1. Hallelujah! about sodding time they woke from their coma!
Talula ,   Israel   (08.06.09)
Better late than never. Now what?
2. Now they speak out!?
nadav ,   tlv   (08.06.09)
After getting excoriated for their trip to beg for more $$ from the Saudis in the name of anti-Zionism, the HRW comes out finally with a report condemning the Hamastan terrorist entity! Would they have done this if their donors weren't outraged by their openly admitted use of anti-israel agenda in order to solicit funds from Saudi Arabia? Makes one wonder? What is clear is that the vigilance of those who believe in true human rights pointed out HRW's biased reporting/agenda
3. now the have woken up, baaaaaa they
ghostq   (08.06.09)
need to switch to more effective meds.
4. I'm dreaming........must be!

~wake up Tony!
5. HRW
Df ,   Israel   (08.06.09)
Hell is freezing over ? Or is it just the HRW has gotten a huge amount of criticism for it's one sided reports about the operation and it's attempt to raise funds from Saudi Arabians no less - those champions of human rights. Either way, I wouldn't jump up and down with joy - I wouldn't trust their motives. And also notice - the report deals with the violation of international law from November 2008. What about the 7 or 8 previous years of rocket bombardment ?
6. What was the source of the problem
Palestinian   (08.06.09)
Hamas won a clean election "democratically" Israel and the West said: NO for democracy YES to the siege, blockading, surrounding and cutting off essential supplies ( Collective Punishment to all the people who elected hamas and who didn't) Hamas to get into and embark a journey for peace, Hamas didn't disappear, therefore deserve to be in.
7. Human Rights?
eddie ,   london UK   (08.06.09)
Since when have Arabs and Palestinains been required to observe human rights? Are they not above the law? And who said Hamas is fighting a war? They are a terror group. And kidnapping a soldier without giving access to red cross or international agencies contravenes the Geneva conventions. But, this will not mkae headlines in the international press.
8. HRW Report:What about the rocket befor November 2008
Daniel ,   Amsterdam NL   (08.06.09)
HRW probably think that were gift made by Palestinian to us. Apparently they are only concerned because some rockets did explode in Gaza killing Pals citizen.
9. War ? ?
Shadi ,   Istanbul, Turkey   (08.06.09)
War is between two armies, fighting between the occupation forces and the Resistance is not a war. Geneva convention gives the right to resist the illegal occupation.
10. HRW is trying to make up for the recent scandal...
Adam   (08.06.09)
over their fundraising in Saudi Arabia. They were caught raising money from an official on the council that institutes their draconian religious laws such as give rape victims the lash, etc. Their pitch was that they go after Israel. There has been widespread condemnation in the NGO community and their credibility has been damaged even among the Left. If the scandal caused them to wake up, then fantastic. But I'll believe that when I see a pattern of fairness, not a one-off report after they are caught admitting they have an anti-Israel bias.
11. To#9 Turkey VS Armenian 1500.000 death
Dani ,   Amsterdam NL   (08.06.09)
They were to weak to resist you,you occupation was not legal either, ERGO do not speak aver the right to resist you do not recognize to the Armenian the same right.
12. to #9
Robert ,   Vienna   (08.06.09)
Yes? Then get the fuck out of Mesopotamia where Turkey kicked out Christians...who is the occupier there? Huh? First admid you commit genoice against, Armenians, Armameans and Greek and then you can have an opinion about this War AND War was between two armies (one was well armed the other not...but that was their own choice and strategy). Last but not least...do you have the right to attack civilians according Geneva convention? Güllergüller!
13. Well said half-truth HRW ! Maybe, next
(08.06.09)
time you will learn the whole truth about Hamastan and will not hesitate to show the entire world how ugly and lethal they are both for the Israelis and their own. Actually, HRW, you may have noticed that Hamas's ways, philosophy, cruelty, crimes are spreading rapidly and firmly all over Europe. So, the "W" will help you watch out.
14. Bit late you idiotic HRW
Zion   (08.06.09)
Should of mass published information about the rocket attacks before, and demanded that Arab world protest against it, but you didn't, you could of prevented the Gaza war. But your too busy making money.
15. Palestinian @ 6; I do not want to dispute
leo ,   USA   (08.06.09)
whether Hamas is democratically elected government or not. It is irrelevant when it comes to outside world. What business is it of mine how you elected your government when this government is hostile to me? As to blockade and such, you can safely thank Hamas actions. You did not lose all of what you lost over night after election. It took Hamas much longer to achieve that. BTW, you knew whom you were electing. Stop being disingenuous.
16. another whitewash!
tom ,   toronto, canada   (08.06.09)
"since 2008"?! what about the tens of thousands of rockets fired at israeli civilians since 2003? are those NOT war crimes? or is "human rights watch" only responding to criticism of its one-sided condemnation of operation cast lead, and operating in a context-less vacuum?
17. HRW
Louis Fried ,   Woodbridge, Canada   (08.06.09)
Unusual timing for this latest HRW report. Could it be the result of the expose of HRW soliciting funds in Saudi Arabia by trumpeting its anti-Israel credentials? HRW has no crediblity and no authority.
18. YES IT IS. THAT WASNT THE ONLY WAY TO SPEAK OUT
ATİLLA KARAGÖZOĞLU   (08.06.09)
WE MUST BE HONEST. WE MUST BE DIRECT. WE MUST BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO SPEAK OUT WITH POZITIVE WORLD. *** EVEN ENEMIES CHILDREEN ARE CHILDREEN. EVEN ENEMIES CIVILIANS ARE CIVILIANS. *** SUICIDE BOMBS, THE ROCKETS CANT BE THE ONLY WAYS TO FIGHT BACK. THERE MUST BE SOME OTHER RESPECTFULL WAYS. *** WE TALKED AGAINST TO ISRAEL ENOUGH. ITS TIME TO WARN HAMAS FOR BETTER RESSISTANCES. PLEASE DONT TELL ME ANYTHING. THERE MUST BE SOME OTHER WAYS. THERE MUST BE.
19. #6 Just cause u voted "democratically" does not mean we have
rebecca ,   Modiin   (08.06.09)
to like you. You democratically voted to shoot rockets at us, and send people (and horses) to bomb us, so we respond to your collective vote. Hitler was also voted in democratically. At least the first time.
20. 8: No it's not a 'war crime' because it was during peacetime
Global Citizen ,   Israel & USA   (08.06.09)
Never mind that it should make it twice as bad. Just another psychological manipulation that makes it OK for the world to excuse terrorism.
21. To # 12. 14 To me human rights are irrelevant.
Shamil Benyaminov ,   US, NYC   (08.06.09)
To # 12. 14 I agree with both of you. To me human rights are irrelevant. They probably did not get enough funding this time from “Religion of Peace”. As soon as money will flow into their hateful and propaganda agenda, they will overturn that ruling. UN is officially denying with help of Religion of Peace funding that we Jews never had 2 holy historical temples, in other words they are trying to rewrite a history and facts about our roots and etc. Human Right, UN, Greenpeace and etc one big hate fest.
22. #9 resisting occupation means
(08.06.09)
going against the solders that are coming to hurt you. Firing a missile at people who happen to be the 'same kind of people' as the solders does not count as 'resisting'.
23. #6 And WE voted 'democratically' to protect ourselves from
democratic idiots ,   like hamass!!!!!   (08.06.09)
24. no mystery here
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.06.09)
As so many Talkbacker point out HRW is a Saudi-funded organization. The Saudis ordered the HRW puppets to condemn the Iran-funded Hamas as part of their effort to prop-up their allies from the corrupt Fatah. #6, they are playing with you.
