31. Andy, I know more stories about people and animals in public
Jean-Pierre ,   Zurich Switzerland   (08.08.09)
transport. I am coming to Dortmund tomorrow. Wanna hear more stories? Contact me.
32. Look at the ELAL side of the story
Jean-Pierre ,   Zurich, Switzerland   (08.08.09)
An excentric woman wants to fly to Israel with her dog. She is ready to pay for all the expenses. She pays for all the seats used by her DOG. She pays for the vet. Why is it wrong? The money is used by Elal just like the money earned from any other passenger. Don't think in terms of hungry children. There i sno connection. This is a business transaction.
33. Spoilt Doggie
adelaide ,   S.A.   (08.08.09)
Dogs are without a doubt man's best friend and if I were in the same financial position, I would do the same thing with my doggie!
34. #17 the doc- a vet?
Lisa   (08.08.09)
your reaction is just as extreme and uncalled for as the other TBs, don't you think? This story is NOT newsworthy- it belongs in the glamour-celebrity section of some cheap mag... not on the same page as REAL news.... People with money can do what they want- burn it, give it away, eat it for all I care- but I think it is wrong to flaunt it in front of ordinary people who sometimes do not know where their next meal or rent is coming from. A bit more discretion wouldn't hurt- may the lady be happy with her pooch- I pity her that she has not found a worthy human being to give her Lov and attention to... are you volunteering, Doc?
35. Don't mind #17 His bark is worse than
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.08.09)
his bite. And Orchuk is one lucky s.o.b.
36. Dog lovers
miri ,   israel   (08.08.09)
It takes all kinds of people to make up the world. This wealthy lady thinks her dog is a person - and from what I have seen on TV - she is not alone ! A dog is a dog is a dog !! Treat him with affection but don't overdo it.
37. I just love crazy old rich people
99 cats ,   tel aviv, israel   (08.08.09)
this is great! let me guess, she is leaving the inheritance to the dog too! Hey, its her money, she can do whatever she wants

41. to #1 and rest of the critics...
mark ,   ca   (08.08.09)
So,according to you, I have to feel guilty that my dachshund flies with me in my Bombardier Global Express??? I don't.You may call it self centered or someone with a big ego but in reality it is nothing.Maybe in her case this dog is more loyal to her than most of the people that she have to deal with.In my case,I'm simply filthy rich.:-))
42. lots of people benefit from this
zionist forever   (08.08.09)
It means ELAL is making money & if they are making money then they are hiring people. If people have jobs then they spend money When people start spending money it helps the economy recover & life gets better for everybody. I know in the scale of things its only a small part she has to play but everybody is like a cog that makes the engine turn so even little things help. I just hope they put a couple of trees in the business class toilets otherwise things might get messy.
43. Pet Airline
NYC Girl   (08.08.09)
Recently a "pets only" airline was instituted here because, apparently, there are enough people who fear having to put their pets in the cargo hold of a plane where there have been injuries, fatalities, and lost pets. Maybe this seemingly well-to-do lady just decided to take things one step further.
44. Rivkah's Dog
Terry Ann ,   Bristol, TN USA   (08.09.09)
Ah. I am glad Rivka is willing to spend her money on her beautiful dog. Dog's are people too. I salute Rivka. In contrast if I had that kind of money I would be forced to buy a home as I am homeless then fly to California and visit my son who is working on his PhD there.
45. #41 mark, the filthy rich
Lisa   (08.09.09)
why should you feel guilty, why should we feel guilty? if this makes you happy fine- it still isn't world news- it is celebrity gossip. Filthy rich- and you are mingling with the plebes here? Life must be boring up there, LOL
46. This dog is treated better than some children.
Safta ,   Israel   (08.09.09)
If this lady has so much money to spend on her dog I hope she spends the same amount to feed hungry Israeli children. Some people just don't know what to do with their money........What a shame!
47. #25 .. and where exactly does it say that?
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.09.09)
48. #35 Another burning hat...
The Doc ,   Haifa, Israel   (08.09.09)
.. and yes, Orchuck is a lucky dog.
49. Is she hiring?
Veterinary Nurse ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.09.09)
I'm a Veterinary Nurse by profession, is she looking to hire an assistant to watch and take care of her dog when she is not able to, or merely accompany her to make it easier on her and her dog? Obviously, she loves her pet and can afford to give her dog the best. I only wish I could afford to have done the same when flying my dogs (who have flown in cargo with EL AL several times and I was satisfied.) However, this must be a very special woman with a very special dog. If her dog needs an experienced pet professional assistant she can contact me. This is for real. Yom Tov

"..mingling with plebes here.." . Lisa, you have a huge problem with self confidence. In my eyes everyone is equal, but you have a problem. "..it is wrong to flaunt in front of ordinary people.." .Story was reported by media. Rivkah didn't asked for it. My response was to #1. FYI,all of my friends ARE "ordinary" people and we are know each other for over 40 years and most of them benefited greatly from my success. If you think that I inherited all of my wealth, you are wrong.Started with a few $$$.Please, keep your sarcasm for someone else.
51. #46
mark ,   ca   (08.09.09)
Shame? Why??? Maybe she gives $$$$ to feed hungry children. We don't know and THIS IS NOT OUR BUSINESS!!!! Last year my family donated 1.8 million dollars to charity. Yes, $1.8 million. But we NEVER EVER give the money to any organization because we know that most of the money will be spent on bureaucracy. We choose dosens of hard working teens with good grades from disadvantaged famalies and pay their college tuition. Simple, effective and no media involvement ;-)))
52. #47 read the title, Doc
Lisa   (08.09.09)
it says in the title that she is an Israeli woman- Rivkah?---- what, Israeli woman don't do frivolous things- like other people? LOL
53. #50 Mark- no problem
Lisa   (08.09.09)
I have no problem whatsoever with self-confidence- I happen to know many super rich people who have also no problem with me being not so 'filthy' rich... it was the filthy that offended me, not you traveling with Dachsi on a private jet-. I have also no problem with Mrs Rivkah- as you mistakenly assume. I said this was not newsworthy- it was in the wrong paper... and it is. If Rivkah gives her money away- good... if you do the same- I can respect that... if you made the money yourself that is even more commendable- you owe me no explanation- my response was hardly sarcastic.- I was wondering why you bothered to even read this article in the first place... because you were attracted by the headline? So was I- it is gossip... and please, next time, drop the 'filthy' rich? it makes it sound sordid. Honest money is NOT filthy.
54. Minding One's Own Business
Jonathan Cohen ,   Savyon, Israel   (08.09.09)
What business is it of any of you rude nosey and bored people how other people spend their money. Would any of you like to be told what to do with your money? You've all been in Israel too long and forgotten how to behave appropriately.
55. Dog is lucky he doesnt have to eat food in economy-here he
Alan ,   SA   (08.09.09)
has a nice bones smorgasbord and silver service dog bowl .Also the checkin is easier for the dog . Ill advise my dog to think about an upgrade next time
56. #53
mark ,   ca   (08.09.09)
Lisa,"filthy " rich have two meanings.Usually people who get offended by the term "filthy "rich, are the ones who invested ( and lost) with someone like Madoff. I hope I'm wrong;-)))
57. Why not
Avi ,   Israel   (08.10.09)
Oprah Winfrey flys her dogs by private jet to meet her and my poor pooches have to make do with the back seat of the Mercedes when they have a hair appointment. If you have the money thats your right.
58. #19 Bunnie Meyer
Avi ,   Israel   (08.10.09)
How do you know that this women dosent dontate to charaties as well. As usual you are quick to condem and judge others without even knowing the facts. Now talking of judgement im sure God will judge you for choosing the holy city of LA and deserting Jerusalem !
59. #56 filthy rich
Lisa   (08.10.09)
Mark, thanks for your concern- yes, you are wrong, and no- I would NEVER... and I did not loose, I was lucky- or smart, LOL- I am not American and English is not my mother tongue- so 'filthy' to me means just that- money gained through illegal or shady deals...
