1. Foreign workers are exploitation
Ilan ,   Ariel   (08.01.09)
Although it is a difficult decision there is no way to allow people to come in on work visas and then stay permanently. Growing up as a child of an illegal worker is not a childhood. They need to be returned with their parents to their country of origin. If these families are so tied to life in Israel then they should be allowed to become proper citizens, but that should be the exception and not the rule.
2. Only in Israel!
Ami ,   Israel   (08.01.09)
1. had their visa (as if they even had one to begin with b/c they are illegals) expired anywhere else from America, UK or France to China they'd be deported with out a second thought. After all, the law is the law and they came ILLEGALLY. 2. The leftist here cry and go berserk when illegal immigrants are about to be deported or the "poor Arabs suffer". but we never hear a peep out of them when Jews get murdered in terror attacks or thrown out of their houses. 3.'Every child in Israel is entitled to citizenship' Yeah if they are here legally... wait in line like everyone else. Illegals every where from Mexico to Africa think they have a special pass, the race card, do things illegally and get what they want in the end. 4. "This is my country," NO IT IS NOT. This is all we need... its enough we have the arabs claiming this all we need is for illegal migrants claiming the Joooooooos are occupying Tel-Aviv.
3. Citizenship
shmuel ,   Israel   (08.01.09)
If you're born in any of the free countries, citizenship is automatic. The same applies here. Deporting children is an infamous and depraved act - shame on us...
4. Every single Israeli will pay for them through their taxes
zionist forever   (08.01.09)
Unless we are planning to deport the parents and let the children grow up in care homes in Israel which is cruel to crueler to the child than deporting it along with the parents. If we are going to let children and parents stay then the message this will send to these economic migrants is make sure the first thing you do when you get to Israel is have a kid. Do that and they that and they know they will never have to go back to your home countries where your standard of living was not as high as it is here. You will probably even get full Israeli citizenship eventually so things will get even better for you. Also the idea this doesn't affect Israels jewish character won't be affected is rediculous. We have thousands of foreign workers here legally on tempory permits that would love to stay for good if they good. There are thousands that have either come into Israel illegally either through thrid parties, they managed to sneak in somehow themselves or they came with tempory permits and never went home. Eventually the numbers add up and they will be a significant percentage of the population. If it were arabs having kids and wanting to stay even the left would be saying no we must send them home because they are not arabs the attitude is they must be given citizenship and allowed to stay. Do we want more of Israel to end up resembling the Eilat which is starting to become a home away from home for usually illegall imigrants. The Tel Aviv bus station. In Jerusalem you have a famous arab market in the bus station you have a famous foreign workers market. We need to be sending as many of them home as possible not hiring more especially with so many families unemployed and living of the poverty line. How many of these lefty wing bleeding heart liberals pro foreign workers rights people would be so supportive of them if they realized that we all pay to keep these people through taxes. One of Israels biggest expenses is alliyah the more immigrants the more it cost the taxpayer. I am sure most are happy to spend tax money on alliyah but how many are willing to agree to pay taxes to support economic migrants who came to Israel for the good life financed by taxpayers. I certainly have no intention on allowing my taxes to be spent so foreigners who know Israel is a soft touch will flood the country. Its time to stop taking the left wing liberal attitudes where we have a duty to take in anybody who wants to matter where they are from. SEND HOME PARENTS AND CHILDREN OF ALL FOREIGNERS WHO SHOULD NOT BE HERE CHILD OR NOT.
5. Israel's Jewish character must NEVER be an issue here
5th generation ,   Israel   (08.01.09)
Given the horrific overhaul Israel's character has gotten since the 1990s, this group here is the least of our worries.
6. and now children are a tool
izzy d   (08.01.09)
so any foreign workers that want residency only need to beget a child and viola!! they have compassionate residency!! Yet another example of people who think with their hearts and not their brains thinking that they should be allowed to dictate policy. "Of course we don't need to understand the ramifications of our actions for we have felt the ramification of our inaction which is the "deportation" of children" of course we didnt protest when we expelled religious settler children because they are religious white children and so they are undeserving of our sympathy.
7. opinion...
ahava ,   telaviv   (08.02.09)
me,as filipino myself...i kinda disagree to my fellow countrymen and the likes...bearing a child in a foreign country is not an excuse to be automatically acquiring of residency or citizenship...in south of telaviv neighborhood, they keep on insisting that it is a international law..may be it applied to the few but not all...i admire they bravery...but i pity their children being used as beggars asking for food and home...it will just break their hearts and will cause a deep trauma in the end...we knew not only in israel...most of the other countries are implementing mass deporatation. In the Filipino community it is known that there are few that are making their pregnancy and children as an excuse to have a ticket or visa to stay and work...don't you ever thaught that your slaving your own children?...These children are not considered Israeli's neither Filipinos until they get back in the Philippines and acquiring naturalization of citizenship for having filipino parents...Fellow country men please think of it all over..think of your children..their future...
8. throw them out
frank ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
illegals are illegal. The gov't wants to delay until october. Then they will cry, the school year started so these kids get to stay. Throw them out along with their parents. Send them to arab countries like the US, England, france. Let those so-called democratic countries take them in. why are the depository of every illegal and their children. liberals can go with them, or let the liberals pay. Why should they be a burden on me because the liberals (minority) want to say they know better. Aren't these the same people, those hundreds, that also think the arabs should get our land? What is it with jew liberals. Anything that is ours they wish to trash and give away. What motivates such and I can't even call it naivate but rather plain stupid and small picture thinking. These liberals are the same people who themselves will be leaving, so why don't they take the illegals with them? Why do they think they can leave their problem, yes it is their problem, because I want them to leave either willinging or we should be extraordinary measures to throw them out. You can take your pick as to which ones, liberal or illegals. In fact, leave the illegals and throw out the liberals. Naw, just kidding, toss them both.....
9. That's not a good idea
MMM ,   USA   (08.02.09)
that a foreign worker whose child was born in that particular country be a citizen automatically. It's not really a very good idea. There are some workers who come to a particular country plans to have a child born in that country so that she/he won't be deported when his/her contract is over.
10. #7 I agree with you
MMM ,   USA   (08.02.09)
I'm a Filipino myself.I know a Filipino, legal workers in the USA,bore two children. That's their excuse so that they won't be deported when their contract is over.
11. Here in America!
MMM ,   USA   (08.02.09)
Illegal Mexicans receive tax refund even though they don't pay tax. They have more rights than US citizens. In my opinion, all illegal aliens must be deported.Legal workers with children born in America should not be granted automatic citizenship. In Japan is very different, there are no Japanese-Filipino or Japanese-American.If you marry a Japanese, you must go home to your native country every six months, you can't become a Japanese citizen even though you're married to a Japanese.I don't agree with that though,it's very inconvenient-go home to my country every six month?
12. Deportation
D. Barnett ,   New York USA   (08.02.09)
As an immigration attorney in America I see illegal aliens deported every day, which often means they must take their U.S. children with them. No one considers this inhuman punishment.
13. for ahava (claiming he/she FILIPINO)
Amy ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
I dont know you and you dont know about us.... Who gave you the idea that Filipinos are using their children to stay and live in Israel forever???? maybe some but not all gveret/adoni.... I cannot believe your saying that to your "fellow countrymen". What a nasty words you write, that Filipina mothers using their children to be beggar for food and home, to slaving their own child, are you serious???? I live near in Takana Merkasit of Tel-Aviv, and i dont see any children beggars....only addicts. If you really know filipino, they work hard, every single day just to make sure that they can feed and gave all the neccesary things for their child and their family in the their country. Dont judge anyone because you really dont know whats going on in every single filipina mothers... Your the one need to think... In my opinion for you, if you cannot say something good and help your own kind just be quiet, live your own life....YOUR ASHAMED OF FILIPINO COMMUNITY.... May God bless you.....
14. Mr. Horowitz, Khenin and Somekh
Linda ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
Show your true face of sympathy by opening your front doors to a few of these children of illigal workers, feed them everyday, clothe them and take them to school. I bet you pretty soon you will have to expand your homes to add extra room cause these children are just going to keep on coming. This is an UNFORTUNATE situation but law is law. You cannot just go to a country, have a baby and expect it to get citizenship and catch a ride on its back and expect to gain citizenship too because you had the child. This is the revolving door that needs to be stopped! Law is law and God forbid should we listen to you bunch pretty soon all of us will have to pay for this. Stop it now. Just two days ago I blamed our immigration system for not being strict enough and said that one day they'll catch on. They sure did pretty fast. Well done. We don't need extra problems we have more than enough to deal with.
15. #3 Incorrect
Daniel ,   San Diego, CA, USA   (08.02.09)
Where did you get this idea? This is true in the United States, but that is the only country I can think of off the top of my head. Certainly it is not true in Japan, Canada, and many of the EU countries. Your parents being illegally in a country in no way entitles you to citizenship. You get citizen when your parents are legal citizens of a country.
16. this is ridiculous!
(08.02.09)
illegal is illegal. anyone without a valid visa should be kicked out. i am not against any race or religion - law is law. illegals (children , adults, men, woman...) OUT.
17. people dont knew this!
ahava ,   telaviv,israel   (08.02.09)
Everywhere in the world foreign workers goal is to brought food to their families table back home...to send their children to school put clothes in their back to give them a decent home and others...check the reality ..that not all these children are product of their legitimate parents...some here are having illicit affairs ang bore a child out of addultery...face the mirror aren't you break the whole foundation of your goal as a hardworking mother..and you even break your family and your DIGNITY.The reality here that you work hard is that the living here cost a lot...it's very expensive right...this is the real deal...if you were in the philippines earning only 30-40%of what you earning here is sufficient to survive every month...this is the irony of life when you dream big you want it to be bigger and bigger not knowing you've hurted and bruises someone. It is also the reason why we are known as imported slaves...male order brides...known to falsificating documents and the likes... These children maybe allowed to stay for another 3 months and then what?...to be asked to pack your stuff and kick u out of israel...whether we put it upside down the state law..there is nothing written that a child bore in the country are automatic citizen...also others countries manifestation not even USA... Everyone is affected on this matter with visas or without visas...what are u claiming here that because your children are bore here they israelis...it is not a valid reason....Why others bear a child here but after few months they are sending them home not claiming their children are israelis...TRUTH SLAP US ON OUR FACE.
18. The issue is more..........
Mike Carmel ,   Rishon le Zion   (08.02.09)
.......straightforward than it would appear to be. Is there any other Western democratic country which EXPELS persons who were BORN WITHIN ITS BORDERS? Of course not! So why should Israel be different? This whole episode is humiliating to our reputation on the global stage.
19. AHAVA AN IMPORTED SLAVES
Orly ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
Why you also here? Because you also dream big? If you know you can survive in the Philippines then... Be Example for them. Go Home. You dont have the rights to use the name AHAVA, your not Israeli and you dont belong here.
20. to orly
ahava ,   telaviv ,israel   (08.02.09)
yes indeed maybe all of us here are imported slaves...but we are working fairly, hard, and with dedication.yes indeed when my visa will be expired and my employer no longer need my service i will go home to my beloved country wholeheartedly... my question to you ..can you do our job?can you take to do all the house cleaning from washing dishes to scrubbing toilets to ironing and some manly job? can u eat after cleaning your employer's poo...to feed them through their stomach..to take their disability...that's why you hired foreign workers because not all israeli could take it. we sacrifice being away from our family because we dream big for them..you may not come from a depressed nation and poor family that's why you're able to say it... what im emphasizing here are some of my fellow filipinos could swallow all discrepancy having a child with another man and breaking their own family..losing their morality just to earn green money... you may not experienced being bullied on the street with your fellow israeli's like a whore asking you ..."do you have a visa?you want one have sex with me and bear a child and voila! so i hope it enlightens you. i pity few that bite this trap because people look it generally that alll of us will be capable to do it.
21. Most of them don't have a heart!
Hani ,   Israel   (08.02.09)
Most Israelis don't have a heart, specially those who have the money! They don't know how this illegal foreigners feel about the whole situation. If they are on their shoes, what are they going to do? Do they have any clue??? I dont think so... These people are just asking for justice! Some of them don't even wanna ask for any citizenship just let them work and they will even pay tax if that's what the government wants. Give them a temporary permit like the refugees to be able to work legally. All they want to do is to support their family. The jobs of these illegal workers does are the jobs that Israelis don't want to do. So who do you think will do it? Nobody but this unfortunate foreigners. So, please stop deporting people instead just give them a temporary permit to work here.
22. Ahava
Amy ,   Israel   (08.03.09)
Its not your business if your own kind do some mistakes in their lives, that is their choice, they are not perfect, nobodys perfect in this world. This fight for childrens rights is not yours, you dont understand because your not in the situation of them. So, PLEASE stop your cruelty words to others espeacialy regarding about children, yes indeed you are stoned hearted and narrow minded. You have your own opinion, i know but you hurting your own kind, that is not right, your not in your land, you supposed to be helping each other. And i do believe that most of those children is born with love of their parents.

Hadas ,   Tel-Aviv   (08.03.09)
Why you calling yourself as a imported slaves? Are you not proud to be a Filipino caregiver? Why you said such things? I pity for you. We have also filipina caregiver, she read and show me what you are written here, were both shock. I am the daughter of her employer (my mother), she love my mother so much and we love her also, we DONT treat her as a SLAVE , she is member of our family. First of all you need to love your work so that you can love yourself and others, nobody force you to work here, we Israeli knows how hard you work for our elders, but come on, before you came here you know that this is the kind of work we can offer, we are too busy working everyday that we dont have time for our elders, and of course we have our own family to take care of. You came here as a worker (caregiver) not as a slave and you know that. If you dont have confidence to yourself feel whatever you want, but dont say that Filipinos is imported slaves, its not true.
