The American Libertarian Party supports Israel's right to defend itself. They also support helping Israel to achieve total independence from the US and the world. They also support ending the US's dependency on foreign oil, which will benefit Israel in the long run. OPEC will no longer have enough money to finance terrorist activity against Israel or any other country. Face it, both Democrats and Republicans are despised by American voters and taxpayers. Obama is only making the situation worse by bowing to Arab demands. Israel won't sit tight and wait it out after being stabbed in the back by both the US and the world. Israel does not "push away" the US. Israel is simply telling Obama to stop interfering in our own internal business. Obama has no moral compass to pressure us this way. If we win or lose from building in East Jerusalem, if we agree to any kind of 'peace' with the Palestinians - is OUR business to consider, not Obama's. He can give advices, he can assist if we ask him, he can even voice his disagreement with us - but he can't force us into this. He cannot dictate new terms for the US-Israel relationship, based on Israel's relations with the Palestinians. The best friends are those who respect each other and don't try to boss each other. To the best of my memory, I don't recall Israel ever told the US to stop building in Washington DC. I also don't recall Israel ever telling America to patch things up with Cuba, in order for our friendship to stay strong. Just because the Israel is weaker doesn't mean it has a puppet regime that would bow down to every whim of the American master. US on the other hand will lose the only stable ally in the Middle East, a great source of intelligence exchange, sophisticated weapons contributor, access to best military strategies. US will have to quadruple its troops in the Middle East, since Israel will stop being the guard dog for US in the region saving several countries from foreign conquest, such as Yemen, Jordan and Lebanon. US will be much more exposed to competition in influencing the region, since Israel will create strong alliances with Russia, Brazil, China, India and Japan. In addition to that the US will lose its moral compass for creating new alliances in the Middle East with some of the worst regimes on earth, among them originators of attacks on the US. What was a honey moon in the past based on common values is over, countries do not have friends, they have interests only will be true in this case too from now on.

This "stable US ally" in the Middle East thinks it can do whatever it wants. Good riddance. The problem is we don't quit, the problem is pressure from "special interest" lobbying group that pressure Washington into accepting a policy that EXCLUSIVELY favors Israel. Israel might be a decent source of intelligence, but they actively practice espionage and meddling in US internal politcs. All of your "sophisticated" weapons come from US and European arms manufacturers. The best military strategies? I don't think so. The US won't have to increase troops at all. Israel isn't our"guard dog". Every single thing you say is a bold assertion that reality does not back up. The reality that exists however is pretty much the opposite of what you say. Do some research. Frankly, Israel has much, much more to lose if it severs ties with the US.
