1. UN is a hateful Anti Semite organization
Hate the UN   (07.20.09)
Which pretty much reflects the will of its members to blame all the world troubles on the West and the Jews. The General Assembly is a forum where libels are spread about the state of Israel, while real crimes and massacres are ignored. I sincerely hope that the Hezbolla fighters find a reason to attack the worthless UNIFIL cowards. I want to see them pay the price for their unwillingness to do their job. They're not at a Mediterranean resort.
2. Get your head out of the clouds, Israel.
Hook ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.21.09)
Does Israel really expect the duplicitous scum at the UN to really make a stand on principle? Wake up! Israel can rely only upon the IDF & IAF. I hope that Israel kills the mamzers the next time they set their filthy feet on her sovereign soil.
3. So Much For The UN And All Its Members!
Heather Czerniak ,   Milwaukee, USA   (07.21.09)
Israel, you are no longer bound by any UN mandates. Do what you will.
4. Yes!
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (07.21.09)
B"H Yes, good idea! I have no doubt in my mind that Mr. Ban Ki-moon and Mr. Ruhakana Rugunda of Uganda are the ones who will save the Holy Jewish people on their Holy Jewish Land. It's a mitzvah for them.
5. UN
mohson   (07.21.09)
so much for Tzipi running to the UN for help on hezbollah or hamas. The UN for israel has been very bad.So they were intimidated by hezbollah, what else is new. Spain, france, norway are among the most gutless members of the UN so its not surprising that they helped hezbollah. I really don't see a deal with the arab for years. They do not have one oz of country or citizenship. They are a gang of islamic mafiosa.
6. "15 unarmed Lebanese civilians into ISRAEL"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Harry   (07.21.09)
7. "Waah Waah Waah...Everyone is out to get us"
Joseph Blough ,   NY, USA   (07.21.09)
I find it rather comical that Israel would dare to even cite article 8 of UN 1701 given that Israel warplanes violate the blue line on nearly a daily basis. Israel should give the world a demonstration on how the UN should control the situation in Southern Lebanon by dismantling all illegal West Bank Outposts and putting an end to settler attacks against Palestinians as they are obligated, yet have continually failed to do.
8. Why should Israelis trust the UN...? No reason to do so...!
An American Jew ,   Maryland, U.S.A.   (07.21.09)
9. Progress Report
Jacob Erickson ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.21.09)
I would be very interested in seeing a progress report as to what the UNFIL have actually done since getting to Lebanon. This is all just further proof that the UN has no power at all, even when they're sitting in a tank armed with a gun. Why don't we just put mines along the border with Lebanon? If they want to try to run into our territory again they can just get their legs blown off. And then we can be kind and generous and give back all their bodies and limbs for no exchange at all.

by G-d not by frail man.
11. What else, but this obnoxious building, the UN
pierre   (07.21.09)
Ambassador Shalev, Your time is waisted concerning the many complaints you are lodging with this less than " Auguste " dwelling in Manhattan. Aside from squandering billion$$ in taxes (they call it dues) from 200 countries, their achievements from 1 to 10 is double zero. As far as Ban ki Moon is concerned, when he wakes up, he might be able to respond,...maybe. Have you tried French with him ?
12. Can the UNO be trusted ?
Ron B. ,   Lod   (07.21.09)
It is the duty of every State, not only Israel, to defend its citizens – Its absolute duty. Only Israel has the right to decide what is best for the protection of its citizens. Three years after the Libanese war ended has Security Council Resolution 1701 fully been implemented? and can Israel trust UNIFIL ? Condemning Israel is easy but doesn’t bring solutions. Only a clear, fair and objective approach of the painful Israelo-Arab problem will have a chance to solve it as explained at : http://xrl.us/bi5c8
13. I smell gun powder in the air.
ghostq   (07.21.09)
Lebanon better shape up or get hurt, and once again it's the arab world who makes the first move ftowards war, they love wars, only this time they will drag syria, Iran and the entire region to war. it will be HIZ FAUT the kings of murders.
14. joseph your south mexicans r no so friendly
ghostq   (07.21.09)
if you get my point. wonder how you treat mexican filiters, oh... but surly you violated native american rights.
15. #7 stfu joseph, you've angered me
gmail ,   israel,holon   (07.21.09)
you have no idea what goes on over here , you are so quick to defend the majority, we are a small tiny country surrounded by the arab world. if you knew anything about our situation you wouldn't be saying what you say about us. do you have any idea what would happen to us if we G-d forbit were to dismantle westbank outposts (legal) . we would be like lambs to the alter. why don't you do us all a favour and go and learn about what you clearly don't know.
16. #7
normal ,   Beersheva, Israel   (07.21.09)
in regards to the first part of your comment, Israeli warplanes violate the blue line on nearly a daily basis because of these violations, the last two events justify the violation. on the issue of ammunition and weapons held in southern lebanon (a paragraph in the 1701 resolution states that hisbulla isn't allowed to hold weapons in any location which lays south to the litani river) israeli intelligence is one of the best in the world, if they say that hisbolla isn't following the agreement it accepted (can you really trust someone that accepts a agreement but doesn't follow it up?, come one, you won't even agree to talk to him...) then there is a 95% probability they are right. although there are some things that I don't agree on them in regards of the way currently (and in the last years) the government here is handing, remember, you are judging the situation from the comfort of you couch and looking only on one part of the situation, not all of it, that way of behaving is a bit hypocrite.
17. relativity theory
observer   (07.21.09)
if you were to sit on the brink of ME cliff and see how conflict-time relationship interchanges, you would find that Israel wars with the UN more than Israel wars with Lebanon.
18. #7 Why do you lie?
Cynthia ,   USA   (07.21.09)
Israeli warplanes do not violate the blue line on a daily basis. If you insist this is true, cite your sources. Hizbollah is desperate for money and must appease their Iranian masters by provoking an incident.
19. #7 but i thought two wrongs don't make a right...
Danny   (07.21.09)
See with you, we have the perfect example of the anti-Israeli logic. Israel has only responsibilities, no rights and their enemies have only rights. Any supposed "violation" by Israel is a cause for global outrage whereas any actual violation by Israel's enemies needs "explanation" and under no circumstances should it be punished.
20. Cynthia Zip it
Tip ,   Dubai   (07.21.09)
How can you be so lame as to ask # 7 to cite his sources....grow up. This is reality. I live in Lebanon & i know. I don't care if you believe me, neither does # 7. For the rest of the Israeli's, if u dont like the UN, neither do we, they don't do their job in keeping you away from our land.
21. gmai of israel - How do illegal outposts provide security?
Joseph Blough ,   NY, USA   (07.21.09)
How exactly does transferring parts of Israel's civilian population onto land Israel holds under belligerent occupation in violation of the IV Geneva Convention provide security for Israel? It seems to me and a whole lot of sane people around the world that the illegal outposts are nothing but an attempt to steal land and attempt to create facts on the ground, but perhaps you have some insight on how civilians transferred onto occupied land do other than invite more justifiable resistance.
22. How can anyone trust the UN? I don't!
Rina   (07.21.09)
23. # 18 Cynthia - My source is the United Nations
Joseph Blough ,   NY, USA   (07.21.09)
In fact, the IAF often violates Lebanon's sovereignty and article 8 of 1701 more than once per day. The UN has condemned Israel several times and even threatened to fire on Israeli warplanes if Israel refuses to cease its violations of 1701. Just Google 'Israeli violations of 1701' if you have doubts.
24. #19 brilliant

Marco ,   Spain   (07.21.09)
Well, well, well, So now you say: " I sincerely hope that the Hezbolla fighters find a reason to attack the worthless UNIFIL cowards." So you are refering to them as "Heazbollah fighters" instead of "Hezbollah terrorists", at least that is a change in the right direction. If you think that the UN was placed in South Lebanon to disarm Hezbollah and achieve what your 'mighty' IDF failed to do in 2006, then you are sadly mistaken. No one can ever disarm Hezbollah! One and only one thing can disarm Hezbollah: 1)Withdrawal from remaining Lebanese territory. 2)Gaza, West bank and East Jerusalem forming an independent, free Palestinian100% free of settlements. 3) 100% right of return.
26. #21, by not letting people fire rockets from that land
Danny   (07.21.09)
Look at where Israel has demolished settlements and pulled out - Gaza and South Lebanon. Where are the only places firing rockets and attacking the border on a regular basis - South Lebanon and Gaza. A perfect one to one correlation.
27. #20, Dubai in Lebanon then?
Danny   (07.21.09)
Is that greater Lebanon?
28. #25, actually that is exactly what UNIFIL's mandate is
Danny   (07.21.09)
under 1701. If you are stating that these scum never had any intention of implementing it and our previous government was delusional in thinking they would then i will agree with you. Hizbollah will never disarm because: no "resistance" = no arms and no money from Iran = no ability to intimidate, buy off and brain wash the local population = no Hizbollah. Hence their desperation after 2000 to fabricate some reason to "keep resisting".
29. to #21 simple reality, when the setelments
ghostq   (07.21.09)
were in gaza there wasn't any rockets, after the withdraw the rockets started. in the west bank there r setelment after the withdraw...? yep you guess it right rockets, they will claim Israel didn't gave them a fair deal as a pretance they will start to shoot, you have to understand Israel knows palis nature, not respect for UN law that was legislated in 47 the same law that say jews to have their own state in the land of Israel, they won't recognise Israel anyway so y bother with them.
30. to #25 you right they got the right to return
ghostq   (07.21.09)
to jordan, cause the places their fathers conquer and never bought doesn't exist anymore.
