35. The " Burden game"
Nora Tel Aviv ,   Tel Aviv   (07.14.09)
Peace Now says that settlements are a burden. What else is a burden in Israel ? What about Peace Now being a burden ? By the way, where Peace Now`s money come from ?
36. The Arab Israeli dispute has not resulted from the ...
Amihai ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.14.09)
... "settlements" and will not end with them. This conflict began long before Israel came into being, long before the Six-Day War, and long before Jews began to returned to Judea and Samaria that had been "cleansed" by the Arabs of the Jewish residents prior to the Six-Day War. The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) was set up in 1964, three full years before the Six-Day War. Which part of Palestine was it to "liberate"? Indeed, Judea, Samaria, the Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem were under total Arab rule until 1967. Why didn't they establish an independent state then with Jerusalem as their capital city? The core of the conflict is simple and has nothing to do with "settlements"; it is rather the refusal of the Muslim-Arab world to accept the right of Israel (a non-Muslim and a non-Arab independent political entity) to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people. Try and ask them to recognize Israel's right to be and you'll get your answer and an explanation for the many wars initiated by them aimed to wipe it off the face of earth, and with it the vast majority of Israeli Jews as well as the any trace of Jewish civilization of which Israel is its cradle.
37. Kudos to the dedicated Peace Now staff !!!

38. Settlements a Burden
Nili ,   Jerusalem   (07.14.09)
I don't live in a settlement, but I will defend the right of any Jew to live anywhere in Israel! And if I means I pay higher taxes, well I will find a way to do it. I'll take a loan to pay anyone to deport these jackasses. I am sick of their antisemitic rhetoric. They are the ones causing problems, endangering the lives our soldiers and citizens. The burden, the cost, the humiliation, the chillul hashem is from this group of garbage. Send them to Gaza on a one-way ticket.
39. How about changing the name into Shalit Akshav?
Matityahu ,   Slovenia   (07.14.09)

42. wrong!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (07.14.09)
peace now is absolutely wrong - 100% of the people living between the jordan river and the mediterranean are "palestinian"! "palestine" has been the name of the homeland of the jews since roman times. and it is wrong to refer to the "arab refugees from palestine", as they were properly called in 1948, as "palestinians", as if the jews in israel had ceased to be "palestinian" in 1948. the arabs didn't even use the term (for themselves) until 1964. proper terminology would be to refer to jews and arabs, as ethnic groups, or to jews and non-jews on a religious basis. but if peace now were to be actually putting forward an intellectual case, rather than an ideological one, they would start by acknowledging that every israeli withdrawal or concession to arab demands has only brought more demands, and never peace. the withdrawal from gaza is only the latest example of their thinking - hamas has strengthened and its attacks now reach more of israel. more, and not fewer, soldiers have died in fighting against gaza, and the government is spending billions to build a "qassam shield" for the negev. is this peace now's "solution" in action? their ideology is no more sound than their terminology. to pretend that they are now concerned with israel's future and security rings hollow, to say the least.
43. Give Up Now!
Yonatan ,   Yerushalayim   (07.14.09)
What we really need is a population that believes that Hashem gave us Eretz Yisrael, and that we don't live here by the good graces of their masters in the UN, EU, and the US. Then we'll elect a govt that believes it and instead of being the world's cowards and football, they'll have the guts of their convictions and encourage 2 million more Jews to move to Yesha! When that happens there won't be any need for "peace talks". We just need more Religious Jews in Yesha who statistically have high birthrates and the Arabs will be begging us instead of making demands.
44. The real burden is peace now
Lioness ,   Israel   (07.14.09)
They have given up on their religion and heritage. Obviously they have not learnt from the Gaza Disengagement Failure after leaving that area thousands of missiles were fired at us from the now occupied terrorist entity
45. Death sentence to sellers of land to Jews. Yes, by law,
Amihai ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.14.09)
a person in the Palestinian Authority found guilty selling land to Jews may not live much longer. The PA has never to the best of my knowledge put a person to death for this crime, but thugs operating with full knowledge of the PA have murdered many people who violated this "non-racist" law. Has Peace Now ever addressed itself to this phenomenon? Indeed, has Peace Now ever addressed itself to the fact that Jordan, a country with a peace agreement with Israel, by law does not permit Jews to acquire real estate property in the kingdom only because they are Jews? It is time we all open our eyes and face reality for what it is and not what we wish it to be.

51. Has Israel forsaken the Roadmap?
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, USA   (07.15.09)
If Israel has abandoned the Roadmap and it pomises to other countries then what do you do with the Palestians? If you push them all to Gaza or in to Jordin then you are only put off the problem afew years. In afew years the US will start rearming Iraq(alot of profits in arm sells) to help balance against Iran. It 10 to 15 years they could catch up or pass Israel in militiary power. In that time Iraq and Iran could be alot closer and would become a major problem for Israel. While the muslins in the US are smaller in number than Jews they will be close to equal in about 5 to 7 years. Many arab countries are learning from Israel and are starting to follow in their path. While the settlements are very important to the Jews, just remember there could be a price to pay latter. Please look at all options before turning your back on the Roadmap.
