jan. Even the author of the Palestinian constitution consider him illegitimate (and believes the House speaker should serve as president until elections are held). This is why Abbas should quadruple his efforts to ensure successful elections in Jan. '10. I'm quite confident that the electorate will throw Hamas out. Abbas homework would then be to shift focus towards eradication of corrupt elements within the PA.
37. #36 Nour
Marco ,   Spain   (07.12.09)
What ever the case may be Nour, you should never ever bargain on your rights. I have read in one of your posts that you personally are willing to accept a "token" right of return for humanitarian reasons and you explained that in terms of family reunification. Its funny that when the whole world is beginning to see Israel for what it really is that some one smart and intelligent as yourself begin to soften up. Decades of suffering by your people should not be sold cheap. The tide is changing and the world is moving to support your cause. Iran is a big threat to Israel's existence and its the time to hold firm. God bless you Nour.
38. #37
Jane   (07.12.09)
G-d curses the greedy and uncompromising which is what the Palestinians are. Much in the same way that He has cursed Spain - no more empire after the murder, forced conversion and expulsion of the Jews. Ah, Marco, still anti-Semitic after 500+ years.
39. Marco...
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.12.09)
Hola Marco k tal? I'm fascinated by your interest in Palestine and ME affairs. Any particular reason? You know the Spanish have been very friendly to us and your contributions are in every field. I hope one day the State of Palestine would interact and engage Spain (Which I deeply respect, having lived in Madrid for 2 years upto Jan. 2009) on a bilateral and exchange basis rather than one-way aid. Basically we need Spain to build our state, your expertise is needed and welcome! As for the Right of Return, I would never sell my rights cheap. Did you read my message #35? The Right in itself is non-negotiable. However the practical details of the solution and its implementation will be the outcome of the negotiations as per Taba, Annapolis, etc. Most Israelis on this forum have been brainwashed into thinking Palestinians only want one thing: the destruction of the state of israel. While this might have been true some decades ago, for perfectly legit. reasons (Nakba, wars, etc) the current trend in thought is that we are meant to co-exist and cooperate. There is no other solution. The one-state approach is problematic and in my opinion would lead to more bloodshed - at least in the short term. My 2-cents...

Nour ,   Palestine   (07.13.09)
I just find it pitiful how you choose to live in the past. Of course, anything to portray yourselves as victims. As if the Jews were the only ones expelled from Spain? Try the Moriscos (Arabs) who held Spain territorially, politically, and econmically for 8 centuries. Do you still see us crying in the streets? Apparently you haven't been in Spain lately. It is a marvelous country, totally transformed and it is much more than Sun and beach. It is the envy of every European. Financial crisis aside, they've built Europe's best infrastructure. Today Spanish companies are innovating in every field and the Spanish is a far more superior one to the blood-tainted Israeli one. This is something which perhaps makes you enraged with jealousy. Put the past behind you Jane, we live in the 21st century and Spaniards of today cannot be held accountable over the actions of the Spanish crown centuries ago.
41. To: Nour at No. 40
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (07.13.09)
Palestinians are your classic example of who has been living in the past. You folks lost six wars, you are losing the battle on terror, and you aren't taking a single solitary dunam of Israeli soil (and yes, I do mean Judea and Samaria, the Golan, and, G-d willing, Gaza). So shut up and move on with your pathetic lives in any one of the 23 Arab states -- you are really not wanted in the Jewish State. Quit living in the past; quit trying to put toothpaste back into the tube. When will you people figure out that some mistakes are forever? What a pathetic bunch of creeps you are!
42. Sarah the Emotive throwing insults again?
Nour ,   Palestine   (07.13.09)
I see you skipped your meds... Get with the program darling, we're here to stay, while you'll remain in Noo York forever (where you belong).

44. #43 i wonder...
wael ,   ramallah   (07.13.09)
what would you be copy/pasting when the US suspends all direct and indirect aid to israel, the world's champion of state terror. despite all the "accomplishments" u listed, u have no friends in the world and guess what, everyone hates you. you know why, so cut the bull and u know the drill. imagine the impact on your reputation when you start to actually treat your neighbors like humans with their own aspirations rather than cage them like animals.
45. To: No. 42
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (07.13.09)
Do you mean my anti-nauseant medication when I read your ridiculous posts? You're not in Israel to stay. Six wars, darling, count for something, and you lost them all. You also rejected numerous opportunities for a two-state solution. Sorry. Your future -- which is dubious to begin with -- is elsewhere. Get used to the idea. And while you're getting used to it, contemplate this: Palestinians have been the architects of their own misery. "Palestinians" didn't exist until 1967 -- you are a figment of your own imagination. You've sown the wind for better than sixty years. Don't expect any sympathy from anyone when you have to reap the whirlwind; it's the logical consequence of your own actions. And inactions. Why would you even want to live in a country where you are despised and reviled? Have you NO pride?
46. To: No. 44
Sarah ,   New York City, USA   (07.13.09)
The Palestine Authority has been the largest recipient of direct financial aid from the United States and the European Union for the last six years. Check with your leadership. Ask them about their luxurious homes in Europe and their hefty foreign bank accounts. American aid to Israel takes the form of military credits (which must be spent in the United States) and joint venture capital which benefits the medical industry and the computer component and software industries, to name but a tiny few. We have treated you like human beings. The Jordanians let you live like animals. We gave you indoor plumbing; we gave you sewage systems; we taught you irrigation and we built schools and hospitals and universities for you. Don't flatter yourselves. We DID treat you like human beings. You responded by acting like animals. You are entitled to all the dignity which you inspire.
