a) What the Obama admin fails to grasp is the fact that, even when Arabs lose a war, they win. Just showing up to do battle with Jews or Christians or their own Muslim brothers, regardless of their losses, is viewed as a victory. (see Hezbollah, Hamas etc.) And the more death and destruction their people suffer, the better. Martyrs never lose. b) Talk is weakness. In Arab and Iranian eyes, just asking them to engage in dialog gives them the upper hand. Like a junkyard dog, they have a keen ability to sense fear in all those who wish to get together and talk. The Arabs and Iranians have a tradition of welcoming dialog proposals, only to reject them in order to attain more leverage. What American and European leftists don’t get, though the Arabs and Jews have said it a million times, the only (political) thing the Arabs understand is power, be it within their own borders or beyond. The sooner the International community clues in, the better it will be for the hundreds of millions of innocent Arabs and Iranians living (if you can call it that) in this upside down region.

People often try to examine the Israeli/Palestinian relationship without looking at the connection to the broader Arab world, which ignores the fact that Palestinians are "Palestinian Arabs." The idea that Israel will weaken itself territorially while the Arab states adopt these positions is not realistic. Israel never captured territory from the Palestinians, it was captured from the Arab states that waged war against Israel, including Saudi Arabia. Without an end to the constant demonetization of Israel by the Arab states and a demonstration of good will, nothing will change. Israel will finish building its wall, the Israeli army will stay on the mountain range over the Jordan river and wait for Saudi Arabia to run out of oil, or at least enough that they can't afford a modern military. At that point, they will become a third world country that does not mater as will all the Arab states.

How about Israel pack up and go back where they came from... It's been a disaster since '48! When you steal something..it's always best to return it... TATA

things will be vastly different soon. better to wait and see what happens in the world and wait for the vastly diminished arab presence. saudi arabia and other arab oil countries will be overpopulated, underfunded and starving. by then the demographic changes of the ultra orthodox (by then 5-6 million alone and about to double in another 15 years) will also be far more visible. things will be different.

So until we see a dramatic change in Arab society, one that CAN provide step-by-step measures that prove they believe in our security - there will never be, nor shall there be, peace talks with the Arabs.
