The fact that the Americans keep denying it is proof that they are planning to impose sanctions on Israel. It makes sense. The only way for Obama to succeed is if the price of oil stays low for the next three years. The Saudis have told him that they will keep the price of oil low if he destroys Israel. The United states will not be the one to initiate a security council resolution for sanctions on Israel, but if Russia, or France, or some other country does the USA will not veto it. we are in no position to do so. The entire world is watching, and if we were to veto a resolution every one would doubt our sincerity about being fair, and even handed. The president would simply have to say I told so, and that would be the end of it. Don't put us in this position, it's not something anyone wants to see happen, but we have painted ourselves into a corner, and have no choice but to vote in favor.
