Surely planes can be protected with passengers taking carry on luggage that is screened and hand checked and x-rayed before going on the plane so that prescription meds and a change of underwear and and t-shirt and a few personal items like toothpaste and brush are at hand. Perhaps the airline industry should pay mechanics more so there will be fewer malfunctions.

medieval??????? then how do you explain that not a single el al flight or plain has EVER EVER BEEN LOST. not one single crash. not one single death because of pilot or mechanical errors. not one single el al casualty. ever. unlike most other flight companies who suffered great personal and human loss.

it was one single crash because of engine failure. it was not a passanger plane, but a cargo plane. they lost 4 unfortunate lives and some 40 people were killed on land by this crash. this is the only such crash in israeli flight and el al history. compared to other airlines with multiple crashes from every country, el al has the best record in the world for safety. period. i still maintain my point of view.
