The issue of the Golan is also non negotiable with a sane Israel not ruled by faithless and fear driven grasshoppers. When is Israel going to stop acting like the doormat of her enemies and the world and speak loudly and clearly,' The Golan is Israel and Israel is the Golan'. It's long overdue and it's past time to annex Judea and Samaria. If the Arabs don't want to lose any land than they should stop making war against Israel ,BECAUSE IT WILL COST THEM MORE AND MORE EACH TIME. Stop appeasing them fools of Israel. You would not have become the vassal state of Washington if you had done this long ago.

Alex ,   UK   (08.01.09)
Syria is geographical place where bases of genocidal anti-Israeli terrorists are located. While it continues to be so, Syrian rulers has no legitimacy in Israel's eyes, and balance on the brink of war with Israel. Looks like, quite logical picture. Golan? what Golan? It was annexed after defensive war, end of story. When France gives back Alsace/Lotaringia to Germany, and Russia gives back Kuril to Japan, then maybe.

10. The return of all occupied land....
FO ,   Belgium   (08.01.09)
Indeed President Bashar Assad, you couldn't express yourself in a better way. "The return of all occupied land" means the return of the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria to Israel with the full recognition of the United Nations. To all those who still ignore the following: the United Nations are bound by Article 80 of its Charter to the resolutions voted unanimously by all the 51 members of the League of Nations, the 24th of July 1922, resolutions called the "Mandate for Palestine". This Mandate gave the Jews, on a golden plate, an embryo of a state and the IRREVOVABLE RIGHT to settle anywhere in the area between the Mediterranenan Sea and the Jordan River, including the GOLAN HEIGHTS, a right unaltered in INTERNATIONAL LAW and valid to this day !!! The Golan Heights were illegally given away to the French Mandate of Syria on March 1923. This territorial transfer was made surreptitiously in a capricious and arbitrary fashion by the British (by breaching Article 5 of the Mandate for Palestine), and whose sole interest was to secure Mossul's oil fields to Irak. Israel's decision to impose its Laws on the Golan Heights on December 14, 1981, RIGHTED the WRONG that was committed by the British in March 1923. Syria cannot make a standing claim in an International Court of Law. The "Golan Heights" as they are known today were never part of Syrian Real Estate, but part of the "Palestine Mandate".

No Assad you wont get it back, remember what happened after world war 2, germany was rationed between the allied forces, at the very moment the uk and usa are deciding how to split afghanistan 60/40 to the us should cover it. Do you know of any other democratic country that keeps land after war apart from israel if you want to call it democratic. Alex Alsace/Lotaringia was part of france since 921 and have been fighting germany for it efer since, we dont live under medieval law no more, this is the 21 century, where land grabing after war has been outlawed. The kuril islands never belonged to japan in the first place unlinke the golan , the japaneese killed all the ainu people the orignal inhabitants of the kuril islands, and the san fransicso peace treaty of 1951 decided it didnt belong to japan or the soviet forces. Israel woulld hand it back if it wants peace, but only keep it because they want to steal the water resources which are scarce in the region.

As is the rest of Arab leadership
15. $5, jj, Golan does not belong rightfully to Syria ....
AK   (08.01.09)
...only because British decided to gift it to the French. The only reason Syria came into possession of Golan is because the colonial British in control of Palestine gifted it to colonial French who controlled what became Syria.
16. #5 you are right!
(08.01.09)
Fortunately the Golan is back to its rightful owners. Now the thieves must give us Judea, Samaria, Gaza and Sinai
17. what is non negociable is assad death

May G.d end the life of this pig soon. amen

19. #5 If the Golan is Syrian...
SbT ,   Judea, Israel   (08.01.09)
...why do the Arabs call it by its Jewish name? The Arabs call it Jaulan, which is just a mispronunciation of the name they heard when their thieving, imperialist Muslim forefathers overran and stole the Land of Israel in the 7th century.
20. Assad is correct
Frank ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
the Golan issue is a non-negotiable. When syria finally learns that and gives up that fantasy then they can get down to the business of feeding their own people. This is very much like the US and how they handle internal problems. i.e., their health care system. They can't fix it, so they focus on whatever outside problems they can to take away their own incompetence and inability to lead and do. We are the easyest as everybody hates the jews.....
21. Isaiah 17:1 says Damascus is going to be destroyed. That
Rivkah   (08.02.09)
has not happened, so it is in the near future. Then a lot more than the Golan is going to belong to Israel. ASSad is taking on the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He should back off and live in peace or he will not live very long unless he is hiding outside of Damascus when Isaiah 17:1 comes to pass. It may not be Israel that destroys Damascus since Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire from heaven, not from an earthly king's weapons.
22. I am taking Assad with me next time I buy a lottery ticket
zionist forever   (08.02.09)
i just get him to tell them I demand that the ticket I am buying here is the willing ticket or I won't buy a ticket my terms are non negotiable. Why do we surrender to this warped way of arab thinking of we promise to pay the full price no matter what you agree on as long as we talk. To Assad the Golan is the fee for talks to take place the result is more concessions from Israel through negotiations. The problem is Assad knows that Israel is run by weak and pathetic politiciansthe majority of whom are obsessed with the peace process. The Golan to most these politicians Bibi included is a disposable object to be traded for what he sees as a more valuable prize. Even Liberman is not that bothered about the future of the Golan. As things stand all it takes is 61 - 59 Knesset majority vote to give away the Golan, Jerusalem or even Tel Aviv.. The majority of the peoplulation has been brought up believing there is nothing more important than the peace process. Whats in it for Israel doesn't even matter all that matters is the peace process. Assad has the arabs on his side. Most of the arab states can't stand the man and don't give a dam about him getting the Golan or not but if its going to get one over on Israel they all want him to have it. He also now has the US on his side and he knows it. Obama might not like Assad or Syrian policies but he will gladly turn a blind eye to anything in the name of the peace process. Assad could have been the mastermiind of 9/11 but Obama would still be saying that asside now we have to talk peace and the prce of peace is the Golan. Thanks to the actions of the Olmert regime taking Assad from an international periah and turning him into a diplomat and inviting Turkey to act as a meditor the Golan is as good as Assads. The only thng keeping it in Israels hands is because he isn't willing to try any political gimiks like Sadat did coming to the Knesset. If he did something like that everybody but the hard right would be saying Assad is serious about peace the Golan is a price worth paying but as things stand its within his grasp he just hasn't taken it yet. Israel needs to start changing its attitudes and start talking about the pros and cons of giving up the Golan economic, security & other and is Assad a threat so we need to give it away. Do that and I think the conculsion is we have alot to loose politically economicly and security wise and very little to gain except maybe a nobel prize for Bibi.
