1. Israel's incompetent leaders only know RETREAT
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.05.09)
Ehud Barak is a curse upon Israel. He only knows defeat and retreat and for no peace. Israel ,you are to blame for this problem in Lebanon becasue you elect impotent and incompetent, faithless fools to lead you to hell. Olmert ,Livni and now Netanyahu,Barak. Instead of defeating Hizbollah FINISHING THE JOB you chose to listen to your god Bush and his secretary Rice and retreat befcre the Job was done. The same stupidity with Hamas in Gaza ,you chose to stop before finishing the job as a gift to the new incoming god which you also religiously serve and obey. Ehud Barak and the one who brought him into his impotent, incompetent government is your problem more than Hizbollah is.

3. Ghajar
Lee Lipman ,   UK   (08.05.09)
It is essential that the wishes of the residents of Ghajar are honoured. Most of the village took out Israeli citizenship and would be in very real danger should Hezbollah ever get close to them. It is clear that this village either all or half must never go to Lebanon. It must be as Najib Khatib says Ghajar must stay in Israel or go to Syria if a future peace deal is reached. Israel must put the wishes of the residents there first and foremost.
4. No it is not. It belongs to Lebanon and Israel does not want
JO   (08.05.09)
it. Is Lieberman really listening. This village costs too much and they are Lebanese , not Israelis. It belongs in Lebanon. The sooner the better. Most Israelis see this. lieberman is off the wall.
5. What the hell do we need another Arab village for???
Reb L. Yell ,   Carmiel, Israel   (08.05.09)

7. Lieberman is right
Brod ,   USA   (08.05.09)
It is Israel's historic land. In fact, Israel's biblical and historic homeland stretches all the way to the Litani River. (See Map 39, "Holman Bible Atlas" [1998] by Thomas V. Brisco)
8. Israel's leaders need to do whats best for Israel not hizbol

9. #6 Islamofascists
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.05.09)
You mean the greedy and intolwrant Islamofascists who won't let the Jews have a tiny sliver of land to live in peace on ? Look at any map of the middle east and we can see who the greedy fascists are. Don't you greedy pigs have enough land already ?
10. "MUGGER"
AARON ,   Jerusalem   (08.05.09)
I told you, Lieberman will put Israel in danger, much more than the terrorists we the Jews face around the world.
11. #4, yeah you should tell the people who live there
Danny   (08.05.09)
apparently they don't think they are lebanese
12. to all nay sayers against lieberman
(08.05.09)
lieberman knows that should gajhar be returned to lebanon (which its residents refuse to do for good reason), that this tiny village, under lebanon, will become the next hizbullah stronghold, where hizbullah will use the village as a base to attack israel from and whose residents will eventually suffer because of hizbullah activities in their area. don't you see that??? gajhar residents are afraid that should they be under lebanese control, they will loose their peace, their productivity, their lives, because they know what the future will be should they be part of lebanon. it will; become a hizbullah base and the residents do not want to pay the price in deaths and terror by being part of lebanon. part of lebanon means part of hizbullah and the residents of gajhar know who hizbullah is and don't want to give their freedom under israeli sovreignity to the hizbullah thugs who will eventually ruin their village and control them. hameed aboughaze iranian
13. #7 bible?

The biblical time is a waste period and the borders never had been really fixed. So about what time do you speak?
14. #4, #6, #10 guide to the perplexed
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.05.09)
Help us out here. The people of Ghajar want to be Israeli. Because Lieberman says they should be Israeli, you say he is off the wall. The people of Bartaa and Um El Fahem hate Israel and don't want to be Israeli. Lieberman says they should not be Israeli, so you say he's a racist. It seems that Lieberman is consistently fair and you are not. Can you explain your logic?
15. Ermmm arabs want to be part of Israel right?
Yisraeli   (08.05.09)
Let me get this straight here. The arabs of Ghajar want to be part of Israel right? They clearly say so. Hummm what about all that rhetoric of evil Israel and "occupation" bla bla? It seems they know first hand what the real truth is, Israel spells freedom and prosperity whilst being part of the arab world spells death and destruction. Who can blame them for wanting to be citizens of Israel. Are you arab readers getting this? Do you understand the truth? Go ask the arabs of East Jerusalem under whos authority they want to live under. the PA or Israel? Do you know the real answer? Israel boofhead. They are horrified about living under authority of thugs and murderers of palestinian authority. So much for all the arab lies and propoganda!
16. Aaron @ 10; How does Liberman put Israel in danger?
leo ,   USA   (08.05.09)
What kind of danger and why? I bet you do not have reasonable answer.

AARON ,   Jerusalem   (08.05.09)
Let not keep playing games here, this land is not part of Israel. Full Stop. If all New Yorkers love Israel and want to have Israeli Citizenship, they are most welcomed to do so but this does not mean NY City is ours - it will never be, it belongs to the USA. Israel does not need any colonial Foreign Minister to run this country and keep putting us in trouble around the world. Ghajar belongs to Lebanon.
18. hey Marcel got ur prison puter back 4 good behaviour?
(08.05.09)
perhaps you should go and crawl under ur swamp rock and leave us real Israelis alone! We don't want no-body that no-body sent! Shu!
19. Can anyone please explain the point for all the concessions?
Dave_MN ,   Minneapolis, USA   (08.05.09)
I am not an Israeli citizen, nor do I live in Israel, but I just don't understand the logic behind the "pullouts", "withdrawals", "concessions". Any sane person can follow the trail of results that immidietly follow these kind of steps - Oslo let to Intifada, peace effort of 2000 led to another uprising, pullout from south lebanon led to second war, gaza pullout.... well you get the point. Israel will never be "loved" by arabs or the international community no matter what it gives up. There is no historical basis to think otherwise. So why weaken the nation and get enemies closer to home by giving up land? Why give them ideas that they can terrorize Israel in to concessions??? Can someone please put an article together covering these topics???!!!!
20. DIVIDE A SOCIETY ???.
ORAO STRANKA. ,   TSARIGRAD U SRBIA.   (08.05.09)
WHAT KIND OF EVIL ONES TRY TO DO THAT ???. NO I DID NOT READ THE ARTICLR THROUGH. Orao.
21. #17 Aaron, the villagers of Ghajar requested citzenship.
Roman ,   Lod, Israel   (08.05.09)
And got it. After being abandoned by Syria, they were left with three choices - get aid from Lebanese, get aid from Israelis, or starve. They tried getting aid from the Lebanese, and got shot for their troubles during the civil war. So they went to the Israelis and got Israeli citizenship. Somehow, the evil colonialist racist Liberman is capable of seeing that throwing Israeli citizens to Hezbollah's clutches might be just a tad wrong. You, on the other hand, no problem with that. Yes, it's Ghajar is one of the political arguments Hezbollah uses to claim that Israel is still holding Lebanese land - and they change these arguments and claims whenever the effectiveness of the current ones end. You will achieve nothing politically, and turn Arabs with Israeli citizenship into Hezbollah's playthings. "Returning" a formerly Syrian village to Lebanon is not returning land - it's a silly consideration whose main basis is that "all Arabs are the same". Hate to break it to you, but it's a bit different.
22. Okay, so maybe they are Syrian
JO   (08.05.09)
many of their sons go to universities there. Unless the villagers proclaim that they 100% want to be Israelis then their fate is flat. One thing for sure, it is cruel to divide a village, and if you cant visit your father or grandfather , or relatives in Syria, or Lebanon, does it seem fair. The speak arabic and their culture is arabic as well, not Israeli Jewish. It all depends on what the UN, villagers themselves, and Syria and Lebanon can muster. What do the villagers think and want?
23. #22
(08.05.09)
didn't you read what these villagers said???? THEY SAID THEY WANT TO REMAIN ISRAELI CITIZENS! they do not want to be part of lebanon or syria.
24. #17
