1. BOOH HOO WHAH!!!!
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (07.20.09)
Another sob story from Pallienet formerly known as whYne net. Showing of their false Humanistic side. How touchy feeling are our bleeding heart ruthless liberals. If it is not a swipe against the IDF , it will be against the Haredi or the "settlers". One thing one can say about our elitist Ynet crowd is that they are equal oppertunity haters. Our peace loving liberals constantly show of their anger at anything that does to coform to their superior moral level. These are the bringers of our new utopian world, showing us how tolerant they really are.
2. #1 David in occupied Palestine
Avi ,   Israel   (07.20.09)
get a life !
3. to #2 avi no you get a life, cause your house
ghostq   (07.20.09)
is already full of muslems that want you out. no matter were you live In Israel they want all the land including your house.
4. You people don't know the full story
Steve   (07.20.09)
People don't realize that it is indeed possible for a 15 year old to pose a security risk. In Judea and Samaria there are children aged 15 and even younger who throw stones at soldiers. Hamas has used children before in terrorist attacks - the use of child soldiers by Arab terrorists is an unfortunate reality. I'm not accusing this kid of being a terrorist, all I'm saying is that people need to at least consider that the IDF knows something that the rest of us do not. Perhaps he is connected to somebody dangerous, you never know. The IDF wouldn't have said no just for the sake of it. In the entire scheme of things, a kid not going to the beach is not the end of the world.
5. THis is news??
3jay3 ,   Israel   (07.20.09)
Come on YNet! Why print such insignificant propaganda rubbish?
6. This is a 15-year-old boy, what could he possibly do?"
Shalom   (07.20.09)
You want a list?
7. # 1
Dee ,   haifa   (07.20.09)
i think israel and israelis would have a much better life without you and the libermans and kahanas , the IDF should get rid of you and your likes , so WE the people who want to live in peace , can have our wish and truly live in peace , as long as you are in the way we will never accomplish anything , so please pack your dirt bags and get the hell out of this country and go back to were ever you came from ...
8. Take israelis kids to fun day
Sam ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (07.20.09)
There are not enough poor kids in Israel that would need attention and some fun days ? The truth is that the goal of this "fun day" is not "humanitarian", but only a matter of politics. Leftist are so desperate that they simply don't know what to do to try to make peaople speak about them.
9. "This is a 15-year-old boy, what could he possibly do?"
Love of the Land ,   Israel   (07.20.09)
On September 23, 2004, a day before Yom Kippur, the Shin Bet and the Israel Police announced their capture of a 15-year-old suicide bomber and a 7 kg explosive belt in the village of Dir-Hana in the Western Galilee. The 15-year-old was part of joint terrorist cell of Tanzim and Palestinian Islamic Jihad from Yamon village near Jenin. ...... http://calevbenyefuneh.blogspot.com/2009/07/idf-prevents-palestinian-youth-from.html#links

11. 50 minus 1
Yonatan ,   Yerushalayim   (07.20.09)
49 other boys were approved but Edelson doesn't see that as significant. As Steve (#4) pointed out, Crynet doesn't have the details. Why did the CA cite "security reasons" for this 1 and NOT the other 49? The CA does not have to give us their reasons so all we can do is just speculate. I've seen the photos and read the stories, even in the ridiculous liberal Israeli media, of even younger children attacking Jews, some carrying weapons. Even in the US, idolized and idealized by Israelis, security organizations keep close watch on the extended families of dangerous persons and sometimes restrict their travel. None of the bleeding heart activists made any mention of his family, something they always mention when there are no "problem relatives". That in itself should make readers suspicious. While he didn't choose his family, if there are security problems among them then there are consequences for the rest of the family, including him.
12. to #8 true sam. you r right.
ghostq   (07.20.09)
13. Israel
Fernando   (07.20.09)
Why they don't send this boy to Gaza beach? I can't understand, everybody hates israel but everybody wants to came to israel hospitals, beachs, etc, etc...
14. to all previous posts
Yael ,   TA   (07.20.09)
I understand that a 15 year old boy can do a lot of bad things but this is not the issue here. we were all kids once, and how do you feel if you were banned from going on a field trip and it is not your fault? how do you feel if it was your son? The IDF must publish a valid reason for such a decision, dont just assume that they have a good reason. you should demand to see it.
15. Dee @ 7; Here is an idea. You do not tell people
leo ,   USA   (07.20.09)
what to do and people will not tell you where you should go. Is it a deal?
16. Machsom watch has lost the good will of moderate people
Rod ,   Fargo N.Dakota   (07.20.09)
All these group with NGO monies from Foreign countries cannot be trusted. They and their paymasters seek one thing the destruction of Israel.
17. #14 Yael,
Margo   (07.20.09)
I agree with you- unless there was a really sound reason- and this should be made clear- this boy deserved to have his day on the beach with the other kids. The IDF could always search the kids and their chaperons before the trip- they do so much of it anyway- this way they could be sure the boy was not smuggling 50kg of explosives... as for Israeli kids going to the beach- I am sure, Fernando, if they want to go they have no problems... this sounds really petty...
18. Kid
zznhl   (07.20.09)
Obviousely he cannot go to the seaside...who'd supply the soldiers at the roadblock with coke and fanta?
19. A 15 year old "working" at a Machsom is a serurity risk.
rebecca ,   modiin   (07.20.09)
15 year olds should not be "working". In this situation, where Arabs are not frightened of putting their children in the front line, a child "working" at a security check point is already questionable. That security turned down 1 and not the whole thing, shows they are checking each child and giving as many kids as possible a chance. But I sure Sasson Gabai has better security sources than the IDF...
20. He works for his living; he must be evil
observer   (07.20.09)
'The 15-year-old Najjar, from the village of Burin, who works as a bottled-water and candy vendor at the Hawara checkpoint.' Maybe the soldiers consider his services essential to the occupation.
21. #1: where did our morality go?
Zion22 ,   USA   (07.20.09)
Reading the first talkback made me sick. Are these the Jewish values that we worked so hard to incorporate into our state? He's a 15 year old who lives a short distance from the sea and yet has never been able to swim in it. Do I need to be a leftist to empathize with them? People like you are proof that the occupation is destroying the Jewish soul, and that we MUST get out of Judea and Samaria so that we can work on repairing the neshama of the state of Israel.
22. Talk about naive...
Joan ,   Haifa   (07.20.09)
Machsom Watch really has lost all credibility. Did it never occur to them that maybe, just maybe, the IDF might know something that they don't? As for "What could he possibly do?" I can't even believe that person was naive enough to ask that question.
23. I forgot to add...
Joan ,   Haifa   (07.20.09)
Oh yes, Ynet, have you decided to go with shoddy journalism? What a snotty, unprofessional headline!
24. Ynet should get its act together real soon.
Ypip ,   Canada   (07.20.09)
You think this summer is going to be hotter than last. Wait till next year, and the year after that. and take their heads out of the of the sandbox with how and what they categorize acticles as 'news', and start to focus on the real issues confronting Israel. From Ypip: your friendly weather channel.
25. is he going to lay mines to destroy Israeli ships?
zionist forever   (07.20.09)
I am sick to death of all these pathetic events like football matches for Israeli and palestinian children etc but in this case I think that it really is pathetic what the army is saying here. Taking a 15 year old boy for a swim then home the same day come on how the hell can this be considered a security risk? Search him for weapons in advance, supervise him whilst he is at the beach & make sure he goes home then is that going to hurt anybody. I have no love for palestinians adult or child but this is just crazy.
26. Israeli Racists & Bigots
Shlomo ,   Tel Aviv   (07.21.09)
The true face of Israeli racists and bigots is here for all to see. You bring shame to Israel.
27. MACHSOM...YOU DIDN'T TAKE ME TO THE BEACH...
" TOO JEWISH " ! ,   CANADA   (07.21.09)
WHEN I WAS A KID, I ALWAYS WANTED TO GO TO THE BEACH, BUY WE HAD NO CAR TO TRAVEL THE 4 HOUR TRIP. SO, I STAYED AT HOME AND WAS DISAPPOINTED BUT THAT WAS IT. POLITICS CAN GET IN THE WAY AND THE FACT THAT THESE KIDS GOT A BIG HEADLINE ON YNET AND A BIG STORY....... WOW !. THERE WERE NO BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS IN THE NEWSPAPER WHY I DIDN'T GO TO THE BEACH. WHY DID THIS MACHSOM GROUP NOT INVITE ME TO THE BEACH ? I GUESS THAT I AM TOO JEWISH FOR THEM !
28. #44.YPIP IS RIGHT.. LOVE YNET BUT THERE ARE OTHER STORIES..
ABARHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (07.21.09)
YNET EDITORS AND THE BRASS AT YNET SHOULD REALLY BEGIN TO LOOK AT THEIR CREDIBLITY AND THEIR NEWS CONTENT AND WHERE IS IT GOING. I SAY THIS WITH NO MALICE INTENDED. I LOVE YNET AND LOVE TO READ YNET AND THERE ARE MANY INFORMATIVE AND INTERESTING NEWS STORIES. THE COMMENT I WOULD MAKE IS THAT WHEN PEOPLE, READERS OF YNET START TO SEE TRIVIAL STORIES, MAKING A TEMPEST OF A TEA POT, PEOPLE SHAKE THEIR HEADS AND WONDER. IF THIS IS YNET'S IDEA OF IMPORTANT NEWS, THEN WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER YNET NEWS ? PEOPLE WILL BEGIN TO TEST THE CREDIBILITY OF THE CONTENT OF YNET NEWS AND THAT IS REALLY NOT GOOD FOR EVERYONE CONCERNED, NOT FOR YNET AND NOT FOR THE READERS AND TALKBACKS JUST AS I AM ONE OF THEM. MOST OF YNET READERS WANT YNET TO CONTINUE TO UPGRADE THE NEWS TO LEVELS THAT WE YNET READERS KNOW THEY CAN DO AND HAVE AMPLY DEMONSTRATED THEIR PROWESS FOR YEARS.....A GLITCH ONCE IN A WHILE IS HUMAN. WE SEE IT AT YNET MOST OF THE TIME, SOME OF THE MOST INTERESTING AND CHALLENGING NEWS EVENTS HANDLED WITH YNET PROFESSIONALISM. YNET WILL NOT DISAPPOINT US, AND I HAVE THE UTMOST RESPECT AND CONFIDENCE IN THIS. WITH ALL DUE RESPECT, THANK YOU YNET FOR THE GOOD NEWS AND PLEASE CONTINUE TO EXCELL AT WHAT YNET DOES BEST....THE NEWS.
