2. Seems Clear That Each Fears The Other ...
Moderate Jew ,   New Jersey, USA   (08.18.09)
a very good thing!
3. Sorry but this is delusional
Danny   (08.18.09)
Everyone knows how Lebanon War 3 will go. It will start well and the world will start screaming blue murder. Israel will then have "humanitarian pauses". Accusations of "war crimes" will fly around - weirdly never ever to be substantiated - sooner or later a missile hits a home or a tank shell does and the IDF spokesman will come on and give a hand-wringing whiney speech about how Israel regrets the death blah blah blah.... The world media will not be allowed to show any Hizbollah deaths, will swallow whole and uncritically all the propaganda Hizbollah puts out. Eventually Israel will be forced to stop, Hizbollah will fire 20 missiles just before the ceasefire and declare victory. We have all seen this movie.
4. Nasaralah
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (08.18.09)
The battle cries of Nasarala, were not ment for Israel, but for the Lebaese people:If you don't give in to my demands,I will start a war with Israel, and you the Lebanese people will pay the price, and given the courage of the Leaders of Lebanon,he will prevail.
5. Great Article-What About Revenge For Mugniyah?
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (08.18.09)
What does Israel if/when there is an attack on Israelis in South America or somewhere by Hezbollah which doesn't claim credit?
6. Really
Sami ,   Ann Arbor, USA   (08.18.09)
Dont you think if this were all true, Israel would have already conducted a second war on Lebanon by now especially in 2008 when Bush was still in power? No, I can absolutely say that the Israelis are scared of the surprises that Nasrallah spoke of that werent introduced to the Israelis in 2006. The Israelis cannot suffer another blow because then their deterence will truly be diminished.
7. NASRALLAH
Barney ,   uSA   (08.18.09)
OF COURSE HE IS AFRAID, WHY ELSE WOULD HE BE HIDING UNDERGROUND LIKE A MOLE BLUSTERING ABOUT HIS POWER. NASSIE BABY, EVERYONE KNOWS YOU ARE A COWARD GRASPING AT STRAWS TO SHOW SOME KIND OF STRENGHT THAT DOES NOT EXIST. EVEN THE LEBANSESE WHOSE LAND YOU HOLD HOSTAGE TO THE WHIMS OF THE FANATICAL IRANIAN MULLAHS ARE TIRED OF YOUR ASS SO DO US ALL A FAVOR AND COME OUT OF THE GROUND SO YOU CAN BE ELIMINATED OR QUIETLY DISAPEAR INTO THE NIGHT OR GO TO IRAN WHERE MAYBE SOMEBODY LIKES YOU
8. I just hope author is not too confident.
leo ,   usa   (08.18.09)
9. Actually, he is not scared!
Daniel ,   Israel   (08.18.09)
He is sheet-scared! Check his laundry; you will find it! So are his subordinates! Next time they will vanish from face of this earth, wasting all the investments Iran and Syria made.
10. So whats new ?
Nathan Rai ,   bangalore   (08.18.09)
Nasrallah is a "man" of Israels making. Other wise he is a rat. And a scared rat at that. That he spends his life in rat holes proves how much he beleives in his Mahdi. That he spends his life in rat holes proves how much he beleives in his divine victory That Shiites felicitate and celebrate "mujahid heros" whose greatest act of bravery are against sleeping families and 5 year old girls an unsuspecting civilians explains why they are called heretic sons of snakes and monkeys by true Moslems So whats new ?
11. Nasrallah and the truth about the second Lebaness war.
Ron B. ,   Lod   (08.18.09)
Nasrallah concealed the true facts from the Lebanese people and perhaps even from Iran. Hezbollah fed reports of successes and victories to both audiences. Despite the false reports, however, Tehran likely realized the scope of disaster Hezbollah had suffered, and there is no doubt that Nasrallah himself grasped the extent of the damage that had been done to his organization and himself. 12. Very, very, very silly!
Wildmandxb ,   M.E.   (08.18.09)
This is the most silly, stupid, dellusioned piece of childish article i have read for sometime now! I mean, the world knows very well the blow Hizbulla has afflicted upon israel in the 2006 war...who are you people trying to trick? Yourselves? The homeless? The uneducated fools amongst you? This is truely amazing, how the author plays it so gullable and unwise with his statements! Hizbulla sustained a terrible blow by the IDF? Hizbulla will loose everything in the next war? Is this the way israelis take precautions? By being over confident about their capabilities and assuming that their enemy has nothing new for them? To the Author and the illusioned talkbackers who believe the words instilled by the above document, keep living in this dream world you created for yourselves, you are only making it easier for Hizbulla! " IDF is aware of this modus operandi and is ready for it" ..." After sustaining such a terrible blow from the IDF, Nasrallah has no urge to fight again" ...How more pathetic can this get to with such statements, trying to trick the readers into thinking israel's obvious defeat in 2006 was plain victory, if it was a victory, how come the IDF is changing it's tactics! Plain BS!
13. you must understand
D ,   haifa   (08.18.09)
that all arab leaders are affraid of israel , some of them are willing to do whatever it takes to make israel happy , and there are those who are willing to die for a cause like nassrallah , he knows he will lose big if an allout war breaks , but at the same time israel will not come out of it unscathed , there will be lots of loss in israel , and who knows ! for sure there will be another nassrallah somewhere else who will also threaten israel , in the end the bigger looser in my opinion will be israel , she will never ever live in peace , and will be in wars for ever ... start thinking of peace end the occupation now , and free your own people before anyone else ..
14. israel is so scared :) it's a natural human react
Jalal ,   Gaza   (08.18.09)
israel is so scared :) it's a natural human reaction
15. Stupid article
Ethan ,   Eilat   (08.18.09)
We will not win the next war by fighting the last war better.
16. FIRST MISSILE STRIKE !!!.
Orao Stranka. ,   Tsarigrad u Srbia.   (08.18.09)
IF IRAN,SYRIA,HIZBOLLAH AND HAMAS, STRIKE ISRAEL FIRST AND SIMULTANIOUSLY, WITH EVERYTHING THEY HAVE OF MISSILES, AND DO IT AS FAST AS THEY CAN, WHAT COULD ISRAEL DO AGAINST IT???. THERE IS ONLY ONE OPTION FOR ISRAEL HERE, AND THAT IS TO STRIKE THEM FIRST. IT MUST BE EVEN PLEASANT TO ISRAEL, TO COUNTER THE RETALIATORY STRIKES FROM THE 4 ABOVE, AS IN COMPARISON TO THAT THOSE 4 STRIKE ISRAEL FIRST. Orao.
17. #16 Orao: Where are you?
Wildmandxb ,   M.E.   (08.18.09)
Are you living comfotably in serbia? That's what i thought! Why don't you go live in israel and voice your opinion? Scared? or is it your hatred coupled with your uneducated sense of reasoning that make you think that way? I can assure you neither iran, nor hamas nor hizbulla nor syria have any interest in striking israel first! it is just a matter of distrust that makes both sides believe that the other side will strike first! i suggest you read more about the issue, educate yourself, then make a proper proposition other than the silly comment you made!
18. Pure baby; way - way aaayaaua
Alex   (08.18.09)
19. success in war
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (08.18.09)
The war was between 3000 fighters against a military of 100000 soldiers with airplanes, warships and tanks. There was no chance Hezbolla could defeat the IDF, but victory was surviving for a month and causing a few hundred thousand refugees in Israel. Now, every Arab child knows that you can fight the IDF and you don't need to run. Next time, or in twenty years, it won't be 33 to 1, but 1 to 1. With all due respect to Bechor, however you look at it, the IDF suffered a defeat and Hezbolla a great victory. Bechor underestimates how badly the Kadima/Labor regime damaged Israel.
20. DO THIS ONE HAVA A REVELATION FROM JEHOWAH ???.
Orao Stranka. ,   Tsarigrad u Srbia.   (08.18.09)
PERHAPS THIS ONE HAVE HEARD HIM SPEAK ABOUT WHAT HE WRITES ???. PERHAPS THIS ONE ARE IN COMMAND OF THOSE 4 ENEMIES OF ISRAEL SO HE CAN ASSURE US THAT - I can assure you neither iran, nor hamas nor hizbulla nor syria have any interest in striking israel first! DO ANYBODY THINK THOSE 4 WILL SIT ON THEIR HANDS, IF THEY KNOW / BELIEVE, ISRAELI FIRST STRIKE IS IMMINENT ???. FURTHER - it is just a matter of distrust that makes both sides believe that the other side will strike first! DISTRUST BECAUSE OF WHAT ??? BECAUSE OF UNEDUCATION ???. BECAUSE OF HISTORICAL FACTS I WOULD RATHER SAY !!!. AND THERE IS AN OLD LESSON REGARDING VIOLENCE - THAT IS - - ACTION ALWAYS BEATS REACTIONS - !!!. Orao.
21. #17, that would be far more credible
Danny   (08.18.09)
If Hizbollah hadn't struck first in 2000 and again in 2006.
22. #12, what crap
Danny   (08.18.09)
what "blow" did Hizbollah inflict on Israel? In terms of the number of Israelis they killed it was the lowest cost war Israel every fought. In terms of economic damage, it was insignificant - especially when compared to the first days of the intifada. Please educate us ignorant people exactly what "blow" we suffered.
23. Also UK,EU and US have themself experienced this asymetric
Alan ,   SA   (08.18.09)
type of warfare They see how the Taliban, the Iraqis,Al Queda and all those sorts fight and kill their own troops How Women and Children are used as shields How weapons and Rockets are hidden in houses How no enemy bodies are ever found. Roadside IED Bombs... Booby traps How the enemy claim every group is a WEDDING Party. How the choir of home based ANTI WAR activists scream "War Crime" at every counter move. Israels contribution to civilisation is in the perfection of countering this horrible type of Terror War
24. How about peace instead of promoting war.
BRUNO ,   long beach, ca   (08.18.09)
The author strikes me as someone who is out of touch with everything. We all know Hizballah is 10 times stronger than 2006, as well as Israel. Why don't we pause and start talking peace, freeze the settlements and maybe then all the tension will go away. Jews wake up and smell the coffee. War will hurt us all. Israel is no longer invincible.
25. The Biggest Lie
Samer Salami ,   LA & USA   (08.18.09)
Yesterday it was revealed in the well connected newspaper "Al-Akhbar" that Hizballah fed the spy networks disinformation about the locations of it is large missiles that the IAF claimed great success in destroying in the first sortirs. So it seems there is alot that IAF & IDF needs to learn about LEBANON even after 3 defeats in 30 years, care for another tryout?
26. #24 Where have you been living? Mars?
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.18.09)
"Why don't we pause and start talking peace, freeze the settlements and maybe then all the tension will go away." Exactly. Just like we did in Oslo. Just like we did in Wye. Just like we did in Camp David. Just like we did in Annapolis. In all those times it worked SO well! So let's just talk peace and remove the settlements, and then everybody would love us. As you say, maybe all the tension would just go away, dissolve and disappear.... Never mind all the countless blown up buses, restaurants and markets we have endured from Palestinian terrorists, in return for us recognizing the PLO and withdrawing from their towns. Never mind the thousands of Kassams raining on the South, in return for the Disengagement. Never mind the unprovoked abduction and killing of three of our soldiers on the Lebanese border in 2000, in return for our withdrawal from Lebanon. Never mind the terrorist attacks from infiltrating Hizbullah terrorists. Never mind the unprovoked abduction and killing of our two soldiers in 2006. Never mind that Nasarallah routinely reiterates his commitement for the liberation of ALL of Palestine and the destruction of the Zionist entity. Never mind that Hamas' charter does not recognize Israel, and similarly calls for its destruction. Never mind all these solid facts, why let them confuse us and distract us from the road to hell, oops, I mean, peace? Get in tune with reality, Bruno. Do you really believe the naive pipedream you're talking about? In the Middle East reality, every capitulation or gesture is perceived as weakness. We learned this the hard way, and we have no intention of repeating this deadly mistake again.
27. Sami (#6), Ethan (#15): Good point!
Tom ,   LA, USA   (08.18.09)
I'm totally convinced that there's only one thing that would move Nasrallah, which is probably Israel's only "strength" against people who have as lively hearts as they have miraculous bravery, that is: Israel's cowardly bombing and killing of thousands of innocent civilians, like it did in last war with Hezbollah, and in its war on Gaza! Otherwise, Nasrallah would've even never agreed to stop the war, until Israel even suffered a greater defeat, as was the case when it was forced out of the South in year 2000!
28. #25 This is called psychological warfare
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.18.09)
After many recent setbacks (a quarter of its fighters killed in the 2006 war, taking the blame from Lebanese citizens for that war, having Mughniyeh assassinated, losing the election, and having their weapon-filled bunker exploding, thus exposing their lies) - Hizbullah is now desparate to generate any sort of positive propeganda about itself. So it invents "spy networks" that it exposed, probably making them up or greatly exaggerating about their activities. It also invents stories like you mentioned and sells them to Arab newspapers. I wonder what proof does that story present? What is its connection to reality? Clearly nothing solid. After all, the great explosions of the blown-up missile caches were clearly seen. The name of the game is psychological warfare.
29. #14 Israel is scared?
Tahl ,   Ashdod, Israel   (08.18.09)
You and your fellow Gazans were running like scared little mice and peeing in your pants seven months ago! And so were your Hamas "heros"... Hiding from the IDF from behind women and children. Perhpas you need a reminder?
30. Nassrallah is still living/hiding in a HOLE
Silence is golden   (08.18.09)
and any psychologist will tell you that when one feels the need to scream and shout to get a message through (i.e all Nasrallah's speeches), it means he is weak and unsure of himself. Confident people speak softly and quietly. Nassrallah always seems to be screaming. Ouch! my ears are sore. Please someone in Lebanon tell the mad dog to stop barking. I can't hear myself think ☺
