I guess 'Jews usually stick to their own' tradition has long gone... I am a foreign man working in Israel for a multinational company. Both I and my foreign collegues get a lot of attention from Israelis which can sometimes be annoying. I dated an Israeli girl, young, educated, good looking girl, but after she and her family kept insisting to get me into a marriage and make her to settle with me in the US. Several of my friends have similar stories with Israeli men and women. Also, I'm learning Hebrew for my work and you would be surprised to see how many young Israeli men and women are dating and marrying non-Jewish foreigners. Those Hebrew classes are full of non-Jewish foreigners who are dating Israelis. If you were a foreign man like me in Tel Aviv, especially an American, you'd see how your kind could be quite annoying with their endless desire to date, marry and settle abroad.

I don't doubt your story but it's obvious you don't know what constitutes as a Jew in Israel. Many of the Israelis who go "after" foreign co-workers are probably not Jewish under Jewish law. For example most immigrants from Russia are not technically Jewish an don't identify as Jews. That is why many of them leave Israel after a few years. Of course the Hebrew classes you refer to are you going to be filled with foreigners who are involved with Israelis, many who are non-Jews. Why else would a non-Jewish foreigner take Hebrew langage classes? Most real Jews in Israel, even the secular ones, are pressured to marry other Jews by their families. That's why many of their ancestors came to Israel in the first place. Making assumptions about Israelis when you've only met a small sample of them is ridicoulous.
