Speaking of the recent influx of post-communist Russian Jews into Israel, we are very lucky to have them. They quickly became adapted to Israel, struggling to buy an apartment while whole families resided together, then another and another. They built small businesses, working hard to see them grow. They attended ulpans, learned Hebrew quickly and became educated in our ways. A surprisingly high number have gone on to university. They make up a significant number of our professional classes, i.e., physicians, computer experts, nurses, engineers. Of course they'll be knocked by longtime Israelis for being involved in criminal activities but, then, we have our own, homegrown, variety at the top of the heap. Russian Jewish youth always join the military and make committed soldiers, many graduating to officer status. They are very health conscious and you can find a strong contingent of Russian Jewish adults at any public gym. I am grateful that they've immigrated to Israel and note that they've already contributed so much to the country in such a short time. The current Talkback and others which I have seen signify the kind of prejudices which Russian Jews have had to put up with -- therefore the emergence of the political party, Yisrael Beiteinu.

Flaws can be attributed to sabras, Russians, Morrocans etc. So what? Well I'm Russian, you've never met me - yet you already hate me? You realize that without us Russians, Hitler would have conquered all of Europe and would have killed all the rest of the Jews. My people have lost 25 million people in WWII. During the siege of Leningrad alone, more Russians died than combined British and US casualties for the entire war combined. My own family lost pretty much all the male family members. Glad to see that grateful descendants (such as yourself) of people who suffered in those times are alive and breathing. No surprise, this is well known without poll.
