1. ElAl mistreats you on all its classes
Tomer ,   Herzeliyya   (07.21.09)
Poor Service Frequent Cancellations Nearly Always Late Rude Atatndants Lost luggage Soon they will start to PAY travellers to fly with them.
2. Pretty soon El Al flights will resemble refugeee flights
Al   (07.21.09)
from Romania, with losse chickens running around the plane, much like Egged in the 60's. No class, no where no how. While you're at it take away the toilets and let them pay for a piss can. Geez what bobos.
3. Good News
Mark leaman ,   Jerusalem   (07.21.09)
I was always told that competition is healthy, that's what my dad use to say z"l and this proves the point. I hope they decide to fly to Manchester England. If the price is right may be I will get the chance to go to my nieces wedding, being on an Israeli wage its just impossible.
4. Fly El Al on a cheap ticket ?
Sagi ,   Israel   (07.21.09)
Do me favor ! Even if they gave me a free ride I would not go. I will even go one better than that. If they offered to pay me to travel with them i would still refuse.
5. Al # 2 Surely that would be
Sagi ,   Israel   (07.21.09)
a ceramic chamber pot in first class.
6. El AL
inyaki ,   bilbao, basque   (07.21.09)
Agree with #1 extremely rude attendants, but this is maybe they were brought up that way? Ma la'asot?
7. Lufthansa and American Airlines is better
Klekota ,   New York USA   (07.21.09)
Lufthansa and American Airlines is better in all categories. Lufthansa is usually the cheapest.
8. Agree with Klekota
Yossi ,   Levittown, PA/US   (07.21.09)
Big wup, El Al! As much as I'd like to support El Al, I paid less than the projected $599 (1 way) on Lufthansa TWO YEARS ago. Let them come up with more hair-brained ideas, and people over here will choose to SWIM to Israel! lol
9. i am an american
(07.21.09)
i constantly fly to israel on business and for pleasure with my wife and two children. i have never been treated poorly by any one. i have eaten the best of food compared to the dry stale other airline foods. i have been serviced promptly and i have never ever had a bad experience...and i am talking about hundreds of flights. you are lying. el al is NEVER LATE. NEVER. as a matter of fact, we always either left on time or a bit early, like 5 mn. or so. the seats are incredibly comfortable in economy class compared to otehr airlines. they are spacious and there is more leg room to stretch. yes, it is hectic because there are lots of religious people making noise or praying, but this goes with the territory. i have sat next to them and they are delightful, to say the least. i have never had my luggage lost. ever. yes, the staff at the airport can be sort of short at time. i guess it is a cultural thing. after all it is the middle east and so it goes. what is rude to us, may not be rude for israelis. you have to understand cultural differences. these people do not know how to hide their feelings like americans do. yes, the stewardesses do not often smile, but they are gracious and attentive. i can say that i have never had a bad flight and i have traveled with them hundreds of times. the plane is immaculate and bathrooms smell fantastic compared to other airlines i've been on. the kids on the israeli tours are also amazing and boisterous. i love it. dave goldman n.y.
10. EL Al price ad ons
Latrina Goldfarb ,   Thornhill, Canada   (07.21.09)
Does this mean I'll have to pay to use the innocent white bag in the pouch in front of my seat?
11. Disagree with #6
Kanadi ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (07.21.09)
Came from Toronto last week with El Al and food, service and flight attendants were very friendly and helpful. They even had spaghetti bolognese Maybe they were just having a bad day which happens.
12. EL al is great
avrom ,   bet shemesh   (07.21.09)

Should be more aptly called BORAT AIRLINES.
16. #7 and #8
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (07.22.09)
I recently flew on Lufthansa and the food was absolutely disgusting. Came back on Swiss which was much better.
17. El Al
Romo ,   London, UK   (07.22.09)
I've flown El Al countless times from the UK and they are by far the best to fly to Tel Aviv. Especially if you compare them to BA who also fly there. The food is better and the attendants very pleasant. I think the people here who complain about them are complaining for the sake of it!
18. El Al = No service
Gary Lesin-Davis ,   Liverpool   (07.22.09)
Travelling to Israel this afternoon from Northern England via Zurich. No El Al flights no daily direct service. Never mind bad service try no service
19. El Al is very competitive and this will
Laurent ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.22.09)
...make them even more competitive. I, flew, in the past year, about 20 times to Europe in economy. El Al was, almost always the cheaper (on the dates I had to travel). The service is much better than on other airlines: drink water is brought to you spontaneously every half an hour (which is very healthy), food is much better. On this one year long experience, i have NEVER had any bad experience, wether more than 15 minutes, delay or long check in queing. Now, if El Al manages to reduce the cost of the tickets by avoiding to offer the service which some passengers anyway do not want, than it can only be excellent. I hope that it will help El Al to improve even more, because they deserve it.
20. To #18
laurent ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.22.09)
Your rebuke to El Al is ridiculous: no airline flies directly from Liverpool to Tel Aviv. Move to a larger town and you will be happy.
21. I fly alot
eliezer ,   jerusalem   (07.22.09)
I fly fairly often. I look for a cheap price. sometimes ElAl is cheapest, sometimes others are cheaper. But I have flow them all. El Al today is undoubtedly the best. They are friendly people, the check in is secure and quick, the fly on time and land on time. It is very comfortable flight they allow me to walk as much as I need, to pray with no problems, they give me as much drinks as I want, free! I have a great feeling being on MY country's carrier, and I have tremendous respect for the total effort of all of their staff. I have flow all the others, they do not compare. I wish them only success and feel bad that I booked my Oct flight to USA with another carrier that is much inferior. Had I known about this I might have waited. The first time I flew with them was in 1968 and they were the undoubted worst, but they have improved and if I have my options I would only fly with them!
22. low cost economy flights
oded ,   haifa,israel   (07.22.09)
It proves that additional cost due to security was not justified in the first place. and charged and deducted from taxes at the same time.
23. Dave Goldman (#9) hit the nail on the head!
Robert Haymond ,   Ashdod, Israel   (07.22.09)
I made Aliyah from Canada where I still spend half the year. Canadians are so polite that if you step on their feet they (the Canadians) will apologize. On the other hand, Israelis are by far the rudest people I have ever met. But, I learned the meaning of why Israelis are called "Sabras" while in hospital in Tel Aviv. While the nurses were generally gruff and in the morning contingents awoke me like I was in boot camp, when complications set in, they were there to nurse me, to do whatever humble act was necessary to allay pain, to keep watch over me although they may have been extremely fatigued themselves and to show genuine kindnesses. I also recall being stopped on a half dozen occasions by strangers (women and even men) while carrying my grandaughter around downtown Ashdod because she wasn't "covered up" sufficiently and might become ill as a result. Of course, the Canadian in me said it wasn't cold, not cold at all. In Canada, no one would have stopped me, if for no other reason than it would not have been "polite". As to El Al, I am now quite eager to try flying on it. I always avoid Air Canada when possible as the service is colourless, the food is bland, luggage gets delayed and the prices are almost always top rate (high) if you catch my drift.
24. El Al
Dennis Greenstein ,   Marlton, NJ USA   (07.23.09)
Come annually (almost ) to israel. Always fly El Al, never ever had an issue, except for the fact that it's crowded. if the service were as lousy as some make it out to be, I presume it wouldnt be so crowded, no?? Food is usually good, stewardesses usually attentive. As for safety, I trust the israeli pilots more than anyone else to get me there safely. what else does one need??
25. All you El Al haters are full of crap....
AJ ,   Washington, DC   (07.23.09)
World class service, on time, famously impressive security and on an on. El Al is a terrific airline - and worth the price (in my experience they are a little higher from the U.S.) You get what you pay for and El Al delivers every time.
26. #9
alison ,   hod hasharon   (07.23.09)
Uta Hamud! We need more people like you here in Israel rather than in the US!
27. #24
alison ,   hod hasharon   (07.23.09)
You're right, Israeli pilots and security are the best in the World! For that alone, it's worth flying EL AL !
28. Fly blue and white - but not an El-AL flight!!
Talula ,   Israel   (07.23.09)
As much as I love my country, and try to support it as much as I can - I simply avoid flying ElAL when I can. It's a terrible airline! Don't care how cheap it's going to get.
29. Comparison
Edoardo ,   Milano & Tel Aviv   (07.24.09)
I had come to israel many times, with El Al, Swiss, Alitalia, Olimpic, Israir and some charters flights. I have to tell the best services are from Swiss and El Al. Swiss don't have any secuirty screening when you have to make a stop in zurich coming from somewhere else. But i have to tell El Al is far the most expensive one. I can't buy a round trip Milano - TA for less then 400 euros+taxes with El Al, while i can spend less the 200 with charters. If i don't care about lounches (the charter fight in the night) i can spare a lot of money. But if you care of security, meals and punctuality you have just 2 choices from italy: El Al and Swiss.
30. EL AL
Avi ,   London   (08.03.09)
To all the Israelis that complain about the food and service on elal flight I have 1 thing to say. As an Israeli i am not suprise the level of comlains and rubbish you say. Israelis known to be ruse people so how can you complain about the service? I used to fly BA in the past only because the flight time is better then elal and the service used to be poor, but in the past 3-4 years I cannot praise them enough and I will never ever fly with any other airline again other then elal (to israel off course), cause they don't fly to other destinations from London. So who ever complain, look at yourself before you complain about others cause as an israeli the service and attitude you get in israel while on holiday is poorer then poor
