1. So what will he do for an encore?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.20.09)
Pity he took this way out. He might have helped as an example to others. Committing crimes for revenge will always backfire. He ruined his reputation and let us all with a bad memory of himself. Why wasn't he on a suicide watch? Too much trouble for his jailers?
2. the police messed up, oh I can hear the law
ghostq   (08.20.09)
suit against them, he tried to kill himself before and finaly he succeeded, DAMN... when I compared it to the Robin williams movie Smoochi must die I sdidn't ment it literaly. maybe I psychick or something.
3. Didn't want to be held accountable for his vile actions
Talula ,   Israel   (08.20.09)
What a coward. I won't miss him at all.
4. Those poor children
a parent   (08.20.09)
Please, the two wives, look after them, with no 'rating' in mind, if you're strong enough to do this. I wont be buying trash interviews in this and next weekend papers, that's for sure. Those responsible for recently planting the rubbish as if from the jerusalem post office three months ago (lol..now a bittere gelechte) will have a party no doubt, with all their usual ugly fotos/promos. They are no better that he was.
5. WHAT ANSWERS CAN WARDERS HAVE ?
ROLAND SEENER ,   LONDON ENGLAND   (08.20.09)
THE MAN WAS INNOCENT UP TO THIS POINT OF TIME.WARDERS HAD A WARNING THAT THIS COULD HAPPEN WHEN HE FIRST ATTEMPTED SUICIDE .IF THE MAN WAS A PSYCHIATRIC RISK HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE HOSPITAL WING,OR A MENTAL FACILITY FOR OBSERVATION.
6. Baruch Dyan Emet
Wise Saba ,   Israel   (08.20.09)
This is what schmutz does to a person, very tragic.
7. well,
Stephen ,   abroad   (08.20.09)
by his death dudu has proved that he was innocent, hasn't he? Indeed, following an unwritten human prejudices, every single man who passes away becomes if not a holy man, but at least an innocent one. ----------- What's a stupid approach! Not every one who flied away was a good guy.
8. he had the faith and courage
.... ,   iraq   (08.20.09)
if this man is not psychic he loose the faith and courage to stay alive .. before years i did not like him and when they caught him many of arabs say why he did not kill himselfe they think he had no courage for this ... after two years trial they hanged him .. i said he had faith and courage to stay .. he had sympathy from most people also those who did not like the person
9. @8 Iraq
(08.20.09)
Are you talking jibberish, I don't understand what you are trying to say.......Ynet please explain this TB if you posted it....maybe there is a genius at Ynet who understood this ridiculous TB
10. I'm sorry for his kids & family...
(08.20.09)
11. well for dudu the trial continues
torah scholar ,   israel   (08.20.09)
only this time it won't end.
12. Another routine failure by the IPS
Ken Besig ,   Israel   (08.20.09)
The Israel Prison Service should be thoroughly investigated by the media, not by the government. It isn't just the suicides, it's the overall shoddy management, indifferent and badly paid guards, filthy and poorly maintained institutions, routine psychological and even physical violence against prisoners, denial of basic rights and adequate nutrition and even medical care by the IPS authorities, as well as simple administrative failures such as the Topaz suicide, which could, should, and would have been prevented had the guards been doing their jobs properly.
13. The Media Frenzy
Alan ,   Ashkelon   (08.20.09)
Just imagine how much the media lunacy surrounding his life and case played a role in his determination to take commit suicide. He committed a horrendous crime with these beatings, yes, but he was not only punished (or soon to be) by the courts, he was absolutely publicly humiliated and tormented by media outlets such as this very one, that splattered his name and photos (and those of his entire family!) in the raunchiest ways. I cannot help but place blame on Israeli "news" ("sabotage"?) outlets. We, the public, want the information, of course, but too much can, well, destroy an entire life.
14. Dudu Topaz
Sad ,   Israel   (08.20.09)
I feel so sorry for his kids, and his mother if she is still alive. Dudu had talent and looks, but he also had deep emotional problems.
15. Most "suicides" in jails or prisons are executions by guards
Rivkah   (08.20.09)
I suspect someone wanted him quiet about something he knew or someone hated and paid the guards to report a "cell-i-cide". That happened so many times in California prisons (murder for hire by guards killing inmates) that the federal government took over the California prisons a year or so ago to protect the prisoners from the guards. It wasn't enough that the guards made ten thousand dollars a month in salaries, they wanted more from a side job of murdering inmates. So prison guards in California got judged by a State tax revenue that resulted in the loss of over 3200 jobs for prison guards. Hope the sadistic ones were fired, but that is not likely since there is little justice in the world or the American INjustice system, what a former Wall Street Journal Editor calls it.
16. He is either in a better place and is comforted or is in a
Rivkah   (08.20.09)
worse place, wishing he was back in an Israeli prison. The physical body goes to sleep at death but the spirit returns to the Lord and the soul goes to a place of peace or a place of torment.
17. SYMBOLIC
DAVID ,   JUDEA   (08.20.09)
This is symbolic of the ego driven elite of this country. They rather choose the easy way out, after plain criminal behavior. Instead of dealing with life’s challenges head on and ignoring reality, there is only one option left in their eyes, which by the way is the ultimate show of arrogance. The media have poisoned people's brains so much that all they believe in is fame and fortune. There is this constant need for people to get media attention no matter what. In the end it just shows how empty life is for these celebrity and celebrity wannabees. That this much clamored Hellenist lifestyle is a spiritual dead end, we see by the increased violent murders behavior, in our so beloved secular Zionist role model society. This is not a Democracy, but an Idiocracy, whoever gets the media attention becomes a hero, no matter how badly role models they are.
18. to #16 some souls got unfinished bussiness
ghostq   (08.20.09)
on earth and wonders for a long time(usuly they died unnatural sudden death) it's not for us to tell and determind , it depend on his soul, but I hope his will find proper peace and final resting.
19. to #12 Some prisons are country clubs
jason white ,   afula,israel   (08.20.09)
I worked for awhile in Tsel Mond and it was new, clean and had many recreational facilties for the cons. They could work if they wanted to and get paid. Go to a fitness room. Study, ect. The food was very good. The guards receive a decent salary and many benefits. A relative of my late wife's retired and received a pension after 20 years, a bonus to start a business, ect. He also lived in a villa he built himself. My former neighbor was a cook in the I.P.A. and he moved about 5-6 years ago to a villa. The families of the prisoners receive money each month from the Beutach Leumi. So we subsidize criminals. Their children receive money for school books and supplies. They have medical and dental care. And 5 days vacation every two months. They are better off than many others here that work and try to survive while being honest.
20. Remember his gifts and his Jewish Neshama!
Yehudit ,   London, England   (08.20.09)
When Dudu Topaz was alive, I have watched his work as well as attened live solo-shows of him. I appreciated his talents and gifts in comedy, etc. When he faced the latest allegations, I was very sad for the victims, him and his family. I did not however think it was fair to have put him on what appeared to have been a public trial, instantly forget his contributions and add to his already significant shame and despair. It appears as at some stage he became unwell and eventually ended up taking his own life. As Jews we should remember his gifts and contributions and hope for the full recovery of the victims, for his family to be able to cope and for his Jewish Neshama to find peace.
21. Idiocracy
Marcel ,   Florida   (08.20.09)
Succient and to the point. Israel worships her idols of the nations and has become just like them in every perverse way. Choose life has morphed into choose decadence. No wonder murders and crimes are up, the chosen people have chosen to become the perverse people just like the god they serve and run to for peace.no peace for the wicked.
22. To Talulah and Torah Scholar
me ,   here   (08.20.09)
A person is legally considered innocent until proven otherwise. Please, keep your uncertain judgements to yourselves. Who knows, if he had lived, he might have been found without guilt, but people like you would already have judged him for life.
23. Who?
Juan ,   Spain   (08.20.09)
24. to #21 lol

Florida is known among others for Hispanic drug dealers yep the CSI labs work in your stat extra hours.
25. Sad & shocked
Mike Bing ,   Heiloo, the Netherla   (08.20.09)
First of all those are my emotions. "Moshe" and his "orangiada" is no more. Regardless of what he did the last few years that landed him in such a bad position, I can still remember the laughs. I have a few CD's in the car and, once in a while when driving to work in Amsterdam, listen to the rabbi, the new immigrant and Moshe - as brought to life by Dudu. I understand his life took a bad turn, but still this news hits me and saddens me.
26. Will Dudus life now be made into a film?
ambrosine shitrit ,   london   (08.20.09)
Re Juan, Spain. If you dont know who he is, i suggest doing an internet search. As for Dudu, i have to say, he was controversial right until the very end of his life. Putting all of the problems aside, Its still very upsetting that anyman could have the capacity to take his own life in such a secure enviroment. Very sad indeed. However I do see script writers on the horizon already waiting to take his life story to film.
27. Israel's Failure to Deal With Mental Illness
Leah Yaffa ,   Netanya, Israle   (08.20.09)
Frankly it's the country's inability to deal with anyone who has mental illness. Still left over BS from the socialist regime that deems anyone with a disability as less competent and not able to work. It's a complete disgrace that those with mental illness are usually put aside by a Jewish society where compassion should and needs to be at the core of our religion.
28. 14
Rosie ,   Israel   (08.20.09)
I hope his mother is not alive.
29. #22 He apologised for his actions you Moron
israel   (08.20.09)
Meaning - he was guilty of everything he was charged for
30. #27
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (08.20.09)
Orthodoxy isn't especially compassionate to mental (or physical) illness either. In some circles the ill are sent out of the house, lest the prevent a healthy child from making a "good match." Friend of someone I know well adopted a kid from an orthodox family that was put up for adoption because of a minor but very visual defect in the hand.
