1. When will the Lebanese ever "get it"?
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (07.28.09)
Israel and Lebanon share the same enemy- Hezbollah. Israel knows Lebanon is too weak to fight Hezbollah and Lebanon and Hezbollah know it too. If Lebanon and the Lebanese have any hope of freeing themselves from this instrument of Syria and Iran, they need to cooperate and coordinate with Israel strategically and militarily. Then again, maybe I assume too much when I say that the Lebanese government has a vested interest in the welfare of its citizens. At the very least, its political elite should have a vested interest in seeing the demise of Hezbollah. Am I wrong here?
2. #1 you are not at all wrong
(07.28.09)
however, since when has any sane person attributed intelligence and common sense to most of not all arabs? most are basically devoid of any rationality. the only thing that wakes them up is religious fervor and calls for jihad. to ask any of them to think of what benefits them, is asking way too much of a people with very little intelligence. hameed aboughaze iranian
3. #1 they don't care
(07.28.09)
their sense of life's sanctity is zero compared to yours. hence, arab rationality is an oxymoron. all these people care about is the possibility of killing some jews out of hate and vengeance no matter how many of them die or if their country falls all together. sometime, rational hate clouds one's judgement since jihad for you is pure terrorism but for them its devine intervention and the ultimate gift they can give on this planet. like sheep to the slaughter. have you ever wondered why they support all wars against israel for the past 61 years? they have not learned their lesson. they still hope to murder as many of you as possible even if they all go down to the pit of hell which they live in on a daily basis. hameed aboughaze iranian
4. Yes you are wrong.
Spenglerx ,   USA   (07.29.09)
Isreal proved they Are not impartial arbitraitors for any interests othere than their own. By cooperation do you mean occupying the south of llebanon again? Setting up torture prisons and vilotaing human rights again to anyone slightly opposed to isreali aggression or occupation? You can have peace, but you arent interested in its pursuit. What most isreali's want is to have it their way and on their terms. Continue this path and see how much cooperation hou get out of your Arab neighbors.
5. #1 Joe, Ramat Gan

6. to #5 joe is right in 2006 it was Hizb who
ghostq   (07.29.09)

7. No winds of war? Wrong. The rare tetrad of solar and lunar
Rivkah   (07.29.09)
eclipses that began in 2008 and ends in 2010 are a sign in the heavens of war for Israel. Av 9 is the start of World War III in the ELS Torah codes of Barry Roffman's website. Tyre and Zidon will be destroyed along with Damascus in surface text bible prophecy. Egypt will become uninhabitable for forty years. Iran will be subdued. Iraq will become uninhabitable forever which could be a dirty nuke attack since the half life of the radioactive isotopes in such bombs is 10,000 years. Russia's army will be decimated, as will the armies of Libya, Gomer, Put, Ethiopia (may be Arabian Ethiopia or Saudi Arabia), etc. Those may be several wars leading up to Armageddon and the return of the King of the Jews as the Lion of Judah after 24 elders in a Sanhedrin in heaven (holy Jerusalem that is pyramid shaped) determines he is worthy to be king of kings, unlike the Sanhedrin at the time of Pontius Pilate and Caiaphas the High Priest which determined Yeshua was not the King of the Jews and he was executed by Gentiles, not Jews. The Gentiles love to blame the Jews for their own crimes. When Russians persecuted Jews in Russia under the Tzars, the judgment of that was the death of Christians under the communists. The persecutions of Jews in America is going to lead to a horrific judgment there, too, unless there is national repentence. Yes, the winds of war are in the air. It will come and soon.
8. If General Ashkenazi is not willing to be a Samson in
Rivkah   (07.29.09)
defense of Israel if it comes to that, he should retire and let someone take over who is. If he cannot discern the winds of war are at the door all around Israel, he needs to retire.
9. #4 - Spenglerx, Do you have nothing more...
Joe ,   Ramat Gan   (07.29.09)
... than accusations? Is there any substance to your statements that you care to produce when you say that Israel is not an "impartial arbitrator"? When has Israel ever been given a chance to act as an "impartial arbitrator"? By cooperation, I mean a two-pronged assault on Hezbollah from North and South. Hezbollah functions as the long arm of Iran and Syria, and proved itself to be mightier than the Lebanese Army last year when it was granted veto power to stop their toppling of the Lebanese government. Hezbollah is an immediate threat to Lebanese sovereignty and democracy- only a fool would argue otherwise. "Torture prisons"? Like the ones Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev died in? If you're going to condemn Israel for not upholding the Geneva Convention in situations where the Geneva Convention does not apply, please hold Hezbollah to the same standard of criticism. Is it too much to ask you for intellectual honesty? Speaking of holding others to the same standard you hold Israel to, did you really think before you made the statement: "You can have peace, but you arent interested in its pursuit. What most isreali's want is to have it their way and on their terms."? What about the Arabs? Aren't they following the same path? If you're going to complain about how American aid somehow grants it the legitimacy to pressure Israel into making concessions, why does American aid to the Arabs not grant the US the same legitimacy of pressuring the Arabs to make concessions? Like I said before, is it too much to ask for intellectual honesty?
