1. It was stupid to lie about such a small
Joe ,   Ohio, USA   (08.10.09)
thing and I think resigning over it is a little more than is essentialy required. Honesty and integrity in a officer is essential but we all have our moments. Now if your politicians had half of this mans integrity you'd have it made.
2. a stupid lie but the punishment is too harsh
JO   (08.10.09)
If he has such an examplary career he is worth keeping/. Is this a serious crime? was it a military car or special military only vechile? It seems harsh. Yes he should be punished but this? I dont know.
3. Can't be trusted if you lie about something so small.

And, his wife had no judgment at al, sad but time to go.l
4. i believe that this man
(08.11.09)
is honorable despite his mini lie. he had an exemplary military career, and i assume he is druze...and served his country in an exemplary and loyal way. it may have been a judgement mistake to let his wofe use this military vehicle, but it is not a crime!!!! my god. all the good citizens of this country need TO STAND UP AND MAKE SURE THIS WORTHY INDIVIDUAL DOESN'T RETIRE AT ALL. HE HAS A GREAT CAREER AHEAD. HE DESERVES TO STAY. yes, he should be reprimanded or given a due punishment. however, to be tried? for what???? for god's sake.
5. The only IDF officers found guilty of any crime ..
Chanalau, Tova ,   London, UK   (08.11.09)
just happen to be Druze or Bedouins; never Jews - with their get out of jail free card (also known as a kipa) to protect them.
6. JAG
Ricardo Macher ,   KarneiShomron-Israel   (08.11.09)
Unluckily people in JAG believe they are an example to be followed and judge harshly the ones that risk their lives. They should be sent to the front at least a week every month to bring them back to reality. Elitist snobs are not needed in the army. The morale of the army is more important to Israel than small things like a lie on that, a reprimand is more than enough. To loose a very good commander because of that is a shame for JAG and not a compliment.
7. #5 here's ur homework...
(08.11.09)
Please provide the name of the following three IDF Jewish Israeli officers who where fround guilty of military infractions or as you put it crimes: 1. The highranking officer who also served as Defense Minister who was demoted and had his pension reduced for sexual harrassing female soldiers 2. The highranking officer who allowed his 14 year old son to drive a military vechicle and then lied about it after the boy had an accident 3. The commanding officer who gave an illegal order when he ordered his soldier to fire at the feet of an unarmed Palestinian civilian at a check point. In other words Chanalau Tova you don't know spit from shinola and we are tired of reading your blathering blabbering bumbling bologna!
8. #5 Tova
Avraham ,   Israel   (08.11.09)
Are you stupid or something? Many times jews (even those with kippot) have been demoted, reprimanded and even charged for their crimes commited while in the IDF. Just read the papers or listen to the news.
9. We don't need generals who have bad judgement.
